I don't write reviews unless they either exceed my expectations or aggravate me to a point of "Really?" From my first call to set up an appointment to rekey our locks, to the work being completed, let me just say the experience was a combination of humor, straight up honesty ("I didn't answer my phone quickly because I wasn't sure you weren't spam" and "I don't have a receptionist so I need to do paperwork in the morning if that's okay with you), to complete efficiency.
Both my husband (who is almost never impressed) and I enjoyed meeting Darrell and his assistant. Once he got to our house, I think the whole process took half an hour. Very impressed!

Found Darrell on Yelp about 10:45 pm one night when we found ourselves locked out of our new home we just purchased two weeks prior. Thought we needed an emergency visit but Darrell taught my wife how to break into our new house over the phone. Brilliant and informative! I told him we'd call him back when we were ready to get everything straightened out.
Fast forward about 90 days and I called Darrell back to come install new front and garage door mechanisms. He came right on time as promised and completed all work professionally and efficiently at a fair price. I realize now I just added to the value of my home in addition to improving our usability.

I just had an excellent experience with Darrell's Locksmith Sarasota when I accidentally locked myself out of house. After calling him, he asked questions and was over in a short amount of time. He was professional, calm, and an expert. He took great care in assessing the situation and examined all locks. He resolved the issue in a most professional manner. I highly recommend him! Darrell replaced six locks, fixed two, and opened a filing cabinet for me. But most of all, he spent a lot of time brainstorming with me about how to repair our front door, which is massive, hand-carved and custom built, with some unusual features on the locks and handles. Once we had decided on a plan, he did it and now it works perfectly. He's a straight shooter and has fair prices.

He came out and looked at our door. The lock was broken and he claimed we needed to contact a specialty door company to fix it because it was a custom door. He charged $70 to tell me he couldn't do it, and the parts I needed had to be special order. I asked several times if they were in stock nearby, which he replied no. He left. I called another locksmith who fixed it in 10 minutes

We just purchased a home in Parrish and needed new locks.not so much because we wanted new keys but because none of the doors stayed locked. We called Darryl and he and his apprentice, Jill came out and worked as a fabulous team. Not only did they change out the locks, they repaired the issues with the doors as well as offered sound instruction and advice. Love these guys! Mad skills. Super nice. HIGHLY recommend and will definitely hire again!

Super awesome! So fast! Called Darrel, Darrel told me to call Keith. Called Keith and he was to my house in 10 minutes to let my dumb butt inside after I managed to lock myself out. These guys were fantastic. Squeezed me in next day as I had painters at the house and needed to coordinate the changing of the door hardware at the same time. We purchased a condo in Oct & wanted the locks re-keyed the same day we closed - They were able to accommodate our timeframe & they were exactly on time. I didn't actually end up paying for a service from Darrell, but still received great customer service from him! My husband and I just moved into a new house and, for the life of us, couldn't figure out how to lock our stationary French doors. I was doing Uber and dropped off a client at the Ritz Carlton and went in to give her some items she left in my car. The car was running and the drivers door was unlocked. It was a hot day and the air was running full blast and I left my phone in the car. When I came back to my car and pulled on the door handle it broke off in my hand, and couldn't open the car!
I asked the greeter on duty to call me a locksmith, the best in town. He told me he contacted Darryl's because they were rated very high and now I know why! He said he would be there in 15 minutes, true to his word he was there in 14 minutes and 30 seconds. The other 30 seconds it took to unlock my car! Very nice guy and I would have gave hime more stars if I could! Scott T

Recently returned to our home that had been rented for sometime. We needed to have the locks changed out promptly because of the previous tenant. Called Darrell's and they were at the home within 45 minutes. No crazy charges, and service was top-notch! If you're looking for someone reliable and knows their skill, look no further! Called Darrell on a Sunday and he was willing to come right away to help get our house unlocked. He was easy to deal with and communicate was easy. He came out at the time I picked out and was on time. He was able to pick the lock in under 15 min and only charge us $60. Most places charge over the just to come out. We were very happy with the whole process and definitely recommend Darells for your locksmith needs.

This is why I always use Yelp. Darrell has earned his 5 star reviews and now has mine to add to the total. I have a custom made desk that got locked during our move and the skeleton key was nowhere to be found. I called Darrell and despite saying I was not in a rush he was over in 10 minutes. Since it was a skeleton lock it was a bit more difficult to open but Darrell stayed at it until he got it opened. He tightened the opening latch and adjusted the catch. I am definitely a happy customer. Highly recommend!

My family has a house on Siesta Key that has four sliding glass doors. When we arrived in town the lock on our sliding door from the den out to the pool area was broken. Thankfully Darrell came out and fixed it pretty fast. If you have a high traffic door that isn't in working order or really any other lock problems I'd definitely recommend this company. A+ work and extremely nice! Fixed in a jiffy.

Darrell took care of 2 key resets for us and took care of getting some old Baldwin locks to work. Offered good expert advise about replacing old Baldwin lock sets. Very pleasant and helpful! We called him because he has excellent reviews and he really knows his stuff. Very helpful and goes the extra mile to get everything to work the way it should. Would highly recommend.
