I've had the pleasure of working with Color Box several times personally over the last decade, and feel fortunate to have been able to refer them to clients on many other occasions as well. I met Chae about 4 years ago as I called him to bid a job in our Tualatin location. My first impressions were good. He was intelligent, courteous, clear and really knows what he is doing. A week later I had an emergency to paint some stairs and railings and he and his team worked on Saturday and Sunday to complete the job for Monday morning. No extra charge.

I have since hired Color Box painting to paint 5 or 6 of our locations and they all came out perfect and ahead of schedule. The really pay attention to detail both esthetically and mathematically as you can see in the pictures on their web site. We have them slated to paint 4 of our locations for this summer. Now Color Box Painting is our go to contractors for all our painting needs.

Very bad customer service, including not returning phone calls or emails. Chae, the owner, who worked on our interior paint job complained about the project every time we saw him, always negative, not really what you want to hear when you give someone the job of painting your home. One visit he didn't even say hello to me when I greeted him at the door.

They left cigarette butts in our driveway and never cleaned them up. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The paint work was pretty good. However, I had to have him come back a few times to paint areas they missed, despite putting tape pointing out areas, including painting below all windowsills.

I recommend Chae Chong and Color Box Painting without reservation! I live in a 6-unit townhome complex in Portland. Our townhome complex engaged Color Box Painting to paint all six units. There are very particular residents living in my townhome complex and we had several meetings with Chae. At each meeting, Chae calmly and professionally answered the many questions thrown at him.

I was impressed that Chae personally and carefully researched the brand of paint that he uses and he explained the reason why he chose this particular brand of paint over many other brands. He helped us to update our color scheme. His pricing was reasonable. Chae and his crew performed all of the work exactly as he said that he would. We are all very, very pleased with the new color scheme and with the quality of the work that he performed. Chae is an excellent painting contractor and you cannot go wrong choosing him if you want a quality job performed for you!

We found the owner to be very patient and helpful. He went above and beyond with the littlest details. His work and final results were even better than we expected. It's so nice to find someone who cares about the quality of his work. Their cleanup was also amazing. They had to work around kids and animals and always had a great attitude. We are going to use them again for the outside of the house.
