We are quite happy with our Flynn Built home. The quality of the primary construction is excellent, but the finish work could have been tighter. Communication throughout the build process could have been much better and would have prevented some errors we had to have corrected during the build and some we will now have to correct on our own. Communication post closing certainly has not improved.
We have lived here six weeks now and we have had no indication when the items on our yellow sheet will be addressed or how to have them addressed. Early on, the design choice process seemed unnecessarily rushed and there were some elements, like how the lot was cleared, that were not negotiable, which seemed unnecessarily restrictive. i am extremely disappointed with the driveway pour.
It was not done properly and is completely hollow underneath on one side. I can stick my whole arm under it, but got an "oh well" attitude and "I'll see what can be done". Nothing has been "done" or even discussed. My wife pointed out a cracked / crushed place on the master tub to me we did not catch during the walk through. Seems someone dropped a heavy tool on it.
Guess since we missed it, we eat it? I have had to reinstall several door handles that fell off in my hand and adjust three doors so they would latch. Numerous items pointed out and marked w tape during walkthrough were ignored and tape simply removed (e.g., stickers on windows, lopsided towel bars, improperly and unmounted toilet paper holders, cracked grout in master shower, missing caulk or trim around fireplace, broken front door catch). Nonetheless, from all I have heard and from our personal experience, Flynn Built is a solid choice for new construction in this area.
I have heard about some nightmare experiences with other builders. Maybe Flynn will right the (significant) wrongs, like the driveway and tub - I mean how could I damage a tub I haven't used?) or maybe I'm a dreamer and have some work and additional expense ahead of me.

I would go with any other home builder for my second home than them. The team was not professional and delayed almost ever task that they said they would do on time. They said they have one year warranty, but are not responsive at all when you file a claim. It took two month to get any warranty claim accomplished. I had to threaten them with lawyer action to get it done. I would highly advise to go with someone else if you want to save yourself a headache.

We closed on our FlynnBuilt home in December 2020, and after a year, I still get excited when I refer to it as our forever home. Our adventure with FlynnBuilt started seven months prior when we were given the opportunity to select the color of the bricks, cabinets, floors, tiles, carpet, and even suggest a few customary ideas such as electrical hook ups for outside TV and a cement pad for our boat.
For the next seven months we were provided virtual updates through an app that presented pictures when each phase was complete. The process was quite clever as I never question where we were in the building process and if we were still on time. It's also worthy to mention how impressed I am with the lines of communications between FlynnBuilt and myself.
You're always an email away from a warranty claim, or a general question, and can you count on an answer within 24 hours. Lastly, I am thoroughly impressed with FlynnBuilt's commitment of constant improvement. They do not accept mediocrity and always striving to improve their processes or quality of labor. It's been 14 months since closing, all of our warranty items were handled in sufficient time and quality, and there are no regrets by doing this the FlynnBuilt way.

We used Flynn to build a house in Milton while we were still stationed in Virginia. Overall, we are very happy with the process and the home. Pros: The house is GORGEOUS. We did the Designer series, which includes a ton of features that would be custom on other homes. A few examples: huge windows, tons of outlets, prewire for surround sound, lots of smart home features, granite in the kitchen, garden tub and rainfall shower head, etc.
Any additional upgrades were, for the most part, reasonably priced. There were a few that felt a little overpriced but we just chose not to have those done. Overall, very good quality. The team takes your questions seriously, and they do seem to care about your wants. For example: one of the things I wanted to try and incorporate into our Sanibel plan was a double oven. However, it just wasn't in our budget to completely change the floor plan.
Down the line, due to COVID shortages, the standard oven wasn't available- our sales rep Scott remembered we had wanted an oven, and when he picked out a replacement he chose a double oven for us (the kind that's two ovens in one range piece). I really appreciated that, both from our rep and the company. They didn't charge us for the change either, since it was an upgrade they had to make due to COVID shortages.
Our home is also on a 20 acre lot, and they were very careful to be respectful of the rest of our property and our neighbors. CONS: The biggest issue we faced was the fact we were far away. The company has an online portal they update once a week, but it's far from thorough. They posted 2-4 pics a week of the same sections in the house. There were several issues that arose during construction that I think would've been avoided if I'd been present. Examples: a few of the cabinet doors were a different color than the rest of the cabinets.
A window design was ordered wrong. Accent tile was installed upside down. The laundry room cabinet was never ordered- just forgotten. Flynn DID fix/or is fixing all of these issues, so overall, I'm not too upset. But they were all things that were caught either at the last minute or only bc I called and asked specifically for photos of an area they hadn't updated me on.
If I'd been closer, I could've discovered these issues much sooner. That's the only other real concern I had: we're a military family, and only had ONE leave block to come and close on the home. We were very clear that we were perfectly fine waiting to close until they were sure they were done, but we HAD to close on schedule. We found out, halfway through the drive from Virginia that they hadn't finished a few pieces that the VA required for our closing.
If we'd been closer, a day delay wouldn't have been such an issue, but we had our toddler, dog, and trailer halfway down I-95 when we found this out. It put us in a bad spot. Overall, I really do recommend Flynn. They were honest, they built a beautiful house, and the builders were very respectful. But I would recommend that, if you're not close, you make sure you have a lot of flexibility in your time and travel plans, and you stay on top of the company for photos of every room. I would use them again, but I hope to live in this house forever!

