I had a wonderful experience with HES Solar. specifically David Shemai. He was upfront from the beginning and always available whenever I had a question or concerns, even if they were easy. The crew that came and installed the whole system were quick, accurate, and tidy. Even the followup appointment a month after installation with David was helpful. he went over all the numbers and production we've generated so far. Very informative. From start to finish Gene Najor was ready to answer any questions I had. It was an easy decision for me to choose HES after speaking with two other companies. They offered the most cost effective and quality solar panels and installation. I had twelve panels and all equipment installed in 8 hours. The initial project manager I had was released from the company and I do believe that situation could have been handled better, with regard to following up with his clients. However, once I received my new project manager Scott Barber everything else was smooth sailing. Thank you all so much for helping me set up my new home.

Customer Service From start to finish, HES provided excellent customer service and product. Eugene, our solar consultant, explained the entire process of scoping, designing, permitting, installing, activating and operating the panels. HES fulfilled every step of the process on time and as promised. Communications by phone, text, email were prompt and fulfilling. HES educated us about the solar industry and every detail of our system. Andrew, our project manager, kept us apprised of the permitting stages and installation timeline.

The installation crew was on time, worked efficiently, and expressed pride in working for HES. Post-installation the HES app and monthly overview documentation provide meaningful data. Solar Panel Power Production From day 1, our panels have produced ample solar power for our household. They are a beautiful addition to our home's roofline as well.

The utility bill dropped to a fraction of our previous billing. So far, even on cloudy days the panels produce more than enough power for our household. Just finished getting solar installed with HES Solar, which has now gone live and producing energy, and everything is working as planned. I could not be more pleased! I have never posted a company review before so the fact that I'm doing that here tells you how happy I am and was with the entire process of finally pulling the trigger to get solar for our home.

Working with their Residential Solar Consultant, David Shemai, from the the beginning of the project (and when closing out after project completion) was a pleasure where he laid out everything in detail as to what to expect so the entire process was transparent along the entire project. And then when the operation/install portion of the project was handed over to Brandon Bojorguez, his communication and follow-up along the way was just as great.

Both answered any questions that I had in a timely manner and responded super quickly when a small adjustment was needed to the system after install. I very highly recommend HES Solar, and these two gentlemen, for your next home (solar) project.

Decided to add Solar to the house this year since air-conditioning getting too expensive to run. Found HES SOLAR by chance and I'm glad I did. Signed the contract on the 21st of december and today, 16th of february Im just waiting for SDG&E to give me ok to power up. Considering the holidays, covid, plans, permitting and inspection requirements this was fast!

The install only took one day and they did a great job. Their attention to detail is impressive. Save yourself a lot of time and worry. You won't find a better solar company than HES.

Excellent service from start to finish and beyond considering they continue to monitor my system for operating efficiency. Gene answered all my questions as my designated sales rep. The installation was exactly as expected and adhered to their stated timeline. Jaime, Edwin, Christian and Pablo worked to get my system installed and ready for service within two days.

After quite an awful experience I contacted the company and asked to speak to someone with the "power" to help me. I got a very quick response from Brad, a vice president of the company. He was very responsive and within 24 hours all of my issues disappeared. Mainly because there were no issues. After my original post my project manager finally responded and sent someone to commission my Sunpower box.

At this point she told me there was an issue I was unaware of, however, in reality there was no issue. That being said, I wish I could give 5 stars because the installers were professional and did a great job, my salesperson Gene did an excellent job of explaining everything to me and Brad got the whole mess straightened out so quickly. I just can't ignore the 6 weeks it took me to get there. I believe that my experience was the exception not the rule based on all the great reviews.

Having considered solar panels for the past three years, after studying the providers, I selected HES Solar of San Diego who provided an excellent experience from initial consultation to final install. Their level of service and professionalism was outstanding and handled all aspects of the project. Would highly recommend them for your solar panel project.

Was really happy with the entire process, from Gene Najor explaining the whole solar process to the installation crew who did a great job and were both polite and knowledgeable. One of the few times I've dealt with a company that did what they said. I would recommend HES to anybody looking to have a solar system installed

HES solar was fantastic. At the first meeting after I decided to go with their company, they kept with the timeline and finished a few days early. The sales rep, Eugene, was very knowledgeable about all of their products and the thing I liked the most was that he did not disparage other companies or products. My project manager, Mariana, kept me informed throughout the project and was available for any questions I had.

The install was quick over 2 days and they would have been done in one day if it weren't for the high heat we experienced that week. At the mid -point of my first bill after the install, I was negative in the kWh and am looking forward to seeing how much energy I produce over the next year and the amount of money I will ultimately save with solar. I will definitely recommend HES Solar to anyone who may ask about solar.

