We signed an agreement to construct our new home with RJM Custom Homes on 2/2/2017. We took possession October 2019. Their sales person Maura was amazing. But their contract that we signed does not protect the homeowner it's all about protecting the builder. Unfortunately, their workmanship in my opinion was not industry standard. We complained constantly regarding the tile flooring that was uneven, chipped and base boards with many gaps.
They used a lot of caulking to fill in the gaps. Their answer was always its industry standard and always informed us that they no longer use that sub-contractor. We finally hired a certified flooring contract and the floor failed inspection. National Institute of Certified Floor Covering Inspectors (NICFI). I highly recommend anyone doing a tile floor to hire an inspector to check the floor out. It's well worth the money and not that expensive.
They first lowballed us on the dollar amount that they wanted us to except for a failed floor. I had multiple quotes on what it would cost to fix this flooring correctly for the entire home. It wasn't going to be an easy or small task. We could not agree on a contract on how they would fix the problem. I wanted it detailed using the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines Consumer Reference Fifth Edition NHAB. Kimberly Brunner president of RJM Custom Homes told me we were not going to agree on this, how would $$,$$$.$$ be to fix the flooring.
I agreed, and then I the settlement letter arrived. It had some things that I would never agree to, nor would any attorney advise their clients to sign. So, our only option was to go to arbitration per their contract. Working with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, which was paid by RJM Custom Homes and it was suppose to be an advantage to us. I found out working with 2-10 Warranty that they did nothing for us.
We later found out from an attorney that 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is not something favorable for the consumer. We also had an issue with our concrete. They driveway had multiple indentions and the front porch was not protected while the home was stucco. Again, this was industry standard per RJM. Buying or building your home is one of the expensive things you will do in your lifetime.
Do your homework, have an attorney read the contract and if putting in a tile flooring get a NICFI to inspect your floors. You have 6 years in Florida to go after a contractor for workmanship issues. Our contract also read that we were getting sod. Not so, we got plugs.

We just had our new home built by RJM Custom Homes Inc. It was a big job and we had a lot of questions before signing on with RJM. From our first telephone call, we visited the showroom and was accompanied by their sales manager, she gently explained everything to us for the final charge for our new home. They came with a crew and worked to perfection.
My wife and I always had a question about the work and design selections, they were more than happy to answer any questions. They provided a list of outlines for us to follow as they completed each phase of the job. Our new home looks wonderful and my neighbors are all questioning us on who we used and how happy we were with them. We get compliments every day and we noticed homeowners on the block are fixing up their homes as well. WELL, this should put your mind at ease if you decide to use RJM Custom Homes Inc.
I can tell you there will be no problems and if one should pop up they will be right there to get is straight. They are truly professionals and are right there to assist with any questions you would want answered for your new home.

The staff of this builder are very rude they never answer their phones and when you leave a messages they telling you to go somewhere else that they don't want to do bussiness with you. No professional.at all if you ask me. Do yourself a favor save your money and go with another builder. To respond to the owner a day ago. My realtor Brenda Quinones. from Keller Williams realty got an email from your staff saying that no house will be build for me o do buissness with me.and that message was coming from you.the president of RJM HOMES. VERY SHAME AND DISCUT I WAS to just listen that just because your staff don't have any skills and be rude.
And further than that been liars as I just can see. Mr. Owner of RJM HOMES just for your information I'm a wife of a MASTER SARGEANT OF UNITED STATES.AIR FORCES. That wanted (past tense) to build with your company a house in Port St. Lucie for over 380.000 $.

I wanted to express our appreciation for the excellent services that we received from the RJM Custom Homes in the construction of our home in Loxahatchee. The project was extremely successful and we could not have been more pleased with our finished project. RJM was very accommodating and sensitive to our needs.

RJM built my dream house and I couldn't have asked for a better experience and team of people. They are all very hard working, precise and dedicated to customer satisfaction. Their houses are beautiful, high quality for the best price on the market I could find, and the best part is that I could customize it exactly how I wanted it. Most of all, they truly care and are honest about everything upfront & throughout the process. Highly recommended!