Two years ago I wrote a review about how Flynn didn't fix a drainage issue I was having and still having. They have built more houses in the neighborhood now and several have/had drainage issues. They had a professional crew come out and fix those houses drainage issues. When I spoke to them about having a professional crew fix my drainage problem, they just sent out two regular employees that didn't have a clue on what to do.
This was funny but not because they didn't take my issue seriously. One of them even said that, "He looked it up on YouTube." Really! It didn't even work because they didn't grade the pipe or had a sleeve around it to keep mud/dirt from entering the pipe. The question is, Why didn't they send a professional crew out for me? Well possibly because none of those houses that they had fixed by a professional crew are not owed by a minority person!
Buyer beware. I had to dig a trench for a french drain to fix the problem the right way and now water doesn't stand in the flower bed or the front of the house. Not something you should have to do when purchase a new house. The backyard wasn't graded right either. Step off the patio and it was a steep slope where you couldn't even put a grill. Tried to get them to do something with that and nothing. They just didn't care. I had 4 truck loads of dirt brought and I graded it out myself and then laid sod. It now looks like a back yard. No thanks to Flynn.

We bought our home while it was already under construction. That process was fine. Upon the day we moved in there were some items still outstanding. Our screens and garage door were "on backorder" we've received the screens but still have not received the proper garage door that's in our contract. We moved in 6 months ago. Still not so much as an ETA for it.
Absolutely ridiculous. After moving in we noticed that when we get ANY kind of decent rain event, the water just pools up several inches deep in our front yard. Guess what's right underneath 4 or 5 inches of water? Our septic drain field. NICE! Emailed warranty department about the issue and was told "let's wait until it becomes an issue". Lol. Why would we wait when you could just fix the grade or install some drainage?
I'd like to not have sewage back up into the house at any point if I can help it. I have literally emailed every two weeks for months and either get no response or something like "oh I'm trying to get some answers". Another issue I have is sloppy workmanship. I didn't notice during walkthrough but our kitchen island is crooked by half an inch. That is to say that it is NOT parallel with the other counter tops. One corner is half an inch closer than the other. What am I supposed to do now? Just have my kitchen torn apart? Flynn built you need to make this right.

I can't say it enough, how impressed and happy We are with Flynn Built. The craftsmanship, materials and the attention to detail are all amazing. Blaine and Ben are very patient and straight forward. They accommodated my wife and I with precision and compassion. Dealing with quicken loans was different for them and they handled it very well.

Our family of six moved to Navarre from England in January, 2015. My husband was able come earlier to find and purchase a home for us. After looking at over 40 houses in the area, he walked into our Flynn Built home and knew it was the one. The quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and extra touches truly made this home stand out from all the others he looked at.

What a pleasure it was dealing with Flynn Built. My wife and I recently built a home with Flynn Built and we are highly impressed and very satisfied with the results and the outcome. The entire experience was amazing. We just moved into the Pensacola area a year ago, we decided to rent at first to make sure we liked the area.

Superb workmanship went into every detail of our 12 x 16 room addition built by Flynn Built! This was our first experience working with a builder and it went fabulously. Flynn Built took our request serious, listened to exactly what we needed and built it exactly as we planned. This was a no stress project and any changes were made quickly.
