Altair Solar

Altair took 6 months to complete our solar roof. It took 3 city inspections to finally get passed as the subcontractors would arrive the day of inspection not prepared. The communications with the project manager was poor until right at the end of the project. I understand there was a management change and we were not notified as all our email requests were not answered. My advice, don't go to Altair!

The installation took 6 months to complete instead of promised 4 months. We needed 3 inspections by the city before being improved. They use contractors to do the work and they arrive at 8 am the day of the inspection with a lot of work to do. They have had a management transition and requests are not answered in a timely fashion. Summary: they are more expensive than other vendors and you will spend countless hours calling and emailing to get the work done. The only job they were right on time was the billing. DON'T HIRE THEM!

We used EnergySage to research multiple solar installation companies, and we chose Altair Solar to install our 24-panel (no battery) solar system. We are very pleased with Altair's professionalism and attention to detail throughout the process. Before the solar installation, we discovered that our old roof had numerous water leaks and needed to have the underlayment replaced. Altair Solar was very helpful in scheduling the solar installation while our roofers were on site (it was a busy week here!). The solar system has been on for about a month and a half, and is working flawlessly.

Got a quote and proposal from Johnathan Tran who went through all the specifics of a solar instal. He quoted me $16,000 for 14 panels which seemed lower than most competitors. He showed specifics designs of my roof and how the solar panels would look. I thought it all looked great, so we moved foreword and I signed off on a loan. Loan approval went through very quickly.

As soon as I get the loan I get a call from Johnathon and he said I didn't look at your roof and Altair does not instal on clay tile roofs. I've had a couple companies come out and verify feasibility for installation, so I'm wondering why they could not. He said he would speak to a manager and call me back. Just received a call and he said he would have to replace clay tile with composite which would be considerably more expensive. I've already gotten a loan, are you serious?

After telling him I want to cancel he says he's very knowledgeable in technical specifications. But he forgot to look at the roof? These guys may have good installers, but they are really taking a chance with their sales reps.

I am a custom home builder focusing in Newport Beach. I contacted altairsolar in September to get solar panels for my own home that I built last year I finished. I was told the process would take a couple to get through with the city, and being familiar with the process, it made sense to me. In the beginning the communication was fantastic and in fact elected to turn off notifications because their communication was almost too good.

But then after a few months, I started inquiring about what was going on because I wanted to get the panels going. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, the company has been completely unresponsive. I even went directly to the city to see what corrections they had remaining before a permit could be issued, and it's almost as if they haven't done anything since their initial submission.

With the understanding that we are still in the supply shortage, at the very least I would expect a company after 4 weeks of sending emails and making phone calls to at least say something to me, but since they haven't I am leaving this negative review. If you expect to be communicated with and have any response whatsoever, I strongly suggest you steer clear from this company.

I had compared 5 other Solar installers and Indra the sales rep at Altair Solar was the most professional, honest, detailed and provided me a very competitive price. Indra at Altair Solar always picked up his phone and replied back to all my email questions in a very timely matter. You can tell they take customer service very serious at Altair; therefore I signed my project with Altair.

The project took around 90 days from signing the contract to getting my permission to operate with SCE. There were some minor issue though, 1) the service manager Larry wasn't able to get one of their technician to complete the stucco texture around the new electrical panel for over 2 months. I didn't mind because this was cosmetic, but after 3 scheduled appointments with no show, I began to question their customer service reliability. Frustrated I call Indra about this and he was able to work with the service manager and had a technician come out the next day to complete the job. 2) On the installation day of the panel and electrical piping etc; one of the technician broke a wall lamp fixture near the garage door without bring this up to my attention.

I would've appreciated it if they had told me about it and apologize. Overall I'm very happy with the quality of the system. Although there were some minor issues, Indra was always there to help resolve the issue for me and assure me that Altair Solar will provide 5 stars service. I would recommend Altair Solar to my friends and family and will tell them to ask for Indra as their sale rep.

Altair installed panels on my townhome. No one in my HOA had ever had solar panels installed before, and it took quite a while to have the HOA board sign off on the project. Charlie Kim attended one of the meetings and assuaged their fears, which got us the OK. Altair was also one of the only contractors that would install panels on my metal shingle roof.

Other contractors flat out refused or wanted to reroof a large section of my home. Altair did it for a reasonable cost with very little hassle. Altair also upgraded my electrical panel, and I have had several electricians come out to do unrelated work, and they all comment on the high quality of the panel that was installed. All in all, Altair was a great to work with - Charlie Kim was a standout - and I am happy with the work that was done.

Altair installed a system about 5 years ago. They did a great job at that time. Several months ago, I had one microinverter stop working. I have texted, emailed, called and sent messages through their website. Numerous times. I cannot get any kind of response from them. No customer service at all. Very frustrating.

They had a good sales process, prompt administration, and professional installers. I spent a lot of time researching local contractors as I didn't want to hire some faceless large national company who would just subcontract all the work out. There are a lot of good solar installers in our area but Altair seemed gave me a very competitive offer and used high quality panels and inverters. They also matched paint colors and purchased paint to conceal the conduit and other hardware.

Customer service is excellent! My solar system was installed by Altair in 2018. When I logged into Enphase's Enlighten on 8/18/2021, it showed that the system stopped working. I contacted customer service and got a call back from Larry within 2 hours. Larry stopped by to check our system on the same day. He reset the circuit breaker and the system started working again. However, the circuit popped again the next day. Larry picked up my phone call right away again and scheduled a service on 8/20.

It turned out that the problem was caused by malfunction of a circuit breaker in my main breaker panel. The staff from Altair Solar replaced the breaker, and he even went on the roof to check the junction box, which was functioning properly. The timely service is much appreciated! I am glad that I chose Altair Solar to install my system in 2018.

