I would not recommend this company to anyone. The sales staff did not follow up in a timely fashion. The biggest problem we needed to get a refund and that was a month ago, still haven't received it and now I am have to go to my bank and get them to dispute the charges. All in looks like it will take 4 months to get this resolved. Wish Sims-Lohman would just do the right thing. After talking to them they cant figure it out and said there was nothing else they could or will do. I would do zero starts but that is not an option.

My husband and I wanted quartz counter tops installed in our kitchen. I visited the showroom with a friend and chose the quartz I liked. I emailed the company on March 13th with a copy of my kitchen floor plan and counter top measurements, seeking a quote, fully intending to hire them as soon as they were available. I called them 2 days later when I didn't receive a reply, and left a voicemail.
It took 3 days for a reply, and I was assured a quote would be ready by the end of the week. It is now March 30th, and I've not heard a word. Guess they don't need the business?

We had granite countertops installed, through Lowes. They contracted through this company. There is abysmal communications from the store, to the project manager, to the site manager. We were told things were cleared from one end just to receive an email at 8pm from someone else stating, "products needed up to be bought next day." We were even threatened to have our install cancelled out and the need for re purchase if we didn't buy our counter top bracers by a certain time.
After the bracers were bought, they were never even installed. The granite has chips on the surface. The existing sink that we were told we could re-use was deemed unusable. They never tried anything other than hammering around the glue. The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is ever present with this company.

Paid for, and was measured for countertops through Cabinets to Go, who uses Sims Lohman for countertops. They came on December 16th and measured. Was told 3 to 4 weeks. Starting at the end of January, starting calling Sims Lohman multiple times a week for a month, with no return calls. Finally Cabinets to Go reached out and found out on February 7th that the countertops I ordered were back ordered, and was told I needed to pick a new countertop or wait indefinitely. Went up the next day and ordered new countertop, and paid an additional fee, as this was a more expensive countertop.
It is now March 8th. Trying to reach someone to see the status of my order for the past week. No call back. I called Cabinets to Go, and they are trying to contact them. I am now trying to find out if the countertops have been cut and are actually coming. If not, I will go with another company in town who has guaranteed installation in one week. It will be more money, but at this point I am willing to pay anything to get my kitchen done. My remodel was supposed to be done by Christmas, and now I am wondering if I will have for Easter. So disappointed. :

Where to begin. Do NOT purchase from Sims-Lohman. Truly appalling customer service. I had high hopes of working with Sims-Lohman on our kitchen remodel. We wanted to match existing marble in our kitchen and we were excited when we found a product that worked at S-L. The salesperson who helped us through the project and install was great until she stopped returning my calls and emails.
After installation was complete and we paid in full, we tried to work with S-L to get the following issues resolved: 1. Team did not have correct drill bit to drill sink and soap holes in marble on day of install. The team did not show up on the day they were scheduled to return to drill the holes. 2. There was "12" visibly written on marble. A team was sent to "remove" this.
It was not able to be fully removed and has created a visible divot and has not been re-polished. 3. The electric outlet cut-out was in the wrong place on the back splash. This required significant effort by our contractors to relocate the electric box in a brick wall. The measurements S-L took didn't properly account for the height of the countertop. 4.
The wrong ends of the marble shelves were polished leaving the visible ends unfinished. Both ends were supposed to be polished to prevent this issue. I have confirmed this was in the production notes. Now I am told this cannot be done on site and the only way to fix this is to UNINSTALL THE PRODUCT. 5. The marble shelves have the rubber mesh on the underside and it is visible.
The shelves should have been polished on both sides per the install plan. AGAIN, I am told this cannot be done on site and the only way to do this is to UNINSTALL THE PRODUCT. THIS IS NOT AN POSSIBLE, IT WOULD REQUIRE DESTROYING MY KITCHEN. We are still trying to contact S-L and Our salesperson and her manager to fix these issues and they are IGNORING MY CALLS, MESSAGES, AND EMAILS.

Wow! We have been searching for a place like this. A beautiful showroom and talented staff that listens and helps guide you through all of the overwhelming decisions that come with a remodel. They obviously take pride in their work and have quality cabinetry and countertops. Finally feeling excited and hopeful about the remodel!update: went back again to finalize our plans! We recently moved into a 3.5 year old house that had Simms-Lohman cabinets. One of the kitchen cabinet doors had a rather large scratch that needed some touch paint to repair. I sent an email with a picture of the cabinets to Simms-Lohman in Cincinnati who supplied the cabinets to the builder. Within a few hours Monica G. had ordered and sent a touch-up kit to me at no charge. I have never experienced such exceptional customer service before. Thanks again Monica.

