Express Roofing

TL;DR Express Roofing is the best contractor I have ever worked with. The home improvement industry is full of people ready to overcharge and scam you, it's unfortunately a fact. It's the industry that has the highest number of unsatisfied customers, and we quickly learned why. We've had contractors not show up for weeks at a time, we've had contractors attempt to scam us out of over $10K of insurance money just because they knew how much we received from our insurance company, and we even had a company try to pressure us into a new roof that would've cost $40,000 (for our 1200sq/ft home). Enter: Express Roofing.

We got 5 different roofing quotes when it was time to focus on that aspect of our home. Every other quote was reasonable, and the companies seemed reputable. But Jeremy from Express Roofing offered something different from the rest. Not only was he not a salesmen looking to earn a commission if we signed right away, but he was representing his own personal family business.

His father Rene is the owner of the company, and Jenna, who I believe is Jeremy's sister, handles the office work and was the one who provided the estimate documents and scheduling. We decided to go with Express Roofing because of the fact that they are a small, local, family owned business and have been for many years. It also helped that their quote was very reasonable, and they could start the project quicker than anyone else.

They gave us an estimate of when the project would start, and it lined up perfectly with when we expected to get financing from our bank. However, we received a call about 3 weeks before our estimated project start date letting us know that they can actually start ahead of schedule. Normally that would be great, but we knew our financing wouldn't be ready until after they had completed.

I spoke with Rene and he said it's okay if we waited until after the work was done to pay. Their crew (non-subcontractors which is very important), completed the project in 3-4 days. They were the most polite crew that we have ever had work on our home, which is saying a lot when you consider how disruptive a new roof can be to the people living inside of the home. Roofing is also a very messy process. However, if you walked around our yard after they had cleaned up, you would have never known they were even there in the first place.

Not only that, but I came outside at one point and saw that one of the workers was repairing loose boards on our back gate - something that was already broken when they arrived! The new roof looked perfect, and the crew did an amazing job on every single aspect. This is when we ran into an issue. We found out that due to our bank being understaffed, our financing was being delayed.

I quickly updated Jeremy and we agreed on paying half now, and half in about a week when the bank finished processing the loan. A week goes by, and the bank still isn't done. I know how much of a problem this is because Express Roofing needs the money to pay their workers and pay for the materials. We fully expected to be sent to collections due to our delay in payment, but right away Rene contacted me.

He told us that he built his company on understanding, and if they are a blessing to each of their customers surely it will come back around and allow his business to prosper. He said they are okay with waiting a little bit longer until the bank is able to finish the loan processing. If that doesn't convince you to hire Express Roofing for anything you might need, I don't know what will.

They are a living embodiment of the ever dwindling American Dream. A family run business that is more concerned with treating their customers the right way than they are making as much money as they can. I'm sure I don't have to draw a distinction at this point, but that is something that you will never, ever find when dealing with any kind of corporation. The home improvement world did its best to ruin my family's excitement about our small fixer-upper, but Express Roofing repaired that damage overnight.

Searching for a roofing company in AZ can be a challenge. The family at Express Roofing made it very easy. Jenna was great from the very first call. She answered all our questions and I had a lot of them. She detailed the process that they would go through and was very open to receiving calls or emails through the whole process. Jeremy then came out to our house and jumped up on the roof and gave us a very detailed report and that included a great video of our roof.

He was able to answer all the questions we had about some specific issues with our roof. Then Express Roofing sent a detailed report of what the job would require and cost. It was easy to read and understand. After making the choice to go with the Express Roofing Family the contractors came out explained how they would approach the job and work around our house.

They were fantastic as they worked on the roof. They were respectful with the time they arrived and cleaned up up after each of work. Rene came each day and checked on the progress of the job. On the last day talked to us about it about the roof and some the specific things we wanted with the job. He showed and explained to us what they did. He spent time answering our questions and making sure we were happy with the final product.

It was such a pleasure to the family at Express Roofing do our roof. They treated us like actual family. We felt blessed to find and use the Express Roofing Family. Rene, Jeremy, Jenna and their crew were all wonderful to work with. Jeremy's estimate process included videos and photos of the current condition of our roof. He took the time to explain the details of their process. The estimate was clearly laid out and very thorough, and competitively priced. There were no hidden charges or fees, and they even gave us a credit for unused materials that were included in the estimate.

The roofing team were such a pleasure to work with. Given the nature of how messy this job can be, they worked to ensure that our yard and pool were protected and cleaned up at the end of each day. They took the time to answer questions as the project unfolded. Rene came out each day and took video footage with a drone to give us status on their progress, and even the final project completion.

