1. If this review were just for our estimator Mike Emrich it would be 5 stars. He was superb, Mike treated us fairly and professionally. We had to battle our insurance company and he was with us every step of the way. When the insurance company sent out their own estimators Mike was there to represent us. Tremendous guy an excellent representative for universal. 2.
We like the final product so far, however the roofing crew did not clean up well at all. The project manager Brian Bower did try and clean up after them but we have still found many nails and trash. Brian did a good job in answering our questions and resolving any issues. Our main issues were the trash and the didn't install our third roof vent and missed one pipe protector. Brian caught these and had them corrected.
We like the final product so far, however the roofing crew did not clean up well at all. The project manager Brian Bower did try and clean up after them but we have still found many nails and trash. From A to Z this is a first rate company. Erin Barrett thoroughly explained the process so I would know exactly what to expect with product selection, scheduling and payment procedures. Project Manager, Brian Bower was the best. He stayed in communication, always let me know what was going on, sent me pictures along the way, made sure the yard was protected and cleaned up every afternoon.
Whenever I texted him with a thought or concern, I had a response, even on the weekends. He was friendly and knowledgeable. The job was impeccable and exceeded every expectation. The crew came to work on time, hammers ready. They were hard working and very conscientious. I highly recommend Universal and their talented staff.

I contacted Universal Roofing for a quote for a new roof. My experience with then was unbelievable. It started with Erin Barrett who came out to provide me with a quote. She did an amazing job in explaining everything to me, I understood fully what I was getting and how it what would happen before and after. My project manager was Tony Contreras who also was exceptional and explained everything to me.
My crew of 7 lead by Roberto was outstanding, they were on time, very efficient and completed the work on time as promised. They covered my belongings as promised and cleaned up nicely. I highly recommend Universal Roofing. I'm Immensely satisfied with the job they did. I love my new roof.

Very impressed would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Universal Roofing! from start to finish Fast attentive & professional! Love my new roof, Thomas project manager was right there to address any of my concerns, as was Mel from the office. Team leader Brian Bower was there with his men every step of the job! Universal Roofing and Contracting did an excellent job on my roof installation. Communication with Mike Emerich was excellent; he was always available, answered all of my questions, and was there when they were putting up the roof. Although they are not the cheapest, they were a great value. I asked that my new gutters be not removed during the installation, and although they usually remove the gutters, they worked with me to keep them and still do an excellent job installing my new roof.
It only took one day to do my entire roof, but they paid attention to details. Damian was in charge of the crew that did my roof, and he was GREAT! He always kept me informed of what they were doing for the day and even texted me throughout the day with updates. I would highly recommend them for roof repair or installation.

Our experience with Universal Roofing was very positive and I would highly recommend this company. Everything went smoothly from our initial discussion with Mike through the completion of the project. Brian, the project manager, did a great job coordinating the work and keeping us informed. The crew was great as well and finished the work same day. I would definitely turn to them for any future work that I may need done.

From Erin the Sales Rep explaining the timeline to everything that would be included in this new roof installation, to the crew picking up every nail on the property, this was an extraordinary experience. Ron, the site supervisor kept us apprised of the job. When it was determined that a our previous roofer, 17 years ago, took unfortunate shortcuts requiring over 200 sq.ft of new plywood to be installed, Ron, kept us informed of the cost which unfortunately was going to run more than the original estimate.
The inspections happened as, scheduled, the removal of the dumpster was done upon completion, the care that was given to our tender plants was very much appreciated. You will not be disappointed in the customer service, the quality of work and the responsiveness to questions or concerns!

After discussion with three other roofing companies, Brittany did a really good job presenting her company's products and services. Just her presentation alone convinced me her team will be the right people for my roofing project. Tony did an awesome job managing the project. He kept me updated on everything single detail for the duration of the project.
He conducted himself in a professional manner. What stood out today was the five gentlemen working on the roof. I was amazed that the that these gentlemen completed the project in about 12 hours. They started around 7:30 and we're done before 5pm. I'm very pleased how my roof turned out. I definitely recommend this company and this team.