I called so many different companies for solar. Everyone was helpful but Oz went above and beyond and did a great job explaining everything. Almost a year since our panels have been installed and I am happy with the results and Oz continues to be accessibility when I have questions.

Got my system installed about 9 month ago, installation looks nice and clean and system produce enough electricity that my bill is almost negative for the. I think just a few more month should do. Did I forget to mention, price is very reasonable as well

My experience with Altair was fantastic, from the introductory phone call to the installation to the service activation. Every person I spoke to was knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciate their clear and transparent information about my project which helped me make good financial decisions. Best of all was their professionalism and quickness through the entire project.

From the day I signed the contract to the day we got the system on, it took only 9 weeks. This was a nice surprise; it's common for this timeline to be more like 12 weeks. We are happy with our 8kw system. I compared costs between companies prior, and Altair was overall the best value. Add that to their service quality and Altair is a great choice.

I had a great experience getting solar panels installed through Altair Solar. Oz was our sales person and he did a great job walking us through power options, helping us maximize our ROI and making sure we understood the entire process. We chose Oz and Altair because they helped explain the quality of the panels and the micro-inverters that they used.

Their price was not the cheapest, but I wasn't looking for cheap parts that would fall apart on me in a few years. Altair's team was professional and fast. Oz frequently checked in on us, warned us of delays coming from the county as a result of the pandemic, and made sure we understand each step of the installation. I ended up having to get a portion of my roof redone and Altair was able to suggest two different companies who also did a great job for us. Overall, I am really happy with my low power bill and I trust that I can easily contact Oz and Altair in case I run into any issues going forward. I have happily recommended them to many of my friends.

I strongly recommend Altair Solar for your solar needs. Charlie Kim, the main Sales consultant there is awesome and one of the best I've worked with. He goes to great lengths to explain the details (technical and procedural) around solar to you, walks through all the considerations and shepherds you the entire end-to-end process. Altair was responsive and transparent in their communications.

The install went efficiently and without any issues. The installers were very respectful of my property and took my preferences into considerations. Overall, I felt they did very meticulous and quality work at a reasonable price. I would work with them again.

Indra and Hana from Altair have been a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Their team handled everything from concept to installation and permitting. There were a few delays, but more due to local regulation than Altair. Our home is now fully powered by the Sun, and meets and exceeds the solar output quoted! Our monthly electric bill is $0, in fact the utility pays us!

The additional credit covers our sewage/water! We expect the system to pay for itself in 5-7 years. Altair is in excellent solar contractor and you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I have been thinking about solar for over two years. In 2018 we remodelled our house and we always thought to add solar since then. We want to offset our $200+ monthly bill. I have done a good research looking for the best company. One of those companies was Altair Solar based in Irvine, one of my friend went through them and he had a great experience so I told myself I can compare them to other companies that I searched.

I was contacted by Ibrahim Oz as he made the whole process of going solar very easy and smooth. He answered all of our questions and explained to us the different options that we had, never pushed us to into the contract until we were very comfortable with our decision making. Oz he's a sales specialist, he was very welcoming and friendly. He wasn't pushy and he was very informative.

To Choose a solar company wasn't easy but Altair solar made it really easy. They deal with integrity. The price was fair and reasonable competitive with the other companies with top of the line equipment and panels.

I started looking into solar in July 2018. I got 4 quotes and all were pretty similar in price. I chose Altair because I felt they had my best interests in mind. Khaled and Charlie actually came out to my house and took the time to analyze my slope and explain the pros and cons of the ground mount system I was seeking. My primary goal was to eliminate my Summer SCE $500/month bill.

I also wanted to use premium panels and inverter technology that would allow me to monitor the system. They were the only estimate that included premium LG panels and Enphase IQ7+ micro inverters. Do your research on the equipment to understand the different technologies. Altair was excellent throughout the entire process: 1. Plans and permits with the city and my HOA. 2.

Site preparation and city inspections for the ground mount installation. 3. Final inspection and permission to operate (PTO) with SCE. 4. Site cleanup and explanations of the equipment. My net usage with SCE from April 2019 to September 2019 is $104 and I expect this to approach $0 as we get into the winter months. My AC runs about 170 hours a month during Summer. I'm providing real numbers here as a data point.

The efficiency of your system depends on the angle of the panels. Charlie at Altair Solar will go over everything with you. They answered all my questions and concerns. Stay away from the big players and use a local company. The big guys charge more because their cost to acquire customers is high. At any rate, get quotes and go with a company that puts your objectives above theirs. Altair should definitely be on your list.

Altair is professional! I first started my solar journey with Telsa- Big Mistake! after 6 months of delays, and spotty or flat out incorrect information from their customer service office in Las Vegas, I cancelled. I price shopped (using SolarSage) and Altair was the best deal with quality panels. Charlie, Khaled, and Nader are local professionals who kept me informed all along the way.

They know the area and saved me $1700 for a main panel upgrade that Tesla said was required. They knew that there was a much less expensive alternative with an SDG&E RMA unit. Top notch installation and communication. I signed on May 9th and was producing energy on August 2nd (with a 3-4 week SDG&E delay). I would highly recommend Altair to anyone thinking of going solar.

After comparing 7 companies I pick Altair for both the price and professionalism. Unlike others that just want me to sign the contract Khaled actually came and make sure that there won't be any surprises later on. i would recommend Altair to anyone looking to install solar.

I never realized that the process of getting solar would be so easy. The Altair team gave the best prices around and worked with us to help us understand what would be best for us based on our usage. They constantly kept us up to date on what was going on with the city, the installers and what rebates applied and when they would be paid. I would recommend that anyone looking for solar give them a call.
