We put in a warranty claim for a plumbing issue to address two toilet issues. The warranty company assigned a repair company. When the repair company called to reschedule the pre-scheduled appointment (first issue), I requested a quote for a tankless water heater conversion. The person I spoke to about the quote emailed me the quote and I accepted and asked to schedule the water heater install.
I waited 3 days without a reply to my email and found out the technician misread my clearly stated email as "I didn't want the work" (second issue). When I spoke with him again he said they would come out to do both the work at the same time; thus, delaying the warranty repair for more than two weeks (third issue). I told him during the phone call that I have poor cell reception and that my wife will be home all day, so just come by.
On the day of service, right at the end of the service window I get 4 calls and VMs back-to-back (fourth issue). Obviously I am working; how else can I afford all of this work? A scheduler tells me when I call them back that they know nothing about any prior arrangements or notes and they must confirm the day of before sending out their crews (fifth issue).
Between the warranty company and out of my pocket for the new work this company stands to make a lot of money and instead I have a scheduler yelling and screaming to call them back at the end of the service window on a large scheduled job.

The plumber came out to my residence to fix the hot water in my shower and my toilet. After he left the heat water would no longer work, so I called the company back to turn the hot water back on. Instead of them coming back out to turn my hot water on, the company told me I had to go back through my home warranty and pay another $100 just for them to fix something they did. I'll be calling my home warranty company and if they don't have another plumbing company that they use, I'll drop them and find another service.

Universal plumbing has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We moved into our new home October of 2021. Shortly after we experienced flooding in our guest bathroom and sewage coming up from the bathtub. We have a Home Warranty Coverage plan and they were out to our house 3 times and still couldn't fix it. Not only that- but we had to pay an additional $200 for them to go on the roof.
And before the owner decides to write a passive aggressive comment- YES we understand our home warranty doesn't cover that. We were fine with paying the $200 fee- as long as it was fix. It never was. After explaining the situation to the owner on the phone, he said "there will be no refund". and "you may have to pay an additional fee if we have to unclog the sewage again" I'm sorry- you never communicated the problem of what was going on in the first place.
The owner then proceeded to tell me I SIGNED A NOTICE. Which I requested a copy of- he said they could be mailed to me. 3 weeks later NOTHING. BECAUSE I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They will do ANYTHING to get your money!

My home warranty company assigned this company to us over the weekend and they came out to my house yesterday, I was skeptical at 1st because when they were assigned I googled them and they have less than steller reviews so I was nervous. However they did a fantastic job, they were thorough, cleaned up after themselves and even answered any questions. So I can't speak for other people but I won't mind if they get assigned to us again.

The incompetent plumber spent all day at my home, did not successfully repair what he was hired to repair, left water all over the floor and broke my washing machine. When I called to speak about this issue they couldn't even schedule a plumber to come the next day, did not apologize, and treated me like I was the problem. I Will never allow them near my home again In response to universal plumbing's response. No!
Both plumbing issues were authorized by the warranty company and on the agenda for the day. when your technician did not know this I called you guys and y'all said yes, the washing machine issue was authorized and the plumber will repair it after the kitchen drain issue. He then proceeded to botch the entire job. No worries, another plumbing company came the following day and repaired the washing machine drain in a matter of 20 min. No hassle from them. it was a failure on your company's part. Stop lying

To anyone that use this company be very cautious and cover your tracks. Make sure you oversee everything they do by taken pictures before, while they're working, and when they're done. The lady in the office with brunette hair is super rude and arrogant and Unprofessional. I have American home shield, and Universal plumbing manipulated me. They try to get over by saying that I did not have coverage for access point To repair a pipe.
My contract states that I do. Universal plumbing also try to charge me an extra $200. When calling American home shield to verify, universal plumbing took back what they said and then said they don't need to break anything out to fix the problem. When repairing the pipe they dropped a lot of debris down the whole causing my drain to clog. Not knowing when I took a shower the water backed up and went all over my kitchen floor ruining my brand new kitchen cabinets.
Universal plumbing refused to speak to me or take responsibility to unclog the drain or to compensate me for my cabinets. I have found the suit with them with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office next up is a civil suit I advise anyone that uses this company if they have poor experience to definitely report it this company should not be in business it is not a business it is a scam!

I only used this company because they were authorized by my home warranty company. They sent Ralph to my house to fix my leaking pipe. He went out of his way to help me and did a wonderful job. I will be asking for Ralph for as long as I live in Shreveport. Great guy did a great job! Services: Plumbing leak detection, Plumbing pipe repair

***updated to respond to owner response*** I spoke with supervisors in the contractor's department as well as equipment ordering and shipping, all of which confirmed that the part was never ordered through AHS and that Universal elected not to order through them. Accountability is important. *********** If I could give zero stars, I would. Universal Plumbing was assigned to me for a hot water heater replacement in February by American Home Shield. Ralph came out, inspected my unit, deemed that it needed to be replaced.
He then spent an hour or so crying in my dining room because he asked if I had Jesus in my life and I didn't respond with a firm yes. I was told it would be about a week before my unit came in, the ice storm happened and understandably my unit did not arrive. I continued to follow up for many weeks before Universal told me that they were waiting on the heater to arrive from my warranty company.
I called my warranty company and was told that Universal elected not to order a heater from them, called Universal and they continued to lie to me about ordering through the home warranty company. I spent 2 months without hot water, was verbally abused by one of their employees for my lack of faith, and then lied to about the whole situation all while going dealing with an enormous amount of pain in my personal life.
I was able to hire a licensed plumber and purchased the heater out of pocket for half the cost Universal was quoting AHS, had it installed on the next business day and AHS sent me a reimbursement check in the mail the day after. Avoid this company, if AHS assigns them to you, ask to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed. And before anyone has the audacity to come on here and respond to my review, just know that I recorded every single call between Universal and myself along with the calls between myself and AHS.

This company is AWESOME! I used them after two other companies could not find my problem. They found the issue and resolved it at a very reasonable price. They were referred to me by my coworker who has used them for years. I read the other reviews and it seems that these people just have issues with their warranty companies! I learned my lesson and I will always call Universal first!

My hot water tank went out on a Friday My tank was still under warranty and Universal Plumbing was the company the manufacturer used. When I called, I was told a repairman would not be able to be there before Thursday. I explained that I would be having surgery Wednesday and a repairman was there Tuesday. I am very grateful for their responsive and concern for my situation. If I ever need a plumbing company, Universal will be the one.
