When we bought our house Target Security was already in place and while they are not a household name we decided to go with them. AND WE PAID THE PRICE! During the time we used them, the alarm mistakingly went off several times throughout the night. We called them several times but nobody can be reached outside business hours! Once we did speak to them they only offered to upgrade our system to be compatible with the radio towers for a fee.
Regardless the alarm kept going off and they would not send anyone for at least 2 days! So, customer service was an EPIC FAIL. In addition to our disappointment in customer service, we then shopped around for a new alarm company and we found a top provider who charges 60% less per month than Target Security. When we told them we were canceling our subscription they didn't ask any questions - the perfect ending for a company that in our view provided a far inferior service at a far superior cost!

If I could give a zero I would. Worst customer service ever. Zero response, lack of follow up, no accountability. We have had numerous issues and it always took forever to get through to someone who can actually fix the problem. We had a big issue a few months back - supposedly we hadn't updated our systems bla bla bla. Ok we fixed it but it literally took email to top management (without me knowing who is who) to get the issues fixed. Alarm would start beeping at the oddest times of day and night - and no one seems to have a response, or no one would pick up or no one is available to come check it. Stupidly I was convinced enough to stay with as "they are month by month, small business etc and not a locked in for 3 years like ADT". Well guess what i am switching to ADT.

We have used Target Security Systems twice now. First time was we combined two apartments in Manhattan and needed to seal one door and completely rehab the other. Now, they came and outfitted our entire townhouse and tenant area with stylish and high security locks. Everything looks fantastic and the hardware works flawlessly! I highly recommend hiring them if you are looking for reliability and high security for your home. You get what you pay for!

I bought a loft, my dream home, in Tribeca and called Target to change the cylinders the door locks. They suggested a new piece of hardware that matched the color of the doorknob, more expensive, but I said sure why not. After the installation work was done, I was handed keys that looked cheap, not the high-end keys common in luxury buildings. The lock mechanism was of a lower quality than the lock mechanism it replaced.
Not good! After calling Target back and failing to negotiate a suitable resolution, I called a different local locksmith who un-did Target's work, re-installed two high-security locks, and charged me less than Target. Bottom line, Target is OK, just don't trust them to balance aesthetics vs. functionality in your project.

AWFUL, RIP-OFF ARTISTS. DO NOT USE THEM. They will be very nice to you and pretend to memorialize your wishes in a proposal, but the second you sign the proposal, they will give you the least possible and charge you double or triple if you try to make sure you are getting what you originally wanted. Then they threaten and cajole and make sure there is always an additional charge to get what you want.
You can't even buy a doorknob from them, because you will show them the size knob you have and they will say they are getting you a bigger, better, nice one, and then they will charge you double and get you the smallest knob they can find and claim that is what you bought and there are no refunds.

I had an amazing experience with Target Security Systems and especially there technician David who came out on time and had my whole system set up in less then an hour. Then explained the whole system to me and how it works. A couple weeks later I had messed up one of my sensors doing some construction and he personally came out to fix it as soon as I called. Very cool guy! I would highly recommend Target Security Systems and make sure to ask for David as your installer!

I called the number to inquire information about security cameras for our building and warehouse. David made the process so easy. He actually came the next morning to inspect the site and determine what we needed. I mentioned this because other companies that I called, just quoted the project by looking at Google images. David arrived the next morning and explained the process of installation, software, etc.
All the cameras were installed within one day. We had to request some minor adjustments, and in both occasions things were resolved within one day. Great customer service, great communication.

Excellent customer service and installation. Our technician Chris came out to our home to install an alarm system today, and he did a great job. He walked us through all commands as well as through the use of our phone App. We were very impressed. I had a previous negative experience with ADT, but Chris has helped restore my confidence in ADT. Thank you Chris!

I just recently had cameras installed at my home. I was very hesitant about doing it. My husband kept pushing the issue. After meeting with a few company's we decide to go with Target Security Systems. David was straight to the point, no hidden agenda, no extra for this and that. He was very informative, wanted to make sure what was right for us. "The Crew "Tyler and Christian, showed up on time.
Which is a first for most workers. So I appreciated that! They were friendly and worked fast. Within two days, I had my cameras up and running. I didn't think I would like them, but I do. So the bad thing is, I had to tell my husband " he was right!" Great job guys! Thanks

David helped set up a 15 camera system for my restaurant. He definitely really knows what he's doing and from consultation to installation, everything was a breeze. The system is amazing clear, and we're able to zoom and view remotely. It's definitely helped our business be more secure, and given us peace of mind when we're not around. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to put up a system.

Overpriced. Poor service. Shoddy workmanship. Target installed expensive intercom for our building. In 2 years it has malfunctioned more than 6 times. They take a long time to respond to service calls, then charge for telling what the problem is before fixing! We already know what's wrong; that's why we called for service. Also mucked up front door with new lock cover. Anybody but Target.