Mike and Tony are a power team! My crew was on the roof at 7 a m.! Universal had communicated with me the day before about expectations, dump trailers and parking, and the crew was extremely respectful about foundation plantings and nail retrieval. The color of the roof was better than I had hoped and the repairs to this 55 year old, 1x12 board roof was spectacular. Pictures were taken before and after, and Tony and Mike were on the roof multiple times throughout the project, and after the crew left. My new roof was done by 5 p.m., dump trailer was gone the next morning. Quality and professional. Thank you Tony and Mike!

I got estimates from 2 other companies for review. Based on the detail review and professionalism of Corey the estimator I chose Universal. Tony was the project manager and he did and an awesome job communicating and staying in contact with me. Roberto was the team leader and he was efficient and detailed in his approach to doing the roofing work. His team was great and they did a great job of cleanup at the end. As for the office staff Becky did a great job adjusting to my desire for a start schedule.

Tony was our Project Manager and the crew he managed along with Edgar the Crew Chief - they were ALL awesome! They were VERY efficient. I have a large and intricate roof, but they got the entire project 95% complete in ONE Day! And, everything looks great with Zero Inspector issues! I am Very Happy with the entire Universal Roofing experience and will definitely refer my friends. Thanks URC!

They explained everything and kept us informed during the entire process. We never felt like we were being taken advantage of and are quite pleased with our roof! I highly recommend Universal Roof and Contracting. Our Project Manager, Tony Contreras, thoroughly explained the whole re-roofing process, and answered all of my questions clearly. He made sure I was comfortable with every step of the process. The entire installation team did an excellent job, removing the old roof, installing the new roof, and cleaning up all areas afterward.
The finished product is exactly as it should be. Also thanks to Erin, the estimator, for explaining the pre-project process, and clearly defining the costs involved. I am very happy with the results.

I had a flat roof installed by this company. i had listened to them on the radio and felt they seemed reputable. I had a railing on my roof which they removed prior to the istallation. I asked them about the replacement and they had "forgotten" about it until the day of installation. When I pointed this out to the foreman he had some members of the crew go to Home Depot and put the railing on.
Its 3 years later and i noticed rot on the railing. I was going to repair but it was beyond that. I called Universal and they had someone come out and I didn't hear back so I called again. I was given the runaround and never heard. I finally got someone who said they had no record of the railing and thus were not responsible. I was told I would get a call from the president to work something out but never did. I called repeatedly for weeks and no response. I am getting in touch with BBB

Universal Roofing did our roof in early 2021 and as far as the roof goes, it appears to be done correctly. Our biggest complaint is the terrible job Universal Roofing did removing all the roofing nails from our property. Over the past four months we have found literally hundreds of nails -- including two stuck in shoe soles and one in a motorcycle tire that cost over $300 to replace -- as well as ribbons of air gun nails, safety glasses and even a screwdriver. Was it done on purpose?
Probably not, but at the very least it's an indication Universal managers are not adequately watching the work the roofers are doing. And makes you wonder what else got missed. When we closed the job I would have given Universal roofing a favorable recommendation. But not now.

Had a new roof put on 2 years ago, everything went well. until we had a leak two months ago. called them, they sent somebody out to inspect and that guy says everything is fine. well, there's a leak. it's NOT fine. it's a single story house with no upstairs bathrooms so guess what? There's a roof leak. going back and forth with this company for two months now and still the leak is not fixed. they were right there and very responsive when it came to getting paid $17000 for a re-roof job but now that there's a problem we get the runaround. by the time this is eventually fixed we'll probably have to pay for drywall repair as I don't know if that's covered under their "warranty". not happy.

We cannot say enough good things about Universal Contracting of Naples. After Hurricane Irma, we began a long, arduous battle with our homeowners insurance company to replace our tile roof. Then more stress trying to actually get the new roof done when we put our home on the market and it sold in one day and our contract was contingent on getting the roof done before closing.
Everyone at Universal was so helpful from their Finance Dept. to their Field Mgr. and crews.but especially Brandon Barnaby, the Project Mgr., who relentlessly fought to get us across the finish line--which we did, just hours before our closing. Great job, Universal! Keep up the good work.

We had our roof done in March 2019 with Universal roofing. Ken, our salesman was amazing through the whole process. Everyone in the office was very easy to work with and they did a great job making sure the yard, etc was cleaned after like nothing ever happened. Our roof looks amazing and I love the color we picked! Would recommend to any friends looking to have their roof replaced!

