Very helpful! Even though my key had special specs, they were able to copy it and make my work life so much easier. They were very transparent about possible issues with the copy, but it worked just as well as the master. I really appreciate their willingness to assist me right before closing. Calling ahead for a free estimate was very convenient and informative, too. I was surprised how much they could tell about the key just from a picture. I highly recommend Sure-Fit for any key-related service.

My house has one bizarre lock and two relatively normal locks that needed to be rekeyed to be all the same key. Sure-Fit came the day I called even though it wasn't an emergency and got everything finished the same day. Great job at a reasonable price.

I came in for a quick key copy and learned a lot about the locks on my home from a very knowledgeable staff member. There's plenty of street parking near the shop and a few lots 2-3 blocks away.

Great locksmith, have used them for a decade. Went out of my way to stop by today at 11:25 and they were on lunch until 12:30. Please update your store hours. Still 5 star business, just a frustration.

Gave them a five + star since I didn't use them but (Jim) was extremely helpful in explaining my options and offered great advise. If this is any sign of how they treat customers, I would definitely recommend. Love his honesty and professionalism

Over the years it has been a relief to depend on Sure-Fit. From a challenging situation regarding conforming to condo rules while being forced to use a busted door handle to locks, it seems I need them quickly and they do come immediately with no problem. Every technician that was sent over the years was terrific. Never a need for a second or third trip back! I felt very good about them. In addition, we value their opinions about what is best. Truly great company.

Critical: Professionalism I called to get information about their service and pricing, but their people were rude and argumentative. I was shocked to hear how they speak to a potential customer. Totally unacceptable.

Getting stuck in a bathroom due to a broken lock was not how we expected to spend our afternoon. Michael was able to make a house call right away and tried a variety of techniques to open the door. He was very professional and offered to replace the broken lock with a spare. He came prepared and wearing a mask so we felt safe and secure. Do not trust their inspection of doors. They did an inspection on my landlord's condo door and said it needed replacing for such a small bent on the door. Attached is the picture. Their customer support said a small bent is indicative of the door's "structural compromise". I'd say this is indicative of their scam-like business practices. Don't believe me, then hire a private or state inspector and see what they say.

I am sure you would notice a huge difference. In addition, they wanted to charge me $2.5k for replacing the door. 2.5x the market value. I am sure not going to do business with them when I become a landlord.

Sure-Fit Security shows why small, locally owned companies are so much more valuable to a community than large impersonal chains. After returning from the hospital late at night, the lock to my front door broke and I spent a sleepless hot and humid summer night on the porch. I walked to Sure-Fit in the morning and upon seeing my state they gave me an electrolyte drink to help restore me and sent a locksmith to my place quickly so I could get some sleep. Thank you so much Sure-Fit!

Sure-Fit reached out to me and apologized for my the initial poor service after my previous review and experienced. I got a very reasonable quote from them for some locks for a local school. They are very knowledgeable of the many rules governing installing locks on classroom doors. I think my initial experience was an outlier and I do recommend them now.

We were delighted Sure Fit could send a technician to our house the day of our move in to re-key all the locks. However, we were a bit surprised by the price tag. The technician needed to go back to the office to collect proper supplies. He charged us for his time to and from the office--about an hour! Does it really take three hours to re-key the locks on three doors? Technician also dinged the front door when installing new lock. Might look for a more cost effective option next time.

They came out super promptly to fix a broken front door that wouldn't lock, and they do an excellent job making copies of a key we have that is apparently super hard to make copies of (we tried other places and they kept making crappy copies that didn't work). These guys are good at what they do and they're pleasant. Highly recommended.

After a change in staff we were looking to get new keys cut for various doors and installing new key locks on old doors. They were very accommodating. I was able to send them pictures of all of the issues we had and they gave me price quotes. They also did our Medeco keys. The technician, Michael, came out and he was very pleasant. Overall the best experience I have ever had with a locksmith company from the initial call, to my various questions, to coming out and completing the work. Will recommend them to others.

I lost the key to my bicycle hitch after a long trip from Florida to DC. I ordered replacement keys from the manufacturer, but these would have taken several days to ship and be delivered. In the meantime, I would have had to drive around with a hitch and five bicycles hanging from it. I looked for alternative solutions and found Sure-Fit Security on Yelp.

Very friendly and inexpensive key-cutting. I highly recommend them. I went in to get my car key cut after buying a cheap replacement shell online. The guy took two seconds and cut my key perfectly. I was able to transfer the button base and chip to the replacement shell, and it works like a charm. In total, I saved over $100 by buying the shell key through Amazon and getting the key cut with Sure-fit, instead of going to the dealership. Thanks!