About 5 years ago, we started a gut job renovation of a townhouse. After interviewing a number of companies, we hired Target to do a complete security and intercom system. Ben Herman and his team were involved from the very beginning. They designed the overall system, oversaw construction side of wiring, installed and tested all equipment, programed an extremely customized and user friendly interface and, very importantly, continue to maintain it after the completion. Ben and his team are extremely knowledgeable, highly professional and, in our experience, very committed to customer service. It's been a real pleasure to work with Ben and Target over the years and we would highly recommend them for any project, no matter how big or small.

I have to agree with Mimi that I would give zero stars if I could. I also agree with the other reviewers since 2014 that you should not chose Target Security. I was a loyal Target customer for many years, but I observed a major decline in service in the past few years. It seems to me that the high reviews from 2013 and earlier just don't apply any more.
I used to watch the FX TV show "Justified", created by the great Elmore Leonard, and the main character frequently used an old fashioned word, which comes to mind when I think of Target Security management -- "dumb-ass." I'll explain. Recently, my Target security system stopped working completely. Instead of Target calling me to let me know they weren't getting a signal, I had to call Target to let them know there was a problem and to get the problem fixed.
They wanted to charge me $400 to have someone come to my house to find out why it stopped working. For that much money, I could get a new system! It wasn't just the money. No one I spoke with at Target knew the security business or the equipment in a way that made me trust them. In addition, I felt that Ben and Guy just did not care about me or my security.
I found them to be rude -- interrupting me, talking over me, insulting me and even theatening me. I'm a senior citizen and I've been a loyal customer of Target for many many years. I do not deserve such treatment from the new owners and management! Target also got into a blame game, saying that the problem was the fault of their "central station." I explained that I was Target's customer and they were supposed to deal with the central station for me, but they did not seem to care.
It sure sounded to me like they were trying to cut corners by outsourcing to a low cost central station in an unknown location that wasn't very good, and that was my problem! After all this, I was worried about the security of my home and family, and I felt that neither Ben nor Guy cared about my security. So I called Protect America, SimpliSafe and other security companies to find out about leaving Target and getting a new security system.
Every person I spoke with at the other security companies was very knowledgeable and helpful. I also spent time on CNet, Forbes.com and other internet review sites. After hours of research, the impression I formed was that the Target folks were aggressively covering up a real lack of understanding about the security systems they sold. I left Target and ended up with a superior system from a superior company with superior service for less money.
When I look back, I think of Ben as a pretty bad businessman with a tin ear for customer concerns. And what word would I use to describe myself for not firing Target sooner? Yup. Dumb-ass.

If I was allowed to give zero stars, I would. As account holders with Target, we are in contact, I'd say almost daily. As we usually do, we send our office manager to Target to get keys made. Unbeknownst to me, a certain employee has a problem with me personally. I have never been rude to anyone at their office at any point in time. While my office manager was waiting for keys to be made, he came out and expressed a quite a few choice words about me in front of everyone at the store.
When she got to the office, she explained that an employee of Target had a message for me. He instructed her, in front of all workers and patrons at the store, to "make sure you tell that girl that I don't like her", in a very threatening and aggressive manner. She was absolutely embarrassed and from what I understand, one of the other workers that was helping with the order, was embarrassed for her. I'm not sure who this gentleman was, only that he was bald and his behavior is disgusting.
I reached out to all my contacts at Target trying to find out who this person was and why they had verbally attacked and embarrassed our office manager. No one responded. I anticipate that since Yelp now allows company's to respond to reviews, they may shed some light on this mans aggressive and unnecessary behavior, but they also may choose to ignore this attempt at any resolution.
If you would like to be treated with disrespect & disregard, you should visit Target Security Systems. Along with giving excuses about keys they make not working, their owners and management enjoy belittling its patrons

I wish our building had the experience of the other reviewers, but we've had ongoing problems since inception, from an unplugged system to inaudible intercom to no answer when using remote doorman. I would be glad to rewrite this review if the reliability improves, but as of this writing, the system has been a disappointment and the service has been prickly.

Cheers to the guys at Target Security. They have been able to fix an intercom system that others found impossible, as well as offer suggestions for improvement. They are honest and will work with whatever your issues are. I got such great service I had to take the time to write and recommend with all five stars.

I travel a lot and have pets and I needed a surveillance system to see what is happening when I am not there. As a renter I also needed something that I can take with me when I move. Benami personally worked with me to find the right security solution for me at a reasonable rate. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but he made me feel like i was a priority and helped me find something that met my needs. I'm referring all my friends here!

We renovated our Brooklyn brownstone and wanted to install high quality locks and security system. We heard about Target from a friend. They did a great job designing and installing network wiring in my house (all tenants can share cable tv and internet access saving a lot of money), as well as installing a Siedle security system and fire/carbon monoxide sensors. Their technicians were very knowledgeable and skilled and the owners/managers did a good amount of oversight. I recommend them.

I used Target Security to install an alarm at my house in Brooklyn. They did such a good job, you cannot even see the sensors they installed on the windows, the technicians we professional and respected my house. Every time I need to change a code or contact information they are very responsive. Highly recommended!