This company did marginal work, left the property trashed. They trashed my gutters and would not replace but charged the insurance company for gutters. Spent 8 months trying to get gutters had to pay another contractor. Now a year later they have me in collections for money owed for gutters I never got and a bill I never received. I have now spent 2 months talking to their collections department to no avail. Getting a lawyer and calling the insurances fraud department.

My husband and I called Universal Roof and Contracting after Hurricane Irma hit us. We first heard about them on news 96.5 and ended up very happy with our decision. This is one of the only companies who offered to come out and inspect/estimate damage on our roof without a charge. Originally our appointment was scheduled for December (due to high demand after the storm) surprisingly, they were nice enough to call us when they had a cancellation and we were able to have them at the house 3 months earlier than expected! Patrick came out and inspected our roof.
We had a small leak during the hurricane and wanted to get a professional opinion on it. Patrick was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. The best part was that he was honest and did not try to up-sell us anything. He told me great news (that there is no damage on our roof and we have at least another 3-5 years of life left on it). We definitely recommend their service and plan on calling them when needed.

My original appointment with Universal Roof & Contracting was Sep 6th at 5:30pm. I was called the day before and asked if my appointment could be switched to the morning of the 6th because they supposedly had people going out of town and couldn't come at 5:30pm anymore. I couldn't do a morning appointment because of work. Being that Hurricane Irma was on its way, I figured maybe some employees were evacuating so I was understanding and was fine with rescheduling my appointment for the following week.
Fast forward to this week. My appointment was scheduled for tonight (Sep 14th) at 5:30. I got a call yesterday saying that the estimator would be in the area in the morning and the receptionist/scheduler wanted to know if I wanted to switch my appointment time to 11am. Again I said I didn't want to do that because I had to work. I was then told "Oh. um okay well we might have to reschedule again. hold on, let me check." She checked and agreed to keep my 5:30pm appointment for today.
Then today I get around to checking my phone as I was leaving work at 5:00 and see I have two missed calls and although I didn't recognize the number at the time, I had a pretty good feeling it was someone from Universal Roof & Contracting and that no one would be showing up for my 5:30 appointment. I had another call I was finishing up on my way home so I didn't get to call the number back before arriving home.
I get to my house at 5:28pm and naturally there is no one there and I find a business card on my door from the estimator, Archie Simon, whose number on the card matched my two missed calls. People make appointments at specific times for specific reasons. If I don't schedule a morning appointment, it's because a morning appointment doesn't work for me.
If you agree to a 5:30pm appointment and then don't want to drive back to my area of town at that time because it's not convenient for you, that's not my problem. It's your job to come to my house at the time that we agreed and not keep rescheduling or purposely showing up early to miss our appointment just so you don't have to make a special trip at the end of the day.

Beware of this company. They sell you by trying to go completely through insurance therefore you have to pay nothing out-of-pocket only your insurance deductible. 2 years later we have 3 leaks in our roof we were supposed to have a tenure warranty but they refused to cover. The flashing was installed incorrectly. Or should I say not at all. And they failed to put a cricket on a roof we asked. It's not worth it. Don't do business with this company.

The crew at Universal Roof and Contracting are top notch. We had our roof done by them after the hurricane Charlie and just recently we had our kitchen and bath remodeled. The knowledge and workmanship of the crew is amazing. We had lots of quirks with our house and they helped us iron them out and redesign the house to make a very comfortable home.

