The proper choice and placement of plant materials can mean the difference good and truly extraordinary landscape design. We take pride in our selection of plant materials. While we are prepared to use common plants in a visually pleasing arrangement, our specialty is exploring exotic and unique flora that gives each home a distinctive and lush appeal.

We knew we wanted something unique and we also knew this will be a challenge with the slopes all around the house. we wanted everything. water feature, plunge pool, water running down the stairs lots of decks and benches around the property, to enjoy the beautiful views, fireplace, Jacuzi, etc. not to forget that we have front yard, backyard. and the 2 sides of the house as well, . the steep slopes, omg!. well.
Urban Landscape, Garrett and his awesome crew where not afraid to go with us on this challenging journey. and boy was this one to remember and also worth it?! You bet! Attention to details was my number one priority and as you can see in the pictures below they did it! Quality at its finest! And I mean that! Anyone think that construction and Landscaping in particular its a smooth ride. well I will just say this : going thru major landscape construction is not for everyone. definitely will be using them in the future and highly recommend them.5 stars without hesitation!

Stay away from Garrett.he's the biggest crook. We paid over $300k for our landscaping and have had nothing but problems with our sprinkler system. We've had several drip lines pop off in the middle of the night because they weren't capped off. Recently, we found a cracked pipe that was leaking for several months. Contacted Garrett about this and to his reply to us was "Bummer." This is suppose to be covered under our warranty since it hasn't even been a year.
Never bothered to contact us back to resolve the issue. Had to pay out of pocket to get this fixed and it was expensive because the cracked pipe was deep down. We have had nothing less than a bad relationship with him during the last few months of construction because he would not stick to the plan and we complained. He placed a big tree too close to our driveway in which we wanted widened.
He argued with us so much that we just let it go. This made him upset (that we questioned his expertise) and would revert us to talk to his workers going forward. He'll be nice in the beginning to you but once he has most of your money.his true side will come out. FYI, he lives in Hawaii so you will only see him once every 2 months (something he never told us).
He is not cheap (probably the highest quote we got) but went with him bc my wife loved his pics on houzz. His work is not that great, cuts a lot of corners, he's a arrogant jerk, and prides himself on his softscaping (this is his MO in ripping you off). He charges a lot but does minimal hardscape and maximizes on the softscape which is inexpensive for him. He tried to get more clients in our neighborhood but we warned them. We definitely overpaid for subpar work.

Excellent! I feel horrible that anyone would go out of their way to say anything bad about this company. I get compliments on my yard on a regular basis. I am told I have the most beautiful landscaping on the block. Garett was very professional, helpful and patient with us. His unique style is what makes this company one of a kind. Our project was completed sooner than estimated.
Which was great! His staff is friendly, punctual, and are true artists of the craft. Our home is absolutely beautiful and one of a kind thanks to Urban Landscape. Well worth the money.

Garett, we can't thank you enough for the great work you and your team accomplished at our house. From the recommendations you made from the beginning, to actually seeing it come to light, has been nothing but great. Please pass along to your team how grateful we are for the great work and for their professionalism. They've become family over the last nine months and we will miss them. Keep up the great work, it doesn't go unnoticed.

I have used urban landscape, and never will again. They are crooks, we have paid a deposit, it took them several month to present a design, took them 5 min to take our money, we did a consultation at home prior, they seemed like they knew what they were doing, after we saw the pictures we were inspire, then decided to move forward. Biggest mistake ever.
We called them several times after we give them our money No phone call back no emails! We finally got a hold of someone, they told us they apologized they dropped the ball! Really! Since we did not get any design yet and they already had our money we still requested our design. They emailed us 2 weeks later a design that we did not like. I told them and they said that usually people always liked there designs! Ok?
Well I do not and I want to do some revision to make sure I get what I like and not what they think I should like.after another several weeks we still did not get the design we wanted and they give us an outrageous budget after we told them the budget prior to the design Stay away from those people, We ended up using pool logic, The design is free, we got it after only 1 week, and they did our landscape and pool within our budget and great attitude all the way.

Urban landscape proved to not be what they portrayed. From the initial concept design (which cost over 2K) they did not listen to our requests/wants. It had to be redrawn 3 times. After they received the payment to have the plans drawn, it became difficult to get in touch with them. Our contact person was Nell, whom seemed irritated that the concept was not okay once it was complete. Again, key items were not addressed (a fountain feature, greenery/coverage across the back of yard) He was unable to provide proper measurements when asked about key construction concepts.
Instead of finding out the requirements for our area, he just ignored. Once the concept design was complete, it took an additional month to get a quote. There was always an excuse for not responding to emails and/or phone calls. The occasional "I'll get back to you tomorrow" would turn into 3 weeks. When finally choosing another company, Nell's concept had to be revised AGAIN as the scale proved to not be completely accurate. Needless to say, we should have gone with the other company to begin with. Lesson learned. DO NOT pay upfront for service! The work they show is beautiful but don't trust them for a second.