Our solar wasn't working properly and noticed a bill spike. Brad S was great and helped refer someone to reach out and schedule a maintenance check. Employees were nice and on time! They were able to tell me the issue and they spoke with SunPower right then and got things going. They took care of everything for me! Highly recommend!

The Process has been awful. After installation and inspection I waited patiently to hear about my permission to operate. After 3 weeks I emailed Mariana my "project manager" to find out when SDG&E would Give that to me. Oops! SDGE were waiting for HES to place a placard in the utility box. when I checked next day the placard was there. Another almost 3 weeks went by - nothing. Emailed again to find out the placard was in the wrong place.

Finally 6 weeks after installation I got permission to operate. But wait, there's more. I have tried unsuccessfully to hook up to Sunpower. They have been great. I forwarded their emails to to me to HES. No response, still no hookup with SunPower. There is supposed to be a green light on the SunPower box but it isn't there. I am very disappointed with HES. I was amazed to see all the 5 star reviews.

I am extremely happy with my experience with HES Solar. HES uses Sunpower products which is unquestionably number 1 in quality, cost, and performance. Eugene spent significant time with me, explaining how the new system would work and what to expect in energy cost savings. The installation team was incredible, quickly installing the new system with little disdisruption to our household. After 2 months, my electric bill has gone from $300 to basically zero per month. What more can i say. Totally worth it! Unquestionably, go with HES!

The entire HES team was really professional and easy to work with. They've made the project execution as seamless as possible given the hurdles on backlog issues with permitting with the City and SDG&E which is really not on their end. After that, the installation was quality, quick and sleek. The Sales and Project team worked hand in hand with the quick project turn around and handover. Thanks to all who have worked with my project especially to Eugene, Paul, David and David, Cassandra, and Rachel.

Mixed experience with HES. Finally got PTO after maybe a month of delays. First their installer made mistakes, then couldn't find replacement part at Home Depot, left a hole in my dad's garage ceiling, couldn't pass inspection with the county several times. Everytime I heard another delay I could cue the circus music. At least they gave my dad credits for all the hassle, the panels look slick and we can start lowering our carbon footprint. Can I recommend? Meh.

Just started the process of solar installation with HES, having just signed the contract yesterday. Our Sales Rep, David Shemai, was fantastic. He was very patient and personable, willing to answer any and all questions my wife and I had. Even after about an hour going through the information we asked for and the information he needed to provide us, David was still just as patient as at the beginning. David was the key factor in us choosing HES Solar and the SunPower system.

Overall HES through Sunpower did a fantastic job on my solar install. Their pricing was similar to competitors, but found cheaper roof work than others. The job was done smoothly with excellent help from Robert Laverty and Rachael Williams. The system is generating more energy than we expected and my large electric bill has gone to nothing. Robert even helped trim my neighbors hedge to help SDGE access the neighborhood electric grid. They will work hard for your business and value you as a customer. I strongly recommend them.

HES Solar saved the day! In the process of having my roof inspected as part of selling our home, it was discovered that the company that installed my Sun Power system did a poor job of replacing or fixing the tiles underneath the solar panels. To make maters worse the installation company was no longer in business. In order to ensure the warranty was valid I needed a Sun Power authorized installer to remove the panels so the roof tiles could be repaired and the panels replaced after the repairs were completed.

This is where Phillip and his HES technicians come into the picture. His team was on time and quickly met with the roofers for a plan of action. Everything went flawlessly. Both teams worked like a well oiled machine and the work was completed sooner than expected. The roof is fixed and I am back online generating electricity! Great value and especially service. We've had our panels for a few years and Michael is always proactive in calling if our monitoring goes offline and most recently when we had a covered warranty issue he fixed the issue immediately. Thanks HES!

We recently got a notice from SunPower that our internet connection somehow stopped working. They came promptly and fixed the issue which seemed rather complicated. I was so glad they didn't try and make me do it over the phone. Again, I highly endorse them.

Great Tesla Powerwall installation. Rachael, who is incredible, and the excellent HES Solar team installed our 3 Powerwalls and upgraded electrical panel 1.5 years ago. Installation was clean, professional and faster than anticipated in our off-grid-prone North San Diego County home. She continues to follow to ensure the CA rebates are paid and to check system performance as Tesla upgrades firmware. I would highly recommend HES, Rachael and her team for all solar and battery backup installation.

Michael was very knowledgeable about the solar system including how the pool equipment worked in conjunction with the solar system. He even pointed out some potential problems with the roofing tiles. He went above and beyond what I expected. Honest, conscientious and very efficient. A+ in my book!