A friend had recommended Universal several years ago. When our neighbor need a new roof, I shared my friend's comments. Our neighbors added their rave reviews also. When we needed some repairs done, of course, I called Universal. The price was fair, Matthias showed up exactly on time, finished the work earlier than promised, left our property free of detritus and nails.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME AND HAIR Great roof product/ HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION WITHIN COMPANY and LOTS OF PROBLEMS during the job To start we contacted a few roof companys, Richard Smith which gave us a great quote he has done my families roofs for years and does a great job! Universal came out and we told them about the extensive work inside and out and roof problems, they suggested a certain roof product which is great, but the installation process was a nightmare.
They also said that they could take on some other contracting work like ELECTRIC and maybe drywall and other issues. Then after a week we are told that they are trying to get out of the contracting business and stick more towards roofs, ok we understand, and still agree to go with you all on the roof even though the bid was $7,000 more than our other bids.
So the roof work is said to be started in 3 weeks, thats fine we can wait. Then the roof gets pushed back another week, and another week, finally they send a crew for about two to three days, we went and got them breakfast every morning and couldnt have been nicer. Reuben was full of false promises and over commitment from the start, we had wood damage underneath the roof and were asked for more money for it, first is was $5,000 more but then when questioned more it suddenly was $800?
Then after the workmen were pulled from our job to work on others because they had alot of roofs scheduled then, they half tarped over the pieces that werent finished and left it. Well in florida during the rainy season on a leaky roof thats a HORRIBLE idea. OF COURSE one afternoon we walked into the kitchen and it was RAINING INSIDE OUR HOUSEEEEEE!
So i called Reuben like he said to if anything was wrong and he was like it didnt leak when my guys left its not my problem its (the other person who worked on it after my guys left, still someone else within universal) I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THE BLAME GAME I just needed someone out there to tarp the roof and stop the water from pouring in inside, and so he told me to call the other guy it wasnt his problem, UM DO YOU WORK FOR UNIVERSAL AND YOU DID YOU DO MY ROOF IT IS YOUR PROBLEM! so if that isnt bad as is, then he asked for the check and I said I had the full last payment of $7,000 and I GAVE IT TO REUBEN, he showed up one day and called saying they wouldnt continue work if i didnt pay for the rotted wood I said all I had was a full check for the last payment combined and he said it was fine and took it, Then I get asked from another guy WHO ACTUALLY CAME TO REPAIR THE LEAK, if i had submitted final payment and i said yes because REUBEN asked, i was a little worried thinking it had been lost and im not about writing more $7,000 checks.
Then after the work is finally complete i get a call saying they dont have the check and CAN I CALL THE BANK TO SEE IF IT CLEARED. Well it didnt so it was lost somewhere, I had it voided and resent, I havent heard back from them, not a THANK YOU or sorry, not even a lien waver or completion packet they promised they would send! OH we got their electrician to come out and give us a quote, great guy great prices, and then the day we call to schedule him they SHUT DOWN the electric part of the company? without even telling us. ALSO we had ceiling and floor damage from the water damage in the kitchen and we havent even received a call or email or anything about PAYING FOR THE DAMAGE. SAVE YOUR MONEY and TIME and YOUR HAIR! the only person who made this situation fine is TRAVIS, he is the best worker they have, he is honest, he jumps right on the problem and is willing to fix their problems, travis is you are reading this you are too good and too nice for this company!.$19,800 and a lot of stress Devin Ludwig

So i called Reuben like he said to if anything was wrong and he was like it didnt leak when my guys left its not my problem its (the other person who worked on it after my guys left, still someone else within universal) I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THE BLAME GAME I just needed someone out there to tarp the roof and stop the water from pouring in inside, and so he told me to call the other guy it wasnt his problem, UM DO YOU WORK FOR UNIVERSAL AND YOU DID YOU DO MY ROOF IT IS YOUR PROBLEM! so if that isnt bad as is, then he asked for the check and I said I had the full last payment of $7,000 and I GAVE IT TO REUBEN, he showed up one day and called saying they wouldnt continue work if i didnt pay for the rotted wood I said all I had was a full check for the last payment combined and he said it was fine and took it, Then I get asked from another guy WHO ACTUALLY CAME TO REPAIR THE LEAK, if i had submitted final payment and i said yes because REUBEN asked, i was a little worried thinking it had been lost and im not about writing more $7,000 checks.
Then after the work is finally complete i get a call saying they dont have the check and CAN I CALL THE BANK TO SEE IF IT CLEARED. Well it didnt so it was lost somewhere, I had it voided and resent, I havent heard back from them, not a THANK YOU or sorry, not even a lien waver or completion packet they promised they would send! OH we got their electrician to come out and give us a quote, great guy great prices, and then the day we call to schedule him they SHUT DOWN the electric part of the company? without even telling us. ALSO we had ceiling and floor damage from the water damage in the kitchen and we havent even received a call or email or anything about PAYING FOR THE DAMAGE. SAVE YOUR MONEY and TIME and YOUR HAIR! the only person who made this situation fine is TRAVIS, he is the best worker they have, he is honest, he jumps right on the problem and is willing to fix their problems, travis is you are reading this you are too good and too nice for this company!.$19,800 and a lot of stress Devin Ludwig

