Drain Cleaning
Report
Dirt, grease and debris can accumulate in your drain lines over time and are the main causes of drain blockages. It is important to keep those lines clear to prevent messy back-ups into your drains or sewer lines. If you have lived in your own house for very long, you have probably experienced some type of plumbing drain clog.
Heating
Report
Hydronic heating is the use of water as the heat-transfer medium. Some of the oldest and most common examples are boilers, radiators, and hot-water baseboard systems. Hydronic heating systems have little or no air movement, which means air quality doesn't deteriorate due to repeatedly circulating dust and impurities. This is a great benefit for allergy sufferers.

So this summer I had the unpleasant experience of calling the company back since it appears they did allegedly unpermitted work and the only reason I know this is because I had a basement remodel under permit and the inspector said it was not a permitted install or they had no record. So this summer, I called and spoke to Jenny who I asked if they could give me copies of the permits since this is delaying the job on my house.
She told me that the 'owner' was in Mexico and nothing could be done until he returned. I called many other times after that but my voicemails went unreturned. Man, don't you hate being ignored? It's like the easiest way to ensure a small situation gets worse is to just ignore it. Some communication to say, hey, it's possible we didn't get a permit but if you can get maybe pay the inspection fee and have them sign off on it, we can reimburse you? Yeah, that would have been fine, but they chose to instead do the following: Today I decided to give them a last chance after having another boiler tech in my home Yesterday.
The house was frigid during the coldest months of winter thus far. NO heat in the farthest part of the house which is where the bedrooms are. I called Bob Larsen plumbing (been amazing so far) and for $320 they showed me that they never installed the circulation pump properly. It wasn't even wired properly for the system to give it power and the controller was changed from the default of "circulation pump installed" to "no circulation pump" meaning for the last year and half my system has not circulated hot water through my house as it should when the boiler was on.
Just by the hot water 'rising' up the pipes alone. The machine would heat and power off, heat and power off. No wonder my gas bills have been $150! It seems like the tech from this company disabled it since I was complaining about how hot the house was getting but i'll never know SINCE NOBODY CALLED ME BACK. All I really was trying to do was make sure the system worked right since this was my first experience in a home with a boiler. Well, before calling I did talk to the state of Washington.
They seem to think they did not have a license for the scope of services they performed. This makes sense as to why they may not have put in a permit: they may not be licensed to perform the work they installed. I'll never know because Jenny hung up on me while asking them how they wanted to handle the situation. Her justification for me not getting calls back was that "i was not their customer".
What she means is I did not 'pay' for the services. Well, when their money was in escrow, the "owner" of My PHD sure seemed willing to talk with me at great length and even told me they hadn't been paid yet until the sale completes. She offered to send him a message and if he felt like calling me back, he would. I did threaten to involve the city or state in an effort to get them to do the right thing and that's when she brought up this review including words like 'slander'.
Except Slander is when events were untrue. All I state here is factual and happened. Bob Larsen also alleges that the way the system was installed will put more stress on the boiler (for a reason I don't remember) and my boiler won't last as long. I have no way of knowing if this is true or if Bob Larsen was just trying to gain my trust but I did watch him do everything and know that the circulation pump was not right.
Once it was connected, RIGHT AWAY you could hear the system circulating through and some air coming out of the bleeder valve after being pushed through the return. the circulation pump was vibrating, silently which is it's expected function. So, for Jenny, You say that I'm not your customer yet your people have been in my home? It should carry some sort of guarantee of defect for a time, regardless of if I paid for it or not or you expect me to hire someone else to fix a new install?
What a joke. You were paid a permit fee, shown on the invoice, and you did not submit a permit. If you did, I would have copies of it and be able to send the city on it's way. Believe it or not, I AM your customer because you carry a responsibility for the work you do. Hanging up on my just shows that your business does not know how to (or care to) deal with even minor issues and prefers to just ignore me.
The cheapest remedy would have been to work with me. Communication is free. So for anyone doing business with these guys: if you are homeowner and plan on selling your home or have additional permitted work done in the future, make sure they get permits and have it inspected. See the actual permit and sign off from the inspector. You could find yourself in a situation where the buyer of your home comes to put a claim against you because when they called the boiler company they told them to kick rocks, ignored their calls and just felt like they didn't have to deal with the issue so now you have a claim because they could not do the right thing.

We have used this company three times in the last two years. When we first moved in we needed them to replace an outside faucet change out our kitchen faucet. Ray did a great job, was very professional and didn't cha he an arm and a leg. Then about 6 weeks ago our hot water tank went out. Jason was here the next day and had it changed out by that afternoon.
Still a great service and reasonably priced. Then a week ago our washer stopped working. (All old appliances :). We had him come out to replace the shut off valves. He gave us options for the parts. Then did the job. Jason is our plumber!

Jason is not reliable and thrust worthy technician. I would never recommend him to anyone. He came in to my place to fix my boiler a few months ago then when I asked him again to fix it the second time because it was causing the same issues as before he never showed up. He promised to me that he'll come, I called and texted him few times but he never showed up.
I understand that being busy could be a factor here but why he gives false promises to people. I should have listen to my neighbors when they said that he's not thrust-worthy individual. I guess he did a "good" service to other people" from what I've heard.