That was extremely helpful and unique to this company. They take ownership of the roof after the job and if we have any other contractors on the roof for any reason Express will come back out and check the condition of the roof as part of their warranty coverage. We highly recommend this company for any roof work. They were all a pleasure to work with and it was clear to us they truly love what they do and value their client relationships. We found we needed our roof repaired when we noticed the patio cover was disconnecting from our roof/house. Called three companies. One stood out, Express Roofing. Jeremy was prompt for his appointment and provided a detailed estimate with an interesting video. When I did need to ask questions Jenna was very friendly and helpful. Always got my concerns addressed.

Their crew was delayed by a day but they worked very hard and full days. Finished ahead of schedule. Rene, the owner, was here often, checking on the work and communicating with us. We have used Express Roofing on two homes now and are extremely satisfied! Our most recent home was in Scottsdale and had a 30-year old roof; we knew purchasing it we would be proactive and just have the roof replaced. Express Roofing came out and as per normal did an extensive inspection and provided us a detailed report of what was found and multiple options for our new roof.

They weren't the cheapest but are extremely competitive to other quotes, yet they offered superior materials and much more in-depth work. We had a new roof in a week and they did an outstanding job! They are prompt with their schedule, and they are detailed in their work (years of experience) and site cleanup. An investment into a new roof is a huge deal, and it can be stressful.

My neighbor employed Express Roofing a year or two ago. She said she was satisfied with the work and this recommendation led me to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Joe phoned me ahead of the appointed time to say he was on his way. He arrived promptly, inspected and photographed the flat roof and the ceiling area where I first noticed indication of a leak.

He then showed me the photos and, after discussion about repair materials I requested a written estimate. I received that later the same day. I called the office about 5 days later to schedule a date for the work to be done but there has been no response to my request. There is no excuse for this discourteous and disrespectful treatment.

Express Roofing is easily the best company I have had work at my home. First and foremost, they did an amazing job. I had a complete reroof done. At every step of the way, from the office staff, roofing crew, to the owner, I felt like I had their undivided attention. Every contact with Express was courteous and professional. Each day the crew walked the jobsite and picked up all debris. They paid special attention to the back yard and even covered the pool to prevent contamination. Getting a new roof is a scary prospect - not just because of the money involved, but also because of the impact a bad contractor can have on your home. I did a bunch a research and obtained three estimates from the resulting list. I chose Express Roofing because of the way they differentiated themselves from the rest. All bids were about the same, but these folks addressed attic venting, plywood repair, and painting differently from the others.

Please DO NOT hesitate to use them, or at least obtain a quote/inspection and see if you don't find the same things. They did the job quickly, professionally, and cleaned up EVERY day after work. The owner even came out a couple of times to make sure things were going well from my perspective and to answer any questions.

Had an absolutely outstanding experience using Express Roofing to get a new cedar roof on my older historic neighborhood home. From calling/working initially with Jeremy for estimate logistics, thorough follow up proposal sent by Jenna, personal pre-start assessment by the owner Rene and great on the ground project execution daily from foreman Ricardo/team.

We used Express Roofing to replace our roof earlier this year. We had a great experience. Considering all the craziness that 2020 has brought they worked with us on making sure we could complete our project within budget and ASAP (we had a leak). They did an awesome job - but best of all they were super responsive and comprehensive. I highly recommend.

We called because we had a tile break off our roof. We only needed the one tile replaced. After the guy left (took pictures), the company called and scheduled the replacement. We wanted to know the cost and they said it was free. During this time, we knew a new roof was not on the table, but when the time comes we will definitely consider this company.

The guy who came to fix the roof did check to see if there was any other damage that would need to be fixed (one other area) and he fixed that one as well. I was worried they would fix the roof and then charge us. He didn't. I was quite impressed with them.

From my first contact, they responded in a timely manor and communicated often all along our process. Company focused on speed vs quality. Picked up a trash can lid full of nails and metal after job completely. Took me 15 mins with a push magnet. They supposedly did this but somehow missed 5 pounds of sharp metal. Once you pay them good luck getting anyone to respond back if you have issues. First issue took me 3 months after countless texts and calls. 2nd issue I gave up after another 3 months.

Always "too busy" 1.5 years later I hired another roofer to replace the flashing that Express didn't replace because the house was "newer than 1920". Despite it looking like garbage I was never given the option to replace. I got sick of looking at it and found someone to fix it. 3 roofers have never heard of leaving flashing when you're getting a new roof. Penny wise and pound foolish. Would recommend this company for a house flip but would not for your personal residence. Better to pay a little more for better quality work.

We recently had our flat top roof resurfaced and Express Roofing did an outstanding job from beginning to end! We had to handle this project remotely as we were out of town for a few months. This was difficult for us at first as we like to be very hands on with projects. We felt completely at ease leaving and having Express Roofing take care of our home while we were gone. Jenna in the office was an excellent communicator, Jeremy's visit to our home for our bid before we left was extremely professional and Rene (the owner) and his crew kept in contact with phone calls, pictures and a drone video!

