In 1969, there was no South Hill Mall, Meridian was a two lane road. In fact, there wasn't even a Tacoma Mall. Sears and Woolworths were in downtown Tacoma. People in Lakewood shopped at Montgomery Wards in the "Villa Plaza". People watched movies at the Rialto in downtown Tacoma, and more people rode the train than flew on airplanes.
Muscle Cars were rolling off the assembly lines. It was during this year that young, bright, hardworking, Fred O. Walden contracted his first fence job. He quickly realized a business opportunity and took off with it. With help from local friends he gained some valuable employees and built a business on "Reputation".

These people are wonderful. Small project took several trips. Each time staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Making suggestions that saved me time and money. Prices were great and in my case beat out the big box stores. Everything in stock for me making this a one stop for fencing.plus they carried the larger sizes that home Depot and Lowes did not have. 5 stars.

There is a large demand for fences in my area currently and yet Fence Specialist managed to have the best price and a reasonable install time in spite of the demand. They came in lower on their bid than their competitors at Secoma and Quality Fence and were far more attentive during the bid process. Even for the lower cost the build is exceptional quality and workmanship and I am extremely satisfied with the result. Thank you all at Fence Specialist for your outstanding service and for not price gouging when demand is high.

Fence Specialists came right out and gave me a detailed estimate. They were booked solid so they scheduled the fence install as soon as they could. They worked through bad weather to tear down, set and build the new fence. The fence and gates looks great and I'm sure it will hold up for years to come - which is not the case of the one we had that was ready to blow down in the next wind storm. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a new fence of any kind. Staff was very responsive to questions before, during and after the build.

I'd give them one star because they were about $1000 cheaper than another quote I received. But you get what you pay for. I'm not completely disappointed, but this is the worst 6ft cedar estate fence I've seen, and go figure it's from a 'professional company.' Fence Specialists came out and built my fence just a couple months ago in August 2018. Deduct one star for the poor workmanship.
See Pictures. Deduct one star for poor communication between the contractor and builder. Gary, the contractor, came out to assess the property and offer a quote. Because we have a fence on the north side of the house and the south side of the house (all matching 6ft cedar fence), I asked for a fence to connect the two. I needed a fence in the front with a gate, and a fence in the back with a gate.
For some reason the fence they built in the back was not connected to the south fence; there is about a four inch gap. I called in, and Jeff (the builder) came out and said if he knew we wanted it connected, he would have ran the 2x2s all the way over the south fence and connected it. Deduct one star for offending the home owner. I asked Jeff if there was any way to fix the 4 inch gap.
He said it's just cosmetic, and doesn't need to be fixed. But I explained that a small dog could fit between the gap. Jeff explained it was a really easy fix: Just go to Home Depot, get a board, cut it to fit, and pop it in the gap. I tried to explain that I don't have any tools, but he immediately picked up on my hesitancy, and said, "You got a roommate, that guy?
You have a boyfriend?" I said yes. Jeff said, "Get those two guys out here, make them cut a board and pop it in the gap." It was at that point, I started to wonder who hired who? It had also been a while since a guy talked down to me for being a woman (I work in health care, and think to myself, this is where prostate exams offer balance). If I'm paying money for a fence, I don't think I should have to go to Home Depot to finish their work.
But as I said earlier, you get what you pay for. I spoke with Greg about the gap, and I felt like I was offering up more ideas than he was, and somehow we ended up on brackets being put up to help stabilize the very long south fence. After I save up more money, I'm going to take the brackets down, and fix that too. Deduct one star for poor communication regarding scheduling.
After signing all the paper work, and giving them a down payment, I inquired about scheduling a date. They have scheduling meetings every Wednesday I think, and it was explained to me that someone would get in touch with me. A couple weeks went by, and I left a message asking if I'd been scheduled in yet. I guess they issue you a date, and you don't really get a say as far what day would work best for you.
I didn't get a chance to reschedule or request a day off work, because no one emailed me back. I was at work when my roommate text me saying there are strange people in the yard digging holes. So I assumed it was the fence people. I saw the good reviews online, and it looks like they have at least one builder who knows what he's doing. Sadly, I did not get that guy.
If you're poor and don't mind having to fix 'professionals' work afterwards, then I would recommend these guys. I would strongly advise being present when they build the fence, because it's hard to get a hold of them afterward, and getting them to fix mistakes is damn near impossible.

Easy to work with, Great Results! We had the pleasure of working with them to add a beautiful gate and black chain link fence to our property. The wait is well worth it as it is stunning and they did a magnificent job. The crew was fabulous to work with and arrived when they said they would and kept us informed along the way. The crew & Stephanie were even flexible and did us an additional set of work with no notice at all - just a great experience. I highly recommend them to anyone and if you treat them right, they'll treat you right!

Dear Herman, Since retiring and moving into our Dream Home my wife Lillian and I have had the opportunity or inopportunity to have numerous projects done by various companies, contractors and services. All too often broken promises, poor workmanship and quality and every excuse not to do the job right has become the normal.

Hi Greg I have attached a signed copy of the contract. We would like the sliding gate. I will call the office to make the down payment. Thank you! P.S. We appreciate the professionalism of your company. We contacted 6 fence companies and you are the only one to make an appointment to come out and look at our fence.

Dear Mr. Hardtke: We recently had a fence built by your company. I was so impressed by one of your workers that I wanted to let you know. That young man was Matt Swenson. My husband and I are elderly and retired. He is from the Tacoma Fire Department. We take great care in our home and the yard. Matt was so friendly and caring in the construction of this fence.
