Cape Fear Flooring

I would not recommend this company for anything. As a 25 year Army Veteran I have never experienced anything worse. Please find another company; soldiers don't waste your time.

We've waited to the end of our repairs before posting this review, as there are many reviews on here posted too early in the process to give an accurate accounting. This process began for us in October 2020, so we've been dealing with this company for a year and a half. If we had known how terrible and stressful this experience with Cape Fear Flooring was going to be, we would have shopped around and found a more competent company to trust our home to.

We dealt with water damage and repairs in another state years ago that went smoothly and was completed to our satisfaction within a few months. We share this in hopes of sparing others from making the same mistake in trusting Cape Fear Flooring that we did. We had damage from a water leak in our shower and bathroom that required pulling up all the flooring in the bathroom and all of the tile in the shower and replacing it.

This is a BRIEF overview of the issues we've had: -Poor communication and follow up, we constantly had to call in and ask when things would be worked on. They would tell us they'd call by the next week, but after several weeks or a month of not hearing anything we would have to call them. -Unacceptable workmanship from the contracted workers they use, and we still to this day are dealing with problems that they've "fixed".

For example, the new grout in the shower and on the floor is already cracking in multiple areas, even though we've already had someone come out to repair them. The tiler also installed several floor tiles upside down, and we had to point it out to him when he thought he was finished. Additionally, they cut all the tiles too short so there is a gap along the wall that the trim did not cover.

From mismatching paint to terrible caulking jobs to gouging our tub, these few examples barely scratch the surface of the lack of attention to detail and poor quality work that caused problems we are now left to deal with. We have reached out to them, all the way up to the CEO, hoping they would do something to make this right, only to be ignored and disappointed by them again. Don't make the same mistake we did! Avoid this company at all costs, they do not care about their customers.

Honest. Thank you Cape Fear and Brian J.! I had 4 contract companies come assess the source of a leak in my house and none could provide an answer, though all were willing to charge us for an attempt. Brian and his team were able to help me identify the source of my leak and help with entire process of repair without pressuring us to go with him or his company.

The team at Cape Feat Flooring and Restoration did a great job taking of me. I was super stressed out. They came in, did what they had to do. They responded quickly, communicated well and left a lasting impression. Thank you Brian for making this less stressful for me! I appreciate you and your team!

This team of professionals certainly deserve s 5 star! Everyone involved in the handling of my project was accommodating, knowledgeable, very professional and did a great job! Would recommend them as well as patronize their business again!

Brian Jacobs was very professional and helpful during the entire process to include communicating with my claims adjuster on my behalf. His team were polite and professional. I have a rental property that suffered from water damage. Cape fear flooring and restoration was proactive and began the drying out and mitigation process the next business day. They handled the talks with the insurance company, tenants and rental agent which made it a walk in the park for me. Thanks again

I returned home to my ceiling leaking. I was worried cause it was after 9pm. I called cape fear flooring and restoration and they was at my hour within a hour and a half. Mr Brian, Chris, Christopher and Forrest did a awesome job. They communicated with me to let me know what happen, and what they was doing. They was very polite young men and made me feel like I could most definitely trust them. I would recommend them every time. Thank you so much guys.

Brian (crew leader), Mack, and the rest of the crew we very respectful guys came to my home and got the job done swiftly. They even made sure that I was given helpful and knowledgeable information about my water heater leaking all over my closet into my laundry room. They even caught a mother would be problem that would have been another headache.

No need for all the details on my home flooding I just want to highlight the exceptional service and step by step explanation's throughout the process of getting my home back to normal. Brian was phenomenal. He came out the same day kept in contact with me the entire process with mitigation. The team that came out also were very respectful and ensured that all the water was dry. I cannot complain at all i had my home for 10+years and this was a first for me ever having to file an insurance claim and Brian made it so easy to understand.

