Custom Cooling

Custom Cooling and Plumbing and, specifically, the tech that came out for my call, were highly recommended to me by someone I trust. So after an unusually hot week in Phoenix, during which my A/C was only blowing warm air, I called Custom Cooling for a service which was set up for a Friday afternoon. The tech checked everything, took pictures and showed me how and why I needed a whole new HVAC unit including new duct work.

I knew this was coming so was not too surprised but a bit sticker-shocked when he told me a ball park figure for the new unit. Before he arrived I had suspected that the immediate problem was that the AC coolant was low and asked if he could at least ad some to get us through the weekend and the next several weeks (which is how long he said it would take to schedule the new install).

He told me that the pan in the attic was so rusted and the possibility for a leak so high that it would all just come pouring through the ceiling, so no. This, of course, created even more urgency since I knew there was even hotter weather on the way and a 2-3 week wait would be miserable. He then turned the A/C off, left the fan blowing, charged me $90 for the service call, and told me he would send over a quote on Monday.

So our household including four animals were left for a long, hot weekend in a very warm house with no A/C to cool us down. On Monday I got a quote from him for $13k which covered a mid-range quality unit install plus the new duct work. That same Monday, I had someone else come take a look at it and he confirmed that I did need a new system but after checking the pressure and amount of coolant in my A/C, was happy to add some Freon to get me through whatever time it would take to shop around and then install a new unit. Turns out there was no chance whatever for any kind of leak or ceiling flood and creating false urgency to make the sale was more important to Custom Cooling's tech than leaving us to stew in the Phoenix heat.

I then shopped around and was able to find a higher quality brand unit with everything thrown in for $5k cheaper than I was quoted. Within two days this other company had it installed as well as the brand new duct work and all the old gear removed, leaving no mess. I don't care how good Custom Cooling may be at other times, anyone that would put a fast, overpriced sale over the well being of a potential client and then lie about it to boot, doesn't deserve my business or anyone else's for that matter.

On New Year's Day, in a snowstorm, they were here in 20 minutes to fix our furnace so we had heat. This company has earned my future business for sure! Thank you to Ross for his quick, professional, and efficient response! Service:Heating system repair

I've had to use this company more than once since I'm a renter. they are horrible at follow up phone calls and appointments and very rarely show up on time for appointments. In addition I've had to wait 2+ weeks for a part both times I've needed one AND I'M THE ONE that had to call back and ask for an update. These were both during the winter and one was a simple thermostat replacement. I would not use this company if it were my choice. Only two stars because they did eventually "do the work".

They came out and looked over what units I had, old ones of course, told me what needed to be done, what should be done. After inspection of the old units they emailed bids on 4 different levels of comfort and the costs. They let me choose what I wanted, set up the appointment for ducts to be cleaned. The cost was exactly what they estimated. Very professional job. Very pleased with the way the AC now performs. I would definitely refer anyone to them.

RJ, my technician, was incredible! He checked my filter inside the house and also went above and beyond to make sure that EVERYTHING in my A/C was working correctly. He was awesome. He was knowledgeable and friendly and he answered all my questions about my unit. Custom Cooling is lucky to have such a great person working for them!

These guys are the best! Our a/c went out on a weekend and they showed up within a few hours to diagnose the problem. Thankfully it was still under warranty. Unfortunately the manufacturer gave us the run around on replacement parts (apparently they no longer support our unit, even though it's only 3 years old). Meanwhile our house was 118 degrees inside!

Rather than continue to wait on the manufacturer Junior and Jerry found a complete unit and swapped mine out. I am grateful to know their are good people still in the world! Thank you for getting us back into our home!

Critical:Professionalism I live on a rural, dirt road that has a 25 mph limit. One of their company vehicles flew by my house going literally 70. I see there is another review that complains about a company vehicle driving bad. I think I would second guess hiring them considering how unprofessional and dangerous the idiots they send out are.

Saw one of this companies vehicles driving dangerously on I-17 north bound today at 1:30PM

Stop searching right here. Custom Cooling has been incredible! I've had them out twice for unrelated things and their level of service is unmatched. I had called a more popular company before and they screwed up my AC badly. Custom has come out and fixed my unit for a fair price both times. Seriously don't look at any more companies and call these guys. Open invitation if you want to message me about them. I'm a real person and they offered me nothing for this review.

I have used the service of Custom Cooling & Heating for 13 years. Last week when the temperatures reached between 83 & 94 degrees, I discovered my air conditioning unit was not working. The same day, Custom determined I needed a new unit, in less than a week, I had a new unit. This company cares for their customers. I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you guys, your the best!

Brad and his team did a perfect job replacing our heat pump. He gave us a repair option and then multiple replacement options. He also recommended switching from a heat pump to a conventional air conditioner. This was less expensive then going with a new heat pump and should give me less repairs down the road. I really appreciated all the options and the great advice.

The technicians were in and out in one day and cleaned everything up and left my place better then they found it. Couldn't ask for a better experience from the beginning to the end!