We couldn't be happier. Great experience working with Kim. She is very knowledgeable and was a great help guiding us through the whole process of picking cabinets and counter tops. Everything came in on time or a bit ahead of schedule. One cabinet had minor damage during shipment but Kim got right on it and resolved the issue quickly. Installed the cabinets DIY and the Sims team that installed the counter tops were very professional and counter top install went without a hitch! Highly recommend!

I can not say enough great things about Chris and Craig. They did an unbelievable job. Clean, careful and professional. In addition the office lady Jeanne is remarkable in her professionalism. As in Operations Manager in my own career I work with many vendors and contractors. I would highly recommend this company. Had a great experience using Sims Lohman for my basement remodel. Kim McCourt was the designer I worked with for my wet bar cabinets and countertops. Made an appointment with her and once we met she was on it! Gave me great ideas and had some really good suggestions to make my wet bar look amazing! Was surprised how quickly I got my cabinets also. We remodeled our entire first floor and purchased all of the cabinetry and countertops from Sims-Lohman. Cathie Emery helped us every step of the way and ensured that everything was beautifully designed as well as functional. She was also able to stay within certain budgetary constraints when needed. In addition, she was always VERY professional and extremely responsive, returning phone calls and text messages immediately. We look forward to working with Cathie the next time we remodel. We had a great experience with Sims-Lohman! From Kim in Sales to the installers & Bob, everyone was friendly, professional and willing to help. We had a small issue with a piece being left out behind our slide-in range and Kim & Bob responded via email immediately and had someone back out in 2 days to fix! The first team of installers noticed an potential issue they brought to my attention and I was able to communicate with my contractor to ensure it wouldn't be a big issue.

We used Sims-Lohman for our kitchen remodel and were extremely happy with Dave Thaler. We wanted to bring more light in to the room. He came back with a plan and he brought ideas to the table we never even considered. What I really like is that he challenged us on some of our ideas and provided sound advice to help guide us. He didn't just draw up a plan and take our order.
The process (and the selection) when it comes to picking out cabinets can be overwhelming. Dave's experience in working through all of that was much appreciated. It seemed like his recommendations were centered around what was best for us. This was a big project for us and they really made it easy. I had a great experience at Sims. It was a pleasure working with Kim McCourt. She was super knowledgeable of all things counter tops. Even after changing my mind 3-4 times she was very patient with me and worked me thru my decision. They have a huge selection of granite and quarts. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for any future counter top needs.

Have not even received the countertop yet. I have called them about 6 times a day, me and my fiance have both left messages most of which have been during listed business hours and multiple hours before they "close". No one has answered a live call i tried all extensions(1-5) just to try and schedule a time. We also live 2 hours away so this is already inconvenient for us but its who lowes goes through. I wish i could give a lesser star! If this countertop isnt perfect after this we WILL get a refund!

Terrible customer service so far. I am happy to update if it improves. We are trying to get countertops installed through Lowes in Dayton. This is who they use for installation. Zach the rep from Sims-Lohman does not return calls. He calls once and if you do not answer then goodluck getting ahold of him. All return calls go to his voicemail.

We recently completed a big remodel; 3 kids' baths, a half bath, and a nice sized master bath. Werthan Granite and Tile handled our countertops - six, total, plus shower bench seats and shelves, etc., in four showers. They were terrific to work with and everything looks great. I highly recommend this place!

Not only did I have a horrible experience with them they refused to return any emails or phone calls. During the installation - they moved my dishwasher and now it doesn't sit flush with cabinets. They left caulk everywhere- and the edges of the counter top was not buffed- it had a white color to the black granite counter tops. I purchased the granite counters from Home Depot and this company is the horrible 3rd party that Home Depot used.
Be warned using this company! Update- after contacting Home Depot corporate office in Atlanta - I received a call from Sims Lohman. At this point they now seem to be wanting to fix the issues. It is a step in the right direction but it is sad that I had to escalate to get them to return phone calls.