We had some roof damage from hail and Ken came out looked it over and gave us a great price on the roof. As we anticipated there was a lot of damage that was unseen until the old roof was removed. Ruben and his crew fixed all the damage and still got the roof done as scheduled, we were billed at a very reasonable rate for the additional work and are extremely please with our new roof.
Those guys worked their tails off. This is the third time I used Universal and they are the only people who I will use in the future. The last time was when the 3 hurricanes came over Orlando (2005? i think) and they redid my roof on our old house then, we since moved and the old house is a rental now and the roof is still in great shape. My wife was wanting new windows and we had Universal replace them and the outside noise reduction and ease of cleaning were great. Thank you Universal for another job well done

The experience started out great. Ken came out quickly after a storm seriously damaged our roof. Ken is quite the salesman and he presented his comprehensive excellent services very well. As our roof was damaged by a storm this would be an insurance job and as such Ken promised it would not cost us anything out of pocket (except of course the deductible on our policy) this turned out to be a key selling point. Universals quote was very high, twice as much as competitors, so the insurance company of course had an issue with the Universal quote.
The adjuster had to go back and forth with U-Roofing for about 3 weeks because the cost were so out of line. Anyway this delay led to the next delay (It took them nearly 6 weeks just to begin the job.this is after U roofing promised us really quick service as we had a hole in our roof from the storm. It spirals downward from there.the job was subbed out to incompetent roofers.
They were largely unsupervised, messy and simply did inferior work. Oh yeah forgot to mention that they failed to cover/protect the roof properly while they were installing so when the typical afternoon torrential rain hit one afternoon, it poured rain into our house for an hour destroying drywall ceilings, paper-work, ceiling fans, pocket lights.
I could go on and on as one disaster led to the next. I would never recommend this company. The customer service was the worst, they took forever to complete the job, they tried to collect more money from us after collecting a Kings ransom from the insurance company, the workmanship was inferior and they charge my insurance company twice as much as their competitors. Buyers beware!

I hired Universal Roofing and Contracting for stucco repair to the outside of my home. I had a 20 ft long crack that was unsightly. I contacted four separate companies to bid on the work. Universal Roofing contacted me immediately (something two other companies including Stucco Rx failed to do at all), scheduled an estimate that fit my schedule, and completed the work as requested.

Installed my roof 2 years ago and did a good job. Fast forward to now 2 years later and I am super disappointed. I called because my $14000.00 roof is turning green they came out and told me it was the worst they had seen and that they would put a claim in for the warrantee. After three month of waiting And getting no response to my emails I am now told I need to put in the claim myself and I am given a phone number to call.
I asked Jared on his radio show how they would handle this. Jared states his company (universal roofing) would be with you to fill out the claim and help you as the paperwork is complicated if you are not familiar with it. Not what they have done. I also called for an estimate on some siding repairs and after 3 weeks I have not gotten the estimate yet.
When I call I am told the person dealing with it will call me I am still waiting one week later. It seems to me that now that they have grown they are just as irresponsible and unreliable as every other company out there. Did not expect this from them as I thought they were different. Will not be recommending them to anybody else again. I have many jobs for them to do but I guess I'm back to square one.

My roof was recently replaced by Universal Roof and Contracting. I chose them after interviewing five other roofers, and I am very happy with the choice I made. They are an experienced, knowledgeable and very professional team. The work was done expertly, quickly, and with good clean-up. They were responsive to any questions or concerns I had.

They showed up on time for the estimate and seemed professional. I quickly felt the pressure of an "upsale" on the accessories, but was still interested in an estimate. I was told by the salesman that they are the best company in town and probably the most expensive. Well, I waited for an estimate and never heard back after 2-3 calls. I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I can not provide a review concerning workmanship. However I am reviewing my brief experience with them. contact this company to get an estimate for some work. I was told that they could not provide an appointment for an estimate after 5:00 PM when I would be home from work. So I agreed to a 2:30 PM appointment for the next day and took off work to be there.
The Estimator was a no show and when I contacted the office around 3:10 to see why, they said that they were trying to reach me but didn't have my information anymore to contact me. Which is it? They lost my information so therefore couldn't contact me? Or didn't contact me and used an excuse of losing my information? How could they be trying to contact me if they didn't have it.
What is even worst is when I called them the day before and gave them my information once, I was put on hold for ten minutes and when another person answered, I had to give it all a second time.
