Irrigation
Report
Irrigation is often the most ignored part of landscaping. It is, however, one of the most important aspects of it. If you want your lawns and gardens to be green and healthy, proper irrigation is the most basic but the most important necessity. Home irrigation systems face a considerable amount of neglect and eventually can lead to expensive repairs.
Lighting
Report
Great landscape lighting can enchant you. It can create an atmosphere that's almost magical. After a long, hard day's work, a softly lit backyard or patio can be a welcome escape. Lighting is an important, but sometimes ignored, part of your outdoor space. Very few consider the important role that lighting plays in the look and feel of outdoor spaces on their properties.

John and his crews designed and built the perfect retaining wall for our property. Originally I planned on building this wall myself, but after watching John throughout the installation process, I learned there was no way I could have DIY this project. I am glad I hired Greenthumb for their industry experience and attention to detail.

I received three different quotes for a retaining wall I needed to have built in my back yard. Green Thumb Industries had the most reasonable price and actually helped me to save quite a bit of money. They really went out of their way to finish everything in a short period of time, some days even working until dark. They did a great job and hopefully I'll be using them again in the very near future for another project.

THE WORST EVER! I had them redo and extend a retaining wall for us a couple of years ago. At first the wall was wonderful, but after the summer rains came, down came the wall. They came out and tried to fix it and repair their screw-ups, but nothing they did worked. Every time we called they said they would come out and fix it. They never showed back up, $5000 later and I still have no wall. It's a complete disaster.
Now I am looking to have to tear down the entire wall because of their lack of workman ship. Who puts up a wall and doesn't install a drainage system? I can tell you who, PAXTON does. This experience has cost us a fortune and will continue to cost us until we get it entire wall replaced. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They will NOT Stand behind their work nor will they fix it. I have never been so disappointed in a company like I have this one. I really hope KARMA bites them one way or the other.

We did not have a good experience. To put it simply, dealing with "Heavenly Oasis landscaping" was more Hell than Heaven. We received very little return for the money we gave them. The owner (Jon Paxton) started off by showing up 90 minutes late to give an estimate. Then he showed up 2 hours late when it came time to execute the agreement. That should have been enough warning to avoid these folks - but we were stupid and gave him over $7500 to start work on October 3, 2017.
They would not commit to an end date but we discussed that the effort would take about 4 - 6 weeks. Our daily texts, emails and phone calls asking if they would be working today were nearly all ignored - we would usually go 5 or more days without hearing from them. Very disrespectful. When we would finally get a response it was that they could not be there that day, but would be back in the morning.
Then that next day it was always a different excuse - truck broke, trailer broke, lost phone (Not certain how that meant he couldn't show up), worker hurt, the flu, machine broke, pleurisy (seriously? he must have an excuse app on his iPhone). He showed up 4 or 5 times in 4 weeks - once at 11:45 (technically morning) but most times around mid afternoon only to be on-site for 2 or 3 hours.
We calculated that 20 hours of work was done in the month. He left materials in the road and rented equipment go unused. At the rate they were working, we determined our project would take well over one year vs one or two months. On day, we told them to keep the money and not return. We then had to hire someone else to complete the job at a cost of $4200.
If you have an enormous amount of patience and are willing to wait a long time for your project to be completed, then this is the company for you. The sad part is the small bit of work done was quality. They are terrible communicators with poor time management skills and are very frustrating to deal with. Learn from our mistake and avoid using Jon or his company.

I was so happy with the job they did for me 4 years ago that I hired them to do a simple sod patch in job when some of my lawn was killed by TruGreen. How many changes can happen in 4 years to make this company a mess. I was completely disappointed with his service. He brought out dead sod and admitted he got it at a discount. He told me he'd change it out when sod became available.
Then he asked if he could be paid when the job was about 60% complete and I was dumb enough to trust him based on the last job he did for me. Well, he has not been back since. I'd call and text and he would tell me he'd be out that week - didn't happen over and over. Weeks later, I finally had to take care of the empty spots myself. If you've got a landscaping job - try someone else. It can't be any worse than this. He also goes by Heavenly Oasis Landscape - so beware

Avoid these people: they will take your money, jerk you around the entire experience, and then try to keep wages they didn't earn by just avoiding you until you give up. After hiring them to surround our property with a fence and add in a driveway, we thought we were getting a real deal from some nice guys, but it was all an act. The minute they had our money and realized that they didn't ask enough, they tried to weasel out of their promises and contracts by frustrating us until we fired them.
What should have been a simple project turned into a dragged-out headache of neglecting services, toying with their customers in hopes of avoiding their contract, and refusing to refund the money paid to them after they were fired. Firstly, we couldn't even get them on the phone most of the time after they realized that they made a mistake and didn't want to stick to their promises. Paxton spent a great deal of a month doing hardly any work and offering excuses the entire time.
Before we knew it, they were a month over when they said it would be completed! We only got tired excuses like, "we lost a worker at the last minute, " "we don't work on holidays, " (after doing nothing for nearly a month) and "we have other projects." We were always being put off for work that they would rather do! Giving them the benefit of the doubt, foolishly and generously, we stuck with them as long as we could stand it in the hopes, in vain, that they would stick to their contract and do their work like a respectable business.
Not surprisingly, our hopes in their maturity were ill-placed. We had no choice but to fire them, and we were appalled at their reaction to being let go. With a shrug and a laugh, they admitted with their own voices that they under-quoted us and did not want to complete the project under the price they told us. In order to coax us into letting them go, they ignored us and did nothing until our frustration finally released them after nearly two months.
This lack of professionalism is appalling and gives private contractors everywhere a bad name. They said that they were "a legitimate business" and that we could trust them, but for someone we can trust, they have yet to return the money that they promised that they would. It's not as if I'm surprised: they have yet to keep a month's worth of promises, so why would they start now?
We are working with the Better Business Bureau right now to make sure that other people won't have to endure a company so neglectful, careless, and immature. Regardless of how our complaint goes, I offer you this: trust them at your own risk. They kept assuring us that "they had satisfied customers in the past" and that I could look up the testimonies.
I see one testimony here and it is a completely different story from people that we have contacted, customers and fellow workers alike, who are looking for their money back or payment well-deserved. Well, Paxton, I would prefer to be a happy customer instead of looking at other people's satisfaction and asking "why not us?" and wondering if the testimonies are even real (after all I've heard of how they really are, I'm wondering if they are even legitimate).
I suggest none of you roll the dice and just hope that they like you enough to keep their promises and treat you with a mature attitude. Just don't be taken in by their "good-old boy" act and smiles: it all goes flat when actual business starts.