I could not be happier with Urban Landscape and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a landscape project over $100k. Tom from Urban (in the San Diego area) was responsive from day 1, and continues to be as responsive to this day despite the project being over a month complete. I received pricing from 3 companies, all of which were relatively in-line with each other.
Urban was slightly on the higher side but I strongly believe the end result wouldn't have been the same. Additionally, I was never "nickel and dimed" for minor tweaks - not once in 5 months. If there was a significant change or addition, there was an agreed upon change order - all done with transparency. The crew assigned to our project was great as well.
Six hard working guys who took a ton of pride in doing things right the first time, or tweaking things to accommodate the evolution of the design from paper to reality. There was not a list of milestones and deadlines, but the overarching deliverable estimate was met. The team was never idle - everyone knew what to do and worked the entire day for 5 straight months.
Urban treated them with respect as well, a normal ~9 hour work day with a full lunch break, no weekends, holidays off - good work shows in work done by happy employees. The subcontractors selected by Urban also seemed to carry the same level of pride and respect. In any project, you are always selecting what is most important to you... Cheaper, Better, or Faster. If "Better" is the most important to you of the 3, then select Urban Landscape.

This company is a total disaster. In all my professional and personal career I have never experienced such horrible service. We did a job for almost $300K and its now been more than 15 months and we are still not done. We are at the point now that Urban is refusing to pay its contractors to complete the job. I highly recommend you pass on this provider.

Great experience! Garrett and his team were on time, finished super quick, and did a great job! I would recommend Urban Landscape to anyone! Everyone was very professional and nice. I give Urban Landscape 5 stars because my experience was the best. Our family can now enjoy the swimming pool from sunrise to sunset. Excellent job. Thank you for our beautiful pool!

We've owned many homes in Irvine area in the last 20 years and Southwinds was our previous contractor for my last house. We had high expectations going in. When we saw the quality of work done by Urban and the design they had proposed, there was no question they're the one. Our dream yard for our new home in Lambert ranch is nearly complete, and Urban landscape has done an amazing job.
If you have the privilege of working with the owner Garrett, he an extrememly telanted and nice guy to work with. He always kept his word and his passion for doing great work simply shows. He's taken the time to check on our project perodically even with other $500K and $million dollar jobs going on. His masonary crew lead by Roberto was simply the best.
On time, curtious, attention to detail, high quality work all the way. They've also help us selected special plants as we've requested few people had, and picked great trees for us. So if you have a decent budget and crave fine things in life like us, Urban landscape the one. They have exceeded our expectation in every way. My wife keeps on telling me it's the best decision we've made and she wants to go out to injoy the yard more so than inside the house which we spent over $130K upgrades in! That says it all.

Urban Landscape with their sophisticated professional services approach has been one of the very best landscaping experiences I have ever had as a new home buyer.! I owned several brand new properties in the past and dealt with other landscape firms multiple times. My point of reference and experience with landscaping from start to finish - dirt to completion - has been varied and I know how things can potentially go wrong once the projects begin.
Urban Landscape team has been one of the very best to work with in terms of their professionalism, timeliness, keeping to the spirit of our agreement which they went above and beyond just the written contract to get this very large project to a successful completion.! Urban Landscape team is very sophisticated creatively has been extremely successful with my project in their artistic approach as well as the construction.
The honesty and timeliness of their staff has been top notch - to say the least.! They have been a delight to work with and I will be using them in the future on my other properties as well. I will definitely recommend Urban Landscape to anyone who is considering a landscaping project either from start to finish or even just an upgrade to their current property. If you have any questions you can feel free to contact me directly.! Hakan Pekkan Founder & CEO HR LINK Group, Inc. www.hrlg.com

I wanted to give a review here on these guys because 1. they asked and 2. i dont think the other reviews here are a reasonable representation of this company. I had them do a modest size landscape/pool and structure job for me under a year ago and here is my take. The company is run by Garett. He is very talented but also very busy. He has put in some extremely quality people around him that carry the load of the work and are very respectful easy to deal with and hard working.
That said dont expect Garett to be at the site every day.but do expect his people to do a fantastic job.and they did for me. I give it 4 stars because the end result was amazing. They executed the design as we planned and it matched the 3D fly-though reasonably well.some of the trees where different but it was very close. Someone from Garetts team was always open to questions and they where responsive to a few items i wanted to change along the way.
Ok - so i give them 4 stars again not 5 because they are not the cheapest.im not sure that's fair to ding them for a star for that because they really have above par craftsmen and results.but at the same time people need to understand expect to pay a little more for a better product. One final note - i had a few minor issues with some tile a couple months after the final walk-though and they took care of them within a week no questions asked.so that was good for me also. Hope this review helps - i liked Garett and his guys and think they deserved a fair report from someone with a good experience.

This company is a train wreck. The crew is the most inefficient group of people I have ever worked with and a 2 week project took 7 weeks. They company is working with an expired contractors license which can't be renewed until a civil suit is resolved. Check the license carefully and you will find several different and invalid numbers on their estimates, business cards and other documents.
The CEO arrogant, difficult to contact and does not supervise his crew at all. As for correcting problems after final payment - forget about it! How do you spell trouble? Urban Landscape.