Too popular or understaffed and therefore too slow to respond, takes them multiple weeks just to come out and estimate or inspect. Had quotes from four other roofing cos before there guy was even scheduled to come look. Considering that lag time I would hate to see how long before the job starts.

We bought a home and found out after closing that the roof leaked and need to be replaced. There was 2 layers of roofing material on our roof which increased the cost of replacing it. Express roofing staff, Jeremy, Jenna, and the owner, Rene were so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, understanding, and their roofing staff. all of them were very professional, hardworking, and considerate of our property.

We gutted our home and of all the contractors we have had here over the last 3 month, Rene's team was the cleanest. They did a fantastic job of making sure our exterior was left prestine. Express Roofing redid our original (1988) tile roof, including all new tile, in March 2018. Rene, the owner, is as passionate about roofing as Giada is about Italian cooking. Rene has been in the business a long time and I would not hesitate to say he knows as much or more about tile roofs as anyone in the business. Express's estimate included many extras that the other four companies that provided estimates did not, so check the details carefully.

I liked, too, the fact that Rene did not want any money down until the day work started. That was a big plus for me. I give 5-stars for the quality of workmanship. Everything went exceptionally well and our roof remains as leak free as ever and looks very up-to-date. I could not be more pleased. I give 3-stars for the administrative follow-up. Although touted as one of their strengths, daily drone videos did not happen.

I did not receive a video until some time after the job was complete. It took a long time to get our warranty paperwork, both for Express's labor coverage and the underlayment material manufacturer's warranty. I finally got Express's warranty after about a month and several e-mails. More e-mails over several months to Express's office about the underlayment material manufacturer's warranty brought no results, so I finally called the underlayment material company myself.

I had the document in five minutes via e-mail. Also, on the final day of work, when I paid Rene the balance owed, he stated that he wanted to buy my wife and I dinner. We did not think that was necessary as both parties had completed the contract as agreed to. He insisted and we gave him the name of a restaurant we enjoy. That was nearly 5 months ago and we are getting hungry. You'll get excellent workmanship at a competitive price with Express Roofing. Just be prepared for frustration with their office in getting all the final documents.

These guys are the greatest! We just had them do a total reroof and makeover of our fascia board. We picked Express Roofing from a total of 10 companies who bid on our project and we could not be more pleased. Going the extra mile is what makes Rene and his crew stand out. We had a couple of bumps in the road with some unexpected work that needed done (replacing rotted out skylights) and this is where their professionalism really stood out.

They did an excellent job at a fair price. We definitely recommend at least letting them bid on your roofing project. After meeting them and seeing the attention to detail they provide, more than likely they will be your final choice.

Just had Rene and his crew replace our roof. First and formost, I can't say enough good things about these guys. I did alot of research before choosing them and was so happy I did. They were very competitively priced, the job they did was outstanding and attention to details was impeccable. They used the highest quality materials, they replaced all hip and ridge boards and any facia boards that needed it.

They color matched and painted facia boards, etched, primed and painted all flashing and roof vents. These guys do alot of the extra things at no extra cost. Rene and his team are the best. Detailed and thorough quote. The price was competitive and they give you a signed warranty upon completion. I had my entire roofs underlay redone and new vents added. Express Roofing was on time everyday, clean, and efficient. Rene- emailed me an update of progress daily with pictures and videos (drone) explaining the progress and stage of the repairs.

The videos were fantastic. We had five different contracts give us their opinions and prices. Express roofing was not the cheapest or the most expensive. My husband & had the pleasure of working with Rene & his team on some roof repair & freshening up the look to our fascia. We told them we were in the process of sprucing up our house in order to put it on the market & had some shingles that needed to be replaced. They were so quick to respond & reasonably priced we decided to ask about the fascia. Rene & Jeff went into great detail about the process & even provides us a demo video so we could visualized the quality.

Our house looks great! The shingles match the existing roof almost flawlessly, regardless of the weathering on the rest of the roof. And the fascia looks completely different, like brand new fascia. You (hopefully) don't have to replace roofs twice within 5 years, but we did. We replaced one on our old house (asphalt shingles), then sold and moved.within a year, the new house (clay tiles) needed one too. Luckily, we knew whom to call.

He works up the estimate and explains the process completely. Weather permitting, you start and finish within the projected dates. Jeff handled all of the scheduling and daily communication.

He answers thoroughly and promptly and fields any questions, regardless of how silly you thing they are. The crew shows up on time, cleans up completely each and every day, and does a quality job. We have absolutely no complaints; nothing but good here. While I hope we don't need another roof any time soon, I definitely would recommend Express Roofing! I'd use them again and again.
