Pipes & Sewers
Report
Whatever the cause, our plumbers will clearly explain the situation and offer repair options. Many sewer and pipe problems require only a simple repair or clearing. If the issue is more extensive and you find replacing a pipe is the most practical solution, our professionals can install the new pipe using a variety of methods.
Faucets
Report
A dripping faucet is more than a nuisance: it's a money drain. Brandon was incredible! What we thought would be an easy 10 min. fix was found to be a much more complicated issue that took all afternoon. He was patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He worked diligently to fix the issue without any complaint. We are so appreciative that he came to our rescue on a Sunday morning. If it weren't for him we would have had major flooding in no time! The Pressly family thanks you! Highly recommend.

This is the best plumbing company I have ever worked with! I'm moving from Denver to New Jersey and am sad I can't take them with me. They have done a number of jobs at my rental property from rerouting an exterior pipe, installing a new shower drain, new hot water heater, and new pressure regulator valve from the mainline into the house.
I don't know how they work so fast but no matter how big the project is they are almost always able to get it started and finished within 1-2 days. Cristi Guias is the specific plumber that I usually work with and he's great!

My water tank suddenly went out and I needed help. My neighbor recommended Ben Franklin plumbing. I called and they responded promptly. An appointment was set and they showed up on time. I got a new water tank. But this does not describe the level service that I received. I was thoroughly impressed with not only their professionalism but with the dedication of the installers.
This was a really good group of honest guys. I was truly comforted to see the pride and dedication that my technicians portrayed. As crazy as it sounds, not only was I thoroughly impressed, I was moved by their honesty and straightforwardness. I recommend!

Called Benjamin Franklin to install a new kitchen faucet I purchased. I would have done myself but I couldn't get the old one off. Technician from BF was on time and courteous. He quoted me $381 to put new faucet on. That is crazy for that kind of work. I had no choice as other faucet wouldn't come off. Technician said he couldn't get the old faucet off either so he cut it off.
At least that made me feel better about calling for a plumber. While he did a good job the price is way too high. Asked him for quote to fix outside faucet that won't turn on and he quoted $590. What? That is crazy expensive. I paid for the kitchen faucet but skipped outside one. I did have a $50 coupon from their website. When I presented to him he said it was for repairs not installation. Doesn't say that on coupon. In the end the work was fine but at these prices, I'll try elsewhere.

These guys sold me a new water heater when I didn't even need one. You would think someone who makes $200/hr would have the critical thinking skills to assess a plumbing situation but it wasn't the case. I was out $4000 and the problem wasn't even fixed. On top of that their customer service situation is a mess. I talked to 5 different people over 2 hours and was never connected with a person that could actually give me answer to my warranty questions.

We had them replace an exterior frost proof hose faucet. The work they did was fine, however I feel like we were gouged on the price. They do not price per hour. The technician worked for 45 minutes and installed a $60 part and they charged us over $500. Next time I'll shop around more or just do it myself.

I called Ben Franklin after my basement flooded last year (Feb. 2019). My technician right off the bat was rude and condescending, talking to me like I was an idiot. He claimed the only fix for my sewer line was completely digging up the old pipe and installing new pipe and then quoted me $26,000. So put off by the unhelpful, rude and condescending behavior I was almost in tears before he left.
They did the work and charged me $600 which did fix the problem hooowever. if you have problems with your sewer line call someone who specializes in it. Garvins charges me $200 every 2 years to clean the line and I've had no issues since. Their technicians are extremely nice and knowledgeable. Best part: I didn't get suckered into 26 grand repair that ISNT EVEN NECESSARY. Get a second opinion.

Used this company on 01/22/2020 due to emergency situation with the water leak in one of my bathrooms. I got scheduled ASAP for the next available technician. Cristi Guias has made a perfect first impression by finding my home without any problems. He inspected my toilet and pointed to a potential future problems that might cost more to fix. This mean that he went above and beyond in service since we hired him to just fix the toilet.
He offered that he will run and get a new toilet and replace it. He demonstrated very friendly and professional attitude. We know that plumbers are not cheap at these days but I am happy with every dollar we spent. So if you hire Ban Franklin Plumbing service and your technician would be Cristi Guias - you definitely in luck! P.S. Forgot to mention that on top of excellent service we've got 1 year parts/labor warranty.

I recently called this company for 2nd opinion on fixing a shower unit after finding them on Angie's list. They came out the next day and told me it just needed a replacement part and not an entirely new unit as my long time plumbing company had told me the day before. Long story short. the labor and replacement part they installed only cost less than 1/3 of what labor and entire new unit would have cost.
The technician, Alex and his associate were very professional. Looks like I'll be using them in the future for any related plumbing needs vs my long time standing plumbing provider.