I have been trying to get a quote from this company for about 5 months now. Originally someone came out to give me an estimate and gave me a quote that had completely wrong measurements, so of course the estimate was inaccurate. When I called to question it, I was told that person no longer worked there for that same reason. I was assured they'd send out one of their best employees to redo the estimate.

He came, measured and said he'd contact me in a few days. That was about a month ago and I've yet to hear from anyone. They must not be hurting for business because this was going to be a flooring job for my entire house. I will be moving on to find another company that is professional and reliable.

My grandfather's rental property experienced a broken water pipe in the kitchen and of course water damage to the entire kitchen and laundry room. Cape Fear Flooring and Restoration was recommend by the plumbing company and came out to the home in a timely manner. Brian Jacobs was so kind and explained everything to us over the phone. My grandfather was sick and I was caring for him and we could not make it out to the property during this stressful time.

He was extremely thorough in his inspection of the damage and communicated what he felt needed to be done concisely and clearly. I've never had to handle an issue like this and Brian put my mind at ease during an already stressful time. Brain even offered to contact our home owner's insurance claims department and help us get that ball rolling as well.

He was knowledgeable and was always in contact with me and answered all my questions. The team got the ball rolling quickly during the mitigation process and was able to get the water damage removed with their equipment and a sub floor in. We are now waiting for the 2nd phase of repairing and replacing the cabinets and floors. I will update on that process as we continue.

I had a leak in my bathroom coming from the shower and a leak from my dishwasher in the kitchen. My plumber recommended I call you guys. Brian Jacobs came out the same day. He was so helpful. He answered all my questions and made sure to explain the process fully. He even called my insurance with me to make sure they had everything they needed to file the claim.

He didn't have to do that, but he was happy to do so. He came back out when the guys came for mitigation to make sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone was so nice. I was very impressed and would recommend to anyone. Thank you, Brian!

I have to admit my experience didn't start out amazing but this company went the distance to make up for it! I ordered floors for my entire house: carpet for the upstairs and luxury vinyl for the downstairs back in May. I was told by the girl who is no longer employed there that it would not take long to get in. She measured the space and put the order in.

I got the carpet fairly quickly and Frank and his amazing team came in in rain and installed it. They did beautiful work but it turns out the measuring was wrong. I called up and spoke to Allen and he made sure that the same carpet from the same dye lot was ordered to make sure it would perfectly match and did not charge me for their mistake and they got that in quickly and Frank came out and finished installing the next day.

The downstairs floor took some time to come in due to covid and I was super frustrated. I started getting updates from Allen who spent so much of his day calling Mohawk to check on my floors personally and got them in as quickly as possible. Once Allen took over my order my experience was amazing. He took time to call me and update me every step of the way.

Once they came in, he had Frank come out the next day to install. Frank and his team were amazing and stayed till 9 pm to finish installing. It was so worth it to have my floors in and I highly recommend working with Allen for the sales end and Frank as the installed. My floors are beautiful and I am sooooo happy!

Poor communications skills. Takes months for them to respond to emails. I had a question about deposits as they want half up front. When I asked if they could bring it down to a smaller amount since half up front is too much it took two months for them to respond to me.

This is the most helpful restoration company in NC. Cape Fear Flooring (CFF) is very helpful to the military community. It does not matter if you are stationed in Alaska or your spouse is deployed, the teamwork and attention to detail is unsurpassed.

I had a water loss to my home back in October 2015. My Master bathroom, master bedroom, and walk-in closet were affected. It was a total disaster! I was so worried about which company to go with to help get my house and family back to normal!

My project began July 23 and ended Oct October 14. The company would make promises of completing the work in x amount of days and those days would come and go. I would wait for materials only to find out 3 days later the item ordered was discontinued.

High quality customer service, workmanship and products. Office staff, restoration crews and installers were all very professional, friendly, prompt and thorough. We've used CFF multiple times, even though we could have gone more local, because we TRUST them to do right by us, always!