I had a backed up utility sink in the basement. Called PHD based on their yelp ratings and proximity to my house. Ray was here at the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed my problem as an un-plugged sump pump. Plugged it back in and problem solved. Eeeergh that's embarrassing. Ray was friendly and professional. No charge for the call. I'll be calling PHD for any plumbing needs in the future.

I cannot thank Jason enough for all of his help. I spoke with Jason and explained my situation and that I needed an inspection done on the sewer line asap. His scheudle was already jammed packed but he really wanted to help me. He visited the property to see if he could gain access to the areas he needed to. Once he confirmed that he could, he made time to go out a second time to perform the inspection.
In addition, because Jason was so personable, he took time to understand my long term goals regarding the property he was inspecting and kindly offered advice in areas outside of plumbing and sewer. I greatly appreciate his professionalism and kindness.

My Ph. D Services Plumbing-Heating Drain Cleaning 3501 South 38th Street #41 Tacoma, WA 98409 Working with My Ph. D Services, Inc Plumbing-Heating Drain Cleaning services in September was nothing but a nightmare it caused pain and suffering and my blood pressure is up and they were suppose to fix a simple faucet leak and only came out to my house and made everything worst, after the plumber left my water pressure was gone, they didn't fix the leak instead made the leak worst due to the Plumber left off a part of the valve system (Sundance told me) and the water ran into my living room down the hall for days until I could get help from Sundance Services and when I called Ph. D Plumbing to come back to my house and complete their job they refused and contacted American Home shield informed them I didn't want them. Yes, I didn't want them only after they were rude and refused to fix the leak after I contacted them, I asked AHS to send someone else, My Ph. D Services, Inc. expected me to just leave the water leaking forever caused more damages after they left and then when I asked Ph. D Services, Inc. Plumbing to waive the fee due to they did not fix it, they said they would and now in November they are holding up all my new work orders and refuse to admit they waived the fee.
Left a message with Tracy on 11/23 to speak to the owner and my new work order for my washing machine with AHS are on hold thanks to My Ph. D Services Inc Plumbing-Heating Drain Cleaning, don't call them or you will regret it all they do is make matters worst and are liars, unprofessional, and refuse to fix their mistakes. My Ph. D Services ruined my Thanksgiving just piles of dirty clothes thanks to them! A nice lady named Bethany from American Homeshield contacted me on 11/23 and she said they cleared the fee and now AHS resolved the problems. So Thankful.

I had a water leak that another repaid man spent 5 hours not fixing. Finally Ray was called in from my PHD services and fixed my leaking pipe and a kinked water line in 45 minutes with no hassle. He was extremely friendly and confident in the fix and explained everything so that I understood what was happening and where we were in the process. I can't recommend them enough. Call them first!

My water heater of 17 years failed the evening of 5/9/16. I contacted American Home Shield at 1700 hours and they said "Jason" would contact me that evening. To say the least I was dubious, but to my delight Jason did call and said that Ray would be at our house in Kent between 0900 - 1100 hours. Ray was on time and ready to go to work at 0900. Ray assessed the problem (water heater was beyond repair) explained what was required to bring the installation up to code, pricing and left to obtain a new one.
Back in an hour he went to work. Ray is amenable, knowledgeable, and hardworking. My water heater was removed, replaced and heating water with-in 1.75 hours. Ray then took the time to clean-up after himself and explained the nuances of our new equipment. GREAT JOB RAY AND THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE!

My sewer tank was overflowing so I called another outfit to come out and look at it and they automatically claimed to know what the issue was and said it would be $4000k to fix. I didn't believe them so I called My PHD Services based on the other reviews I read. Ray came out and walked me through all the various troubleshooting options the problem could be.
He was patient and a pleasure to speak with. He found the issue and came back the next day to fix it. Ray was very informative and even taught me a few plumbing tricks. Their cost was a lot less than the other outfits quote and I'll be sure to use My PHD Services for all my plumbing needs going forward. The other reviews are accurate. Thanks Ray and Jason!

Yet again Jason comes to our rescue! I can't thank these guys enough. Had a overnight emergency and called a SW was only given one option which was going to cost me over 6k. So we did our best to wait until morning when I could call Jason. He was prompt and handle our problem for under $400. So thankful for him, his expertise and knowledge! I would definitely recommend him to others!

I have radiant floor heating and it's hard for me to find a place that can repair my heating system. I called My PhD today and Jason called me back basically already knowing what kind of heating system I have because he has serviced the townhomes I live in. He explained how busy he was but kindly fit me in his schedule for the same day. He took a look at my heating system for over an hour and advised on what needed to be done.
He also called the supply company in the east coast to see if he can obtain the part and to get an estimate of the pricing. With all of this help and squeezing me in, he did not charge me anything. Although, he wasn't able to fix anything I appreciate the time he took to look at my system and contact the supplier at no charge. Hopefully he will be able to provide me a reasonable price quote for the part that needs to be replaced. Thank you, Jason!

I can't say enough great things about these guys. Some of the best customer service out there. I was very pleased with the work they did and more importantly that they helped us in a pinch to at least get hot water for the night, until they could come out the next day. Every other company I called was so rude so it was a breath of fresh air to get a friendly voice on the phone during an already stressful situation. I will definitely use them if I ever need work done again and will refer friends and family.
