I was so happy with my experience with Big D Building. I had fogged windows on the 2nd level of my family room that 2 other window/glass contractors refused to help me with. The job was complicated because of the height of the windows and that my swimming pool was on the outside of the windows in question. Big D took on the work and even saved me a bunch of hassle and money by completing the job without breaking through the screens of my pool enclosure. The workers were polite, thoughtful in how to complete the work and on were on time. I will definately use this company again!

Don and Debbie were able to source interior trim material that I could not find at any other distributor in town. If you need a personal approach to your material needs, I would definitely recommend Big D. There's a huge difference when a company does business with you and then you find a company that actually wants your business. When Debbie called me back and said she had found the trim.
I told her that I really appreciated it, she said "we appreciate you and want your business". As a small shop it was nice to hear that. I look forward to building a new relationship with Big D and going forward will be ordering my material from them.

STAY AWAY! I own a small business, and do a lot of updating and remodeling, I have used this company 6 times, and everytime its exactly the same experience, less than desirable too eventually worse, I tried to work with them, seeing they really undercut prices of competitors, but now I rather pay a little more for not having to deal with the hassle and drama.
If you do choose to use them, don't be surprised if you call and request a estimate for some doors and give them all the required info over the phone, and then they say, OK GREAT, we will call you back. Calling you back WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Make sure you get the first and last name and extension he can be reached at of the person you spoke to about getting a estimate, cuz later on your gonna need to know after 3 or 4 days go by, and you are never once contacted about your simple inquiry.
When you call back, it's like you never existed if you don't get that office person's name, it happened every time, then even if you actually get the person you talked to 4 days ago, they then can't even find who you are and what it originally was for. Then you go through the entire process over again to still get the estimate you need, then another day will go by without a return call, I mean seriously how long does it really take to look up 6 simple, commonly used pre hung 36 Jeld-Weld doors that is practically in every home in Florida?
A whole week? Even HomeDepot is better turn around time than that, and that's not saying much, cuz they are horrible also! But Big D's takes the cake! Now if you call every couple times a day, and keep harping on them, be prepared once again to explain everything to them over again, remember you don't exist, so don't be alarmed after you called yesterday, and now are calling today, to check on the bidding process, that they have no idea who you are, YOU GET THE IDEA YET?
That's what it's like, and that's only the tip of the Iceberg, God forbid if you actually hire them to do a door or window install! GOD LUCK and look forward to being unhappy for awhile, that is until they get it right, or you just give up. I had myself, my father, my neighbor, and another neighbor use them, all the same results, horrible and a pain to work with. Calculating all the times I am aware of people using them, that would be, family, friends/neighbors, myself, customer's, I know 12 times the were used, out of 12 installs from buying to coordinating delivery and installation, 2 experiences were rated as ok to good, the other 10 experiences were rated from bad to horrible, NEVER AGAIN! And will be happy to tell other contractors too RUN! FAST! THE OTHER WAY!

Awful awful awful.yes they had the lowest price( not by much ) but god I wish we would have just paid the little bit extra to go with a more reputable company. Timelines mean nothing here. If they tell you 3 weeks then expect 3 months. after being told multiple times it's coming on the next shipment oh just kidding not really. After months of waiting they finally installed the door.
They showed up over an hour late to the install and they didn't even bring the screen?! Then the owner shows up later and says they will have the screen in tomorrow and he will personally come to install it. Well that meant nothing as well cause it's been almost a month since then and it still hasn't been installed. We had to call this morning and questioned again wth?
Only to come home and have it leaned up against our house out front. Not installed.no call.no nothing.guess I have to figure out how to install it. Not happy and will not recommend them.

How do I start.? This company is a complete ripoff, very unprofessional window crew. I had the crew come out to install windows at a property of mine, and I received a call from the neighbors to inform me that they could smell marijuana and when they went to find where the smell was coming from, they could see two of the window crew guys behind my house smoking on their lunch break.
I haven't called to complain yet but I'll will this morning in hopes of some type of action being taken towards the two workers. Just for future reference to anyone who decides to use these guys for window installation, I would say stay away from the crew that has the guys Danny, and Doug the smokers. I'm sure they have other crews to come out and install.
The work could be a lot better as well I can see sun light around the panels of two windows they installed, so I'll have to also have them come back to fix that. And clean up the messy caulk job they did. Stay away from they guys.

The entire experience was smooth from getting the initial quote from Don, to the staff who scheduled the installation, to the guys who did the install. We replaced our windows with impact glass as well as our back door. The windows look GREAT. The quote they gave was much better than multiple other companies I contacted. The work was done quickly and the staff was great.

I contracted for replacement windows May 23 (with my deposit check) in good faith, and was told the windows would arrive in 3 weeks, then we would schedule the installation. 4 weeks later I called them as it seems they had not been ordered! They had to "go remeasure." Great. Ok. This is end of June and my project house is vacant. We hadn't even started painting or renovating because we were waiting on the windows.
At the beginning of August, a month later, I called to check on the windows. They were coming in the next week, they said. The windows were installed around August 22, two weeks later, but the doors were on backorder. The installer proceeded to install one of the windows on a rotten sill without replacing it. I told him not to seal it because it had to be replaced.
I got another contractor to replace the sill and seal that window. At the end of September I called and was informed the door should be in after the beginning of October. The installation of the front door took place October 26, 5 MONTHS after I ordered the windows and doors. But GET THIS.the back door was ordered and backordered WRONG. They measured the wrong door for replacement.
So I told them to forget it. I will find someone else to replace that door. A week after the installation occurred and 5 MONTHS after the order, I had yet to ascertain where the weatherstripping was for the front door which cost me $2000. And THEY PLACED A LEIN ON MY PROPERTY FOR 1 WEEK NON-PAYMENT as I had not finished my inspection/verification of the weatherstripping. ONE WEEK.
In talking to the owner, he asked for payment because he has to "make payroll." Does this sound like a stable business to you? I will be informing the company who referred me to them (a construction firm) and my husband's architecture network. After 5 months of project delays, my house is still not done.

Great experience working with Big D Building Center. Salesman was on time for my initial visit with a heads up on the way phone call. My quote came back in a timely manner and very competitive. My installation of 38 new pieces of glass for my fogged Windows went perfect and my windows are looking great!
