Window Option Specialists

In 2018, we has Window Options Specialists in Lincoln put all new windows, 17 total, in our house. The brand was Gerkin. Two of the windows were set in brick; one above the other. When we have north-wind driven rain, the bottom window leaks. I reported the defect in 2018. I took pictures. I shot video. Dustin sent out a crew member to slop more caulk around the window.

The leak persisted. It was reported to Dustin again. Response time took longer. Again.slop on more caulk. 2021, it still leaks. Inspection by another company revealed substandard installation. Besides the leak, our house is considerablely draftier. We spent a lot of money on these windows and when problems arose, Windows Option Specialist was given multiple chances to rectify the problem, but failed to do so. They did the bare minimum.

Window Option Specialists replaced all of our windows and the sliding door to our back with Gerkin and we love them. The salesman, Shad, was fantastic to work with. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Window option specialist helped make our window purchase and install experience the best it could be. The salesman was great, made us comfy and offered great knowledge. The delivery gentlemen were great, very friendly, and very funny. Will definitely be a return client

The window installers trampled the pumpkin vines that my little girls have been growing for 3 months. My girls are 3 and 5 and have spent hours tending to these pumpkins. To some, this is minor but this broke. my heart for my little girls. The installers didn't even try to not destroy the vines. They also broke an old window when removing it and left pieces of glass and old screws all over my back patio for my kids and dogs to step on.

We were told "sorry" but the damage was already done to the vines (they have no chance if surviving) and I cleaned up the glass mess to prevent injuries. My husband and I build houses and this has made me second guess using them for our builds.

Mark was great to deal with and answered all our questions. Looking forward to seeing my quote for some replacement windows.

Mark was very helpful in getting the correct window upgrades for our home. He also helped us get a new front door, which was desperately needed! Drew was incredible in the way he installed our new door. He had to work some miracles to make it fit with the existing wood trim. Drew is very talented and detail oriented, and an excellent finish carpenter. Dustin was also great and very helpful with the installation. I highly recommend Window Option Specialists!

Bought 24 E series custom-size windows which costed $$$$. The very good: the windows are well made and the installer B. Rice and his crew are excellent, priced reasonably, and personable. Would do it again any day with this installer and his crew. The bad: orders have been mixed up and expensive to fix. Ron the pricing person was distracted. 2 windows were not costumed properly and exceeded the external opening dimensions that were ordered; and had to be to reorder; a frosted window was not frosted (we kept it as is); a french door was in traditional style rather than contemporary one as existing ones in the house.

That distraction cost me $2500 to reorder; Now (1/13) the contemporary doors are finally here (2 months later) with two left panels! I presume someone at the plant in Iowa was asleep at the wheel. Currently, I have a mismatched door with left contemporary and right traditional. The metal roll for the window cladding also disappeared from their warehouse the day before the 2d installation and will require another visit from the installer to complete the work. Ron does not answer his email regularly which makes it more frustrating, contributing to my mixed review.

Highly recommend! This team is knowledgable about their product & easy to communicate with. I really appreciate the extra step they went to advise, and guide me as I made decisions. Friendly, honest company!

I tried getting an estimate on my basement window and never got a call back. So I definitely would not recommend.

I've been working with window option specialists for going on fifteen years now or better. I'll just say it's really nice working with people who know there products inside and out. This day and age it's hard to find people who actually call you back and genuinely care about their products. Thanks guys.

I had a very unique and difficult project for Mark and his crew at Window Options. My downtown Omaha 6th floor condo had an improperly installed 4 pane sliding glass door that leaked and rotted out the subfloor. Mark at Window Options was one of only two that would even bid on the project and his bid came in $3000 under the other one. There were many challenges Including just getting the materials up to the sixth floor and then replacing the subfloor.

The installation crew was very professional, efficient and did an excellent, job paying attention to detail. Mark steered me to the correct sliding door from several options that now is the envy of my neighbors and most importantly doesn't leak. We had a cracked window and had them come out to talk about a replacement. Shad pointed out that our window (which they did not install) might still be under warranty from Pella. Sure enough, it was. We got a new window for free. Had they said we just needed a new window and sold it to us and installed it, we would have never known the difference.

This speaks to the honesty and integrity of this place. I will always use them for window and door needs in the future after this great experience. It's hard to find businesses and people of good character, but this is one of those places!

I had a kitchen picture window that the sewal had failed on and was fogging up. Mark the Window Option rep came out and looked at the project, and realized that all that was required was a glass replacement. He recommended a contact for the project. Mark's willingness to provide accurate info on what could be done saved me a considerable amount. That action is not lost on me, and I will most definitely deal with Window Options in the event of any future window need.

I worked directly with Dustin in purchasing a new front door, it was quick, easy and painless! I was able to tell him via phone what I was looking for, and within the same day everything was finalized and the door was on its way! Best customer service around!

I went into the showroom and worked with a sales person to pick out a new screen door. My current one was all glass and I told the sales person I was replacing it only because I wanted one where the top half of the door could open to a screen for ventilation as this feature was of great importance for me. He showed me one in the showroom that was all glass but had a one-hand latch with the top half having a retractable screen.

I asked if they had one where the bottom half was panel instead of glass but still had the top half retractable screen. He said not in the showroom but one could be ordered. He showed me one in a catalog where the bottom half was door panel and the top half was glass. I directly asked if the top half of this door still opened to screen for ventilation and used the one-hand latch.

He said yes. I wanted to order the door but had to use a different sales person when they found out I was using a local handyman to install the door. I had to call repeatedly to get a hold of this new sales person. We discussed the one-handed latch that was supposedly going to be on the door before placing the order. The company arranged to have the handy man pick up the door from the company directly (as it was standard practice).

He did and installed the door when I was not home. I came home to find a door with the old style two-handed latch system and only retractable screen for a quarter of the door. After repeated calls to the sales person who ordered the door, I was told there were no returns and all they would do is sell me the door in the showroom at cost. When I filed a formal complaint, they claimed the local handyman I hired to install the door was responsible.

Mark gave me easy to understand options for replacing my storm door. The price was reasonable. Once I had picked the exact style and options I wanted, he came the next day to take measurements. After confirming the deal, I waited less time than I thought I would have to for my door to be delivered and installed. Drew installed it so that it is. sturdy and keeps out that cold, Nebraska winter wind.

He was prompt and polite - and fast. All in all, I know that I found a company that I will be happy to do business with again and that I'm proud to give this review. If friends ever ask for a recommendation for a business to fix their doors or windows, Window Option Specialists will be the first words out of my mouth.

I really do need more than five stars here, Google. After getting bids from some "big name" window replacement companies (who made us feel like we were being sold some swamp land in Florida), a friend recommended that we speak with Dustin at Window Option Specialists. He took the time to understand our priorities, clearly explained the options available, and patiently provided straightforward answers to our numerous questions.

The bid was fair and prompt, as was the installation once the windows arrived. The crew leader explained everything at the start, then gave updates as the day went on. The installation team was an extremely efficient, detail-oriented, respectful, and tidy group who looked like they enjoyed their work. Dustin stopped by to check on their progress midway, and both he and the crew leader did a walk through once the job was complete.
