Swim Club Management Group What is now known as Swim Club Management Group, Inc. (SCMG) was founded in 2002 with 6 lifeguards and 1 community pool in Huntersville, NC. While never losing sight of those humble beginnings, SCMG is today the leading service provider for aquatic management services in the Carolinas and Virginia.

SCMG manages over 200 Swim Clubs, employees over 20 full-time employees, and nearly 2,000 seasonal employees. We consider the size of our company an asset. Our goal is to be large enough to undertake the management of the largest of Swim Clubs, yet small enough to maintain the loyalty, the intimacy, and the responsiveness that we all treasure, and that has contributed greatly to our success.

This company bought out the previous company that serviced our community pool and added an opt-out line for purchase of pool supplies hidden in a 4-page newsletter. A newsletter, not a contract! When the community refused to pay the almost $2k bill this company locked our pool. On top of this, they messed up the chemical levels of the pool at the beginning of the season causing it to grow algae and reek of fish.

Instead of taking responsibility for this, they blamed our pool equipment. Eventually the pool had to be closed and drained to fix the situation. Notice how the positive reviews come from people who worked for the company, not communities being hit by newsletter bills. Interact with them at your own risk!

The management at Swim Club of Raleigh has exceeded all expectations. After a year of, generously speaking, sub-par management, what a relief it is to have such a competent, hardworking management company for our large community. From the pre-inspection items to the daily maintenance of our community's two large pools, I could not be happier with their quality of work, professionalism, and clear, timely communication.

Not only is Swim Club of Raleigh's service impeccable, Cory, Swim Club of Raleigh's general manager, provides knowledgeable, honest insight into possible future pool endeavors. It is comforting to have a management company that has your best interest in mind when dealing with two community pools that serve 230 units. -North Bend Homeowner's Association Board Member

I have worked for SCMG for 4 years and have loved every single one. It is a great summer job that pays well and is flexible around your schedule. Management is very friendly and always willing to help. The company values themselves of safety, cleanliness, and a great guest experience and this can be found at every single pool. I would highly recommend if you are looking for work or are looking for a pool management group.

I have worked for Swim Club Management Group for the past 7 years as a lifeguard and manager at different facilities around the Triangle. As an employee, SCMG has always treated me with respect while giving me opportunities to move up each summer to new leadership positions. SCMG provides training continuously throughout the summer to make sure that lifeguards do not forget the importance of our job. SCMG teaches employees the valuable lessons that come with having a job.

As a 15 year old getting my first job, SCMG encouraged me to advocate for myself without my parents which made me more independent in other aspects of my life. The General Manager, Cory Baldwin, takes the time to learn the names of each lifeguard in our area. SCMG not only advocates for their employees but they listen. They ask for feedback and provide guards with fun rewards throughout the season to congratulate them on their hard work.

The reason that lifeguards come back each summer to work for SCMG is because of the connections that are created each year. The friends that I have made at SCMG are lifelong friends.

We have used this pool management company for the last 3 years at our neighborhood pool. They have been just awful. We wanted to leave them after the original contract but they have an "auto renew" policy in their contract if you don't cancel within a 20 day period via certified mail in the fall. This year they: did not test our chemicals daily by a CPO as required by Wake County, did not staff our facility as outlined in the contract, did not have the pool open on time (2nd year in a row), and more.

Our water turned green the year since it was without chemicals. After being the point person on our board to deal with them this summer, I believe that they are simply over extended in the Raleigh area. The first two people who I met with pre-season to address issues with were either fired or resigned within about a month of the season starting. A new crew was brought in from out of town to get it back in order.

Unfortunately they too failed to be able to provide anything reliable. Our guards, their employees, didn't know who was running the show. I would never use SCMG again. Attached is a picture of our facility on 14 August 2019 during our season. You can see the water has turned green with algae.