Did really good work for a good price however I found a chip in the sink but I didn't find it until after the glass shower door were installed by a different company so I didn't know where it came from so I told him that I knew Lowe's would exchange the sink for free and it was free but he charged me 680.00 dollars to install the whole vanity, sink and faucet and he charged me 326.00 dollars just to swap the sink out and the sink was free get a price before he does the work! 33

Not sure what to think. I just bought a town home and it looked like we might of had a leak in the upstairs bathroom. Somebody came over from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and cut a hole were it appeared to be wet in the ceiling and said yes you have a leak and quoted me around $3500 to get it fixed. I said let me think about it so he charged me $189 for 5 minutes of work.
I think that is high. Been check that area for a few days now and nothing is leaking. Wondering if I was getting scam. Would love to get my $189 back from them. I am not sure why the cost was so high for 5 minutes.

If I could give zero stars I would. Pros: - they responded quickly and arrived on schedule Cons: - they charged me $915 for maybe $300 worth of work (pull and replace one toilet and change the fill valve on another) - I called and emailed to discuss the charges: not one response - NOT ONE - I disputed the charges with my credit card company: BF has not responded to them either - BF finally responded by sending me another bill for the $915, but they apparently still won't have a discussion or stand by their work They are never going to see that $915.
I will not only never use them again, I will tell anyone I know not to use them. No integrity. Zero customer service. Mediocre work. Also, I used one of their sister companies - Mr. Sparky - and was very satisfied with their work and pricing. However, I will never use them again either since they are run and owned by the same company as BF.

I initially liked this company because they were very responsive. However, each additional request for service got more and more expensive. They were supposed to show you the cost of the repair from a book and that quickly stopped. They would right down the cost on the invoice but would not show me the cost in their price book. I had a valve replaced and that was reasonable for $300 bucks.
The next work I had done was some electrical work. This was $579. I had a water heater replaced for $1550. Mind you Home Depot would have done it for $1000. When I brought this to the attention of the technician he indicated it had to do with the quality of the water heater and their technicians. Now mind you, they replaced the old water heater with the same brand water heater the old water heater was.
This heater runs $500. So I also need my boiler fixed, the boiler needs to be replaced. I am initially told that $700 will resolve my problem by Jerod Or Adam. In any case they get the boiler running for one day and want me to pay more money because another part could be the problem. They wanted me to change the boiler at a cost of 6k to 9k. The fix for the boiler was getting more expensive and did not resolve my problem of needing the home to be heated.
I called another company they knew exactly what the problem was and told me the most would be $150. A big difference ($550). These guys will rob you blind! Go with someone else do not use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing! The will defraud you and rob you blind! I have zero confidence in this company and would go with another company if I were you!

Do not use. I wasted 27 minutes on the phone trying to make an appointment. The call center people were practically impossible to understand! One person was marginally literate. If this is their first point of contact, it is a *FREAKSHOW*. THEY ALSO CHARGE A $125 SERVICE FEE JUST TO SHOW UP. Avoid. Go with Hardline or Dr. Drain, forget Ben Franklin.

We had an extremely awful experience. Our water heater went out and a tech came over for a quote and to complete the work. He provided a quote but then told us he could not due the work due to a bad back. Understanding it was not his fault, the company should have sent a tech who could have completed the work. The next available appointment was not for 2 days.
We called to speak to a manager, no return call. The tech arrived for the next appointment and quoted us $2400 (double the quote from 2 days earlier) We called a different company (Applewood Plumbing) who pointed out all the same work as Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and quoted $1300. I would not recommend this company.

I did everything possible to not call these guys. I'm not a big fan of large companies with big overhead and a lot of flash and flare which typically includes overpriced services under delivered expectations etc. Evan was my technician and was very helpful on a number of fronts very knowledgeable and in fact I signed up for their one year repair maintenance plan because it was so cost-effective. He reviewed my waterlines sewer line cleanout valve water shut off valve and gave me council around shower drain access etc. I was pleasantly surprised.

Adam our guy came out twice. Most definitely spent the time trying to find out the problem with our water pump. He spent 3 hours to figure out what 2 other plumbers and the city could not. We ended up needing a part so we had to order and he came back to install it. Came back at exact times he said. He knew what he was doing and looking at. We will definitely be using them again for all of our plumbing needs.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing sent a tech out to do an annual maintenance on my water heater. Josh called me before my window an arrived promptly. He not only did the water heater inspection, but also checked all the other plumbing in my house. Couldn't have been more professional and even my kitties liked him. Great service experience.

These guys came out twice to fix a plugged line. After snaking and video camera they concluded that line was obstructed and needed to be dug up. They charged me $700 just for the assessment and then gave me an estimate of $7300 to fix. I felt this was very high as all they needed to do was dig down 5 feet and replace a 5 line, so I called for a 2nd estimate from a competitor.
The 2nd estimate from the competitor came back at $2500, and they had it fixed perfectly in 24 hours. $7200 vs $2500? Def a bait and switch type company, c'mon Ben Franklin!