They won't be willing to correct their mistakes, expect a hassle. Double check the math on the invoice. Make sure you are not charged for the same thing on more than one line of the invoice. You have to stay on top of the rep, make sure you aren't being charged for an upgrade you didn't ask for, make sure they give you any credits you are entitled to. It's all about the upsell, always ask if there are other more affordable options.

I'm not even sure where to start here. Firstly, it took us multiple weeks of calling and walking into their "appointment only" showroom just to get someone to talk to us. We finally set an appointment to talk about what we're needing done in our kitchen, it takes almost two weeks just to get our quote back after calling multiple times and having to threaten taking our business to Cincinnati MULTIPLE times (which I'm still wishing we followed through on). THEN, it was 6 more weeks until install and delivery, which they didn't tell us were actually different dates, when we reached out to our consultant, his response was "I forgot.hope that's not a problem".
The ONLY reason it wasn't a problem is because I just happened to be home sick that day, otherwise we would have completely missed the delivery date we were never made aware of. The delivery guys were very nice and apologetic, so was the install team. They were great and apologized on behalf of SL even though they don't work for SL. The icing on the cake was that our consultant didn't add any hardware to our order.
He didn't even ask about it or bring it up. He knew what hardware we already had. When the installers came today they asked if we had ordered hardware through SL, my response was that I wasn't made aware that was something we needed to do. Our consultant let us leave without ordering any hardware. Why would you not include hardware?! Mind you, we were only adding one set of cabinets and one set of drawers, so this should have been quick and easy.
If there was ANY other location option that could match our existing cabinets I would have worked with them over SL in a blink of an eye. This was a never ending nightmare. We now have cabinets that don't match exact color and have no hardware. At no point during my interactions with SL did I feel myself, my money, or my time was respected. I felt like an inconvenience and an afterthought.
I don't care how much money you're spending, that feeling should never occur. If we need anything else for our kitchen, including the countertops that we plan on replacing, we will be avoiding SL like the plague. You couldn't pay me to work with them again.

Complete and total joke of a company. Go ANYWHERE else but to Sims Lohman! Here's the deal. We purchased a brand new built home (spec) in December 2012. After living in it for a year, we decided that we wanted another cabinet over a desk in the kitchen. One that would match the rest of the kitchen cabinets. We contacted the builder in Jan 2014 to find out where we could find a matching cabinet.
They gave us the name and number of who they work with at Sims Lohman, and advised that Sims would have all of the information in their files and would be able to sell us the cabinet, no problem. After leaving messages and getting NO response from that contact at Sims Lohman for 2 years.(yes, finding a new cabinet wasn't a huge daily or weekly priority, probably called 6 times over the 2 year period).we decided to take time out of our work schedules to go visit their showroom (Sims is only open 9 to 5 Mon - Fri), to see if we could get this cabinet.
When arrived to the Sims location and asked to speak with someone about our need, the receptionist told us that they don't take walk-ins, that they are appointment only. I told her that I had been trying to contact a specific sales rep for 2 years, but had no response. The receptionist responded n a very rude tone said she would try and have someone come out to talk to us.
After letting us sit around for 30 minutes a gentleman came out to the show room and listened to our needs. He took our specs for the cabinet along with multiple pictures of existing cabinets, and advised he we work on looking up the information and get back to us with a quote in a couple of days. After not hearing back for a week (we are motivated now), we followed up to get a response and determine if any movement had been made in getting our cabinet.
That resulted in us needing to bringing a door off of the existing cabinet back to the showroom (yes, more time out of daily work schedule), to make a match. During that visit with the door, the rep found the match! At last success. Two year odyssey is over! Not so fast. Received a quote of $1400 for one 46" x 48" cabinet with crown molding. You have GOT to be kidding me.
The crown molding alone was $450 ( that is one 8 foot piece of wood). Seriously. In short. I'm sure there are a few nice people who work there, but Sims Lohman as a company.complete joke if they make these guys send out these kind of quotes.