So helpful! I lost the key to my filing cabinet and called Sure-Fit Security to schedule a locksmith appointment. Instead, over the phone, they walked me through the steps to find a keycode on my cabinet, which they had in stock. So I drove to the shop 10 minutes later and the key was ready to go. They said they couldn't guarantee it would open, but it was only $16 & worked like a charm! Saved me a few hundred dollars in a service visit. :

After trying to get a schlage key made at home depot and being turned away (no inventory)- I came here and got 5 keys made easily. Really friendly fast service and amazing inventory of Key types.

I don't think I ever meet anyone as patience as Carl in a customer facing position. I came to Sure-Fit today to pick-up some keys for the dorms at my job. Yes, the college babies are back from summer break. This was a last minute request but Carl handled it like a champ. Even in the mix of some miscommunication and certain keys he admitted might not have been cut right, his customer service never lacked one bit. Carl stepped up, and stepped in to make sure everything will be resolved. If you ever need any extra security measures or keys made, Carl is the man. The prices are efficient and the customer service is TOP NOTCH. Yay for Carl!

I came home and my key would not open the front door lock. I called another locksmith firm, and they sent out a tech who drilled out the cylinder and opened the door. He said that a pin the lock cylinder was broken and that a "bar" in the mortise ( a box holding the door locking mechanism) was also. He wanted over $600 to replace the entire lock. I took the parts to Sure-Fit, and within 10 seconds they determined that the mortise was OK and that all that was needed was a new lock cylinder for $38. They were very knowledgeable and professional.

Chris D unlocked a bedroom door with a keyed lock in a matter of seconds. I'd called at 8 am, he picked up promptly, and was at my home in maybe 10 minutes. I run an Airbnb and this can happen again with a tenant so I'm keeping this number in my phone sacrosanct! Good price. Less than I expected but in the ball park. Thanks for taking stress off the beginning of my day!

While visiting my sister in Takoma Park, she asked if I could be handyman on several lock issues. I called Sure-Fit, and spoke to "Carl", describing my problem: I had a 1910 lock with a broken spring. Could they repair it? I also had a 1" thick storm door. Did they have a lock to fit it? Carl asked me to send pictures so he could be ready when I arrived.

Twenty minutes later I handed Carl the broken lock, purchased his recommended storm door lock (which he rekeyed to match my other outside keys), and had him rekey a 3rd lock I was installing to match the rest. He showed me several different options (so much easier in-person vs. studying Amazon pages), and completed both the repair and rekeying within a few hours. I couldn't be happier. This is an excellent business.

My key broke in the lock of my front door recently. Sure-Fit came out quickly (staying in touch to update me when they would be at my house) and took care of my issue efficiently (explaining what they were doing the entire time). It was a simple fix that, in the unflikely event that it should happen again, I might be able to take care of myself. They entire process and interaction with them was professional and felt quite ethical. I would recommend Sure Fit from my experience.

I inherited restricted Sure-Fit lock systems at both my office and my home, so I've had a number of opportunities to interact with them over the past few years. At first, I definitely balked at the cost for making a single key, especially when I'm the kind of person who always like to have extra keys just in case. That said, the process you have to go through (just the first time) to open a new account is rigorous - I even had to bring in a copy of my deed of sale for the new house! I'd never really thought about it. but those $3.95 keys you can get cut at any hardware store are super easy for anyone to copy if they have your keychain at the auto-shop, etc etc etc.

With a surefit restricted key, no one can copy the key except our authorized list of users, standing in front of them with a photo id. I do feel a bit safer, honestly. Plus the staff has always been helpful, and I like knowing exactly who I'd call if I ever were to lock myself out or whatever.

I locked myself out of my house. Surefit was there quickly and got me in my house in about 100 seconds. I wished the technician would have struggled for 3 hours so I would feel like my $20 lock was a $300 lock :- Very fair weekend price! Job well done!

When I first walked in to the Sure-fit Security office it was not impressive because it doesn't appear as though you are going to find what you want. But I thought I should focus on their service rather their office infrastructure. And I was right. Their service is trustworthy and above average. The technician arrived on time and performed a very professional appearing installation. He also showed me how it all worked, cleaned up and headed off. Nice service.

The folks at Sure-Fit were complete lifesavers. I'd been searching for weeks (literally) for a place that would make extra copies of our apartment key but because it was an older key it was impossible to track down a place that could make the copy - that is, except for Sure-Fit! They made the key in under 2 minutes and were courteous and professional the entire time. I'll be coming back here for sure!