Our Sunny Boy inverter went dark, so we called HES which had installed it. Michael came out, identified the problem (which was not the inverter), and fixed it. Great service and reasonable price.

I'm finally solar powered! I did a lot of research and am so glad I decided to go with HES Solar. From start to finish everyone I dealt with was extremely professional, informative and friendly. Cassandra walked me through each step of the process. HES Solar is quick to respond to questions and explained things in an easy to understand way. Workers that came to my home where all masked and patient with all of my questions. I now pay less for my solar loan than I did with my regular SDG&E monthly bill. Highly recommend HES for any of your solar needs.

HES Solar was an impressive outfit to work with. Our salesman was attentive, polite and informative. He took the time to explain every aspect of the installation, rebates and answered all of my silly questions about solar. Cassandra was our primary point of contact and she is amazing. Project updates, schedules, rebates and follow through. She nailed it!

I never once felt I was a burden or was just a commodity. I felt genuinely appreciated and valued as a customer. The installation crew was quick. 2 days to install a power wall and solar. Amazing! Each installer took the time to say hello and answer all of my impromptu questions. Not to mention they are all dog people who gave the fur kids attention. The process was as painless and transparent as can be. Do yourself a favor and use Ross and his team.

The idea Ross Williams prefers is that the Pre existing condition is discovered after the sale. This is his loophole for changing the price of the project and the scope of the work after inspecting the roof. This ignores the salesman has looked at what is obvious and clearly a tile roof. The configuration is determined at the company or by the manufacturer for the company and the existence of the tile on the roof cannot be over looked.

However the proposal ignores the tile as the condition of the roof is obvious to all; Except to the clause Mr. Williams wants to exercise. A pre-existing condition is: Any condition that's newly diagnosed during the look-back period. Your "look back period" would be the three day right to cancel under California's Home Solicitation Sales Act.

This is for the buyer but this is the time for the seller to disclose any potential defects in the agreed to contract. Rachael Williams (not related) explained that HES does not contact the buyer during this period to not induce any pressure on the buyer. The buyer of course is left wondering what happened and why no one is calling to tell them when the work will start.

After the three days the buyer is compelled although you claim that you will just let them out of the contract after they have finally committed to work with you, unless they pay several thousand dollars for roof work to make the work site easier for you. The tile roof is not newly discovered after the contract was signed. It is clear that this is the site and the basis for the construction.

There is no newly discovered condition. The CSLB says so too. They have requested a complaint be filed so they can get involved. SunPower, the solar panel manufacturer, is also interested in this behavior. Given that the tile roof is the job site, and one of the most important aspects of the installation, and the salesman and company have seen the tile roof, and propose the work on that basis, yet prefer to claim that a newly discovered condition negates the contract if it suits them.

This is ludicrous. Photo of the roof is the 47th photo above and shows three levels of the tile roof. There can be no mistake; unless.?!? And additionally, you are contractually obligated to me to answer my calls for service and you are not doing that. My calls and texts go unreturned and there are problems I need answers to.

HES solar did a great job for us. I am a do-it-yourselfer on many things but this is not one of them. I had no idea how much was involved. We have a 1930's house and nothing is easy. From start to finish Ross and his team really came through. Rachel did a great job with the project management, Cassandra made it easy for us to get our rebates, Paul and Carlos rocked the electrical and the solar panel crew had a complicated install on a steep pitched roof and they did it with a smile and most importantly with the proper safety equipment.

We are now selling power back to the grid and no more electrical bills, wohoooooo! Also with the 30% tax credit our payback is less than 5 years. There are many solar companies out there, but if you want a company that answers your calls, communicates effectively and does good work, then these are guys. We definitely ran into some challenges as expected and they just pushed right through them. Awesome job HES solar team.

I am a project manager for Home Energy Systems and have been working there for over 6 1/2 years. We are the oldest solar company in San Diego with over 15 years running. We are a mid size company, locally owned and operated.

I had 12 solar panels installed recently by Home Energy. I find them to be extremely knowledgeable and very honest. Installation was done professional and quickly. I live in a single story home with tile roofs in a tract community.

We first consulted HES three years ago, and they assessed our solar needs and options at that time. When we finally decided to install solar this year, we contacted HES again. They re-ran the numbers and picked the equipment that gave us the best power for our investment, resulting in considerable savings over the previous technology options.

Home Energy Systems just installed our solar system today and although we are not on the grid yet (waiting for the final inspection) I can tell you if you are going to go solar than the only company I would use is Home Energy Systems.
