Volunteer Mechanical was established in 1992 by Dennis and Kimberly Wood. It originally began as a small service company backed by Dennis' 14 years of service experience. The company started by operating out of the Wood's home in Knoxville. As the company grew, a sheet metal shop was added in the garage. The growing business then became incorporated in 1996. One year later Volunteer Mechanical Inc. had out grown its previous space and moved to its present location at 527 Callahan Drive where it continues to grow.
Currently Volunteer Mechanical has a full sheet metal fabrication shop, large parts warehouse, full line of service and construction vehicles, welders, power tools, lifts and other necessary items to provide professional service and installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

We offer 24/7 service with competitive hourly rates. We also have a fully stocked warehouse and all of our service vehicles are stocked with many common replacement parts. If we do not have a part in stock we have access to many supply houses in town and online and can most often get your parts the same day, if not, usually within a few days.

Great company! They do excellent work that lasts. Sold me when they came to business to check out one HVAC unit and noticed that the adjacent unit needed some basic maintenance. I had two other companies come by to work on the unit in last year years and they all had blinders on, never looked around to see if any preventative maintenance needed to occur.