We used Sims Lohman 8 years ago for granite kitchen countertops. Due to faulty fabrication upon installation by Sims Lohman of the finished granite slab cracks developed last year (2015). We had someone outside of Sims Lohman attempt to fix the cracks but the fix did not correct the problem. We did contact Sims Lohman in 2015 about the cracks originally & was told they do not fix the cracked granite & they had no way to check their records if we were a prior customer, which was not true.
We contacted Sims Lohman in 2016, about 6 months after the initial call. Sims Lohman requested pictures be sent of the cracks in the granite countertop. At no time did Sims Lohman send anyone out to see the cracked granite top. We proceeded to purchase & had new granite countertops installed by another company. We continued to call Sims Lohman for reimbursement.
After numerous calls & emails to Sims Lohman in Columbus, Ohio we contacted the Director of Operations for Sims Lohman at the Cincinnati headquarters. They did agree to compensate us, however the final number for the cracked countertop was ridiculous. I just wanted to let you know that every time I have had the pleasure of working with Dot and your installers, it has been a great experience. The thing I love is that when Dot says she will call or have a quote, she does it. Even if it is after hours or on the weekends and I knew that what I am normally doing is small potatoes compared to many of your jobs.

I purchased countertop from Home Depot after that everything gets ugly. Sims Lohmann has poor customer service needing you to make several phone calls always having to speak with another employee at another number always having to leave messages in voicemail. I have several experiences with countertops my first and last with SIM Lohmann. The template employee appeared to be very competent and knowledgeable, I would give him a five star.

Horrible customer service. The corner of the counter (solid surface) chipped within 48 hours of installation and as of today, over one month later it has yet to be repaired. They twice scheduled service calls without confirming them with me, are horrible at answering/returning phone calls, have inconvenient service call windows and the product is less than stellar. Don't buy through Lowes or Home Depot if these people are doing the counters. The guy that came out to do the install was actually very pleasant that's about the only positive though.

If there was a zero star I would choose that. We recently built a house through Westport Homes. In our master bathroom we have a double vanity sink that we would like to make the inactive drawers into actual working drawers. After speaking with our building supervisor he said we have to order drawer glides and drawer boxes through this company. I have called this place many time and only spoke to someone once.
They have a prompt for immediate assistance but just directs you to a voicemail after a few rings. Leave a message and you'll be lucky to get a call back. If I could order these things somewhere else I would. Terrible

Most professional and precise group of individuals I've ever had the chance of working with. Here we aren't just a bunch if people working together, we're family. Ive had the opportunity to always have contact with owner Jeremy Werthan and he still holds his ground as to being a great person, boss, leader and friend.

Based off quality and customer service this company will be out of business soon. We are building a house. They showed us several types of granite. We picked a beautiful piece with cream colors and grays at the showroom. We received a piece with brownish splotches in several spots that looked like stains. When we called asking for a piece that looked like what they showed us, Greg, one of their salesman left a message on my voicemail saying that they absolutely would not replace it. They do not stand by their product and they are completely unwilling to replace a product that does not match what we were sold. DO NOT do business with them.

Choose someone else! Although they have a nice showroom and are very friendly and polite to begin with, nothing went as it should have. I chose a remodeling company to do my kitchen in April 2013 and this is the cabinet company that they work with. I went to the showroom to look at cabinet samples and chose a finish and style that I liked. When my cabinets arrived at my house, they did not look like the finish that I chose in the showroom (name was the same, but finish color didn't look like the sample).
I decided to keep them after working out a deal for some "free" accessories. The pantry that arrived was too deep (24" instead of 15" as I had ordered). After many attempts to reach the representative at Sims-Lohman, I was informed that the panty did not come in 15" depth and that mine would have to be cut down because they were only available in 24" or 12" depth (no one had informed me of this prior).
I told them I didn't want a panty that had been cut down and to order the 12" pantry. At the same time I also ordered the hardware for my cabinets and was told it would take 2-3 DAYS to come in. After EIGHT WEEKS of not hearing from anyone, I contacted my remodeling company who informed me the hardware was on back-order and the pantry should arrive in a few days.
They brought the pantry out (still no hardware) with the wrong size shelves, which have to be ordered, so I wait another two weeks. After they installed the shelves (and finally the hardware), I realize the pantry is NOT A NEW ONE and it was the original one that had been cut down! I am now awaiting another re-order of a 12" pantry, which will take another 8 weeks. UNBELIEVABLE! I can't believe this company can stay in business.

I don't believe I would ever use this company again or would I ever recommend them to anyone else. We used them for 2 bathroom re-modeling jobs and after an initial cordial meeting in their showroom, things went downhill. From damaged cabinets to incorrect cabinets being ordered and delivered, I can't believe they made any money on our order.
After being told that the replacement shelving would be re-ordered and delivered, and not receiving it, I was told that the shelf was in their showoom. For customer satisfaction, I would think that after being told this last piece would be delivered, it would BE delivered. Buyer beware!
