This company has amazing people who work here! Josh and Victor are super friendly and have gone out of their way to make sure things are done right, the way we want. I have referred many people here over the years. We have used them for many projects over time and will always go back, since JOSH is a master project manager!

I was looking for tiles to match my builder-grade Emser tiles for a small project (storage under the stairs). I went to the Emser tile store in Glendale and they told me the tile was discontinued, but to try Tanner Materials because they have closeouts (in addition to regular tiles) and I might get lucky in finding my tile. Although they didn't have my exact tile, Victor and Josh were super helpful at helping me find a tile that was similar to what I was looking for. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. In addition to tiles, they also have cabinets too. Who knew?? I wish I had known about them before I did my bathroom and kitchen remodel. I would have definitely used them. I also learned that they can do the job too; they have project managers that will come out and take measurements and complete the work. They also have slabs for countertops and pavers. They are truly a one stop shop for you remodeling needs. Although I wish I had known about them before, I am so glad that I know about them now. I have a few more projects to do, so I'll be back and I am definitely recommending them to my friends and family. Thanks Victor and Josh! And thanks to Gio and Jose, too...they were hardworking and friendly working out in the yard. As long as I'm in AZ, Tanner Materials has a new lifelong customer!

Customer service is A+. We did new flooring throughout entire home. Josh was a trustworthy, efficient, communicative project manager. He had great ideas and even connected us with someone who custom made iron caps for our kitchen beams. We discovered mold during the process which caused a delay. They worked with us patiently while we remedied the issue. Would definitely recommend Tanner Materials!

So very happy with my kitchen tile backsplash, remodel of guest shower and backyard Travertine (pool and landscaping is still not finished). Al and Fernando were very helpful with their suggestions. When ordering, it didn't take long at all to come in and all the installation guys cleaned up after themselves. I'm picky, OCD and hard to please so trust me when I tell you, I was very happy! Thanks Tanner Materials!

I am very happy with Tanner as they helped me with selection of Tile/backsplash/stair schluter.their prices are competitive and provide good feedback on type/style. Fernando and Brooke helped us and provided good estimates on tile that was ordered and shipped. Also, very courteous and able to replace the broken tiles with the big order. Didnot hesitate in replacing them and even gave a good timeline of when the orders will arrive. Overall very happy with their service and commitment and really looking forward to using them again. Please go and support this local business.

At first we loved Tanner. Great customer service when ordering, and great pricing. However, when trying to schedule install - they were difficult to get a hold of. Finally about 3 weeks later we were able to get scheduled. Once installed, we were very happy with the product we chose. About 10 days later while cleaning our slab in the bathroom - we noticed a seam.
The seam seemed to match a line in the slab, but then we noticed the bondo adhesive that was applied and now was coming off. The installers broke our slab when installing, but did not tell us about it. We have called Tanner, stopped by their office and have been told someone will contact us to follow up. It has been over a week since we went into the office and have heard nothing. We just want our countertop corrected.

Totally irresponsible with the poorest customer support. North Phoenix and Chandler share the name but one claims to know nothing of what the other is doing. They installed expensive glass tile in my bathroom and 3 of the panels cracked from behind. I called twice for an estimate to repair and they keep pushing the problem off between the 2 locations.
The Chandler location didn't want to deal with the problem so just decided to hang up. Good luck with this criminal organization. I'm looking into taking them to small claims court.

We had used Tanner 10 yrs ago to remodel master bath, It was just gorgeous when done. They also put down travertine tile in hall, entry and den. No issues. When it came time to remodel other baths and create a master bedroom closet we called Tanner. I had contacted Al in Feb 2021 when I found out I was going to have to have knee surgery and hip replacement.
We discussed at length the way one bathroom needed to be remodeled. I wanted a European shower where you could roll a walker in without issues. He put us on the cancellation list. I understood my remodel date would be 4/19/21. Morning of 3/27/2021 the day after I was released from the hospital after my total hip replacement Al called and wanted to come out to view ALL remodeling I wanted done.
I took him into the bathroom that was to be the European shower and showed him I needed a walker to be able to roll right in for a disabled person or elderly. He said he understood. April 19/2021 Johnny showed up to start tear out of the bathroom. I will not bore you with the details but Johnny drank everyday for 3 weeks as you can see by the pictures of the tile work. Now, Al was getting daily reports on the work.3 weeks my yard looked like a contruction site. 3 weeks Johnny drank on the job. Straw that broke camels back was he wanted to grout the shower floor.
I did not get my European shower. Al never visited the job. I was screamed at 3 different times on 3 issues. Al was difficult to work with and rather than work out an issue just wanted to scream and tell me my walls were crooked.even with him having built them. He promised to make it good on the next bathroom remodeled. I believed him.his way of making it good was to completely destroy my house.
His crew never cleaned up at the end of the day, we had to live with attic insulation all over the house. My remodel turned into a nightmare. The ROC came out and the report didnt favor Tanner They had to tear out the first bath down to the studs again. ROC found the 2nd bath tile work had issues. Long story not so short we are still waiting for Tanner to correct issues.
So far they come out.do little things not on the list. Al went so far as to tell us he would eat about 1/2 the balance if we just lived with the bad work.water ran, toliets flushed it, was functional according to Al. Mr Tanner the owner got involved and I thought progress would happen We had pulled back monies paid when Al determined he wasn't going to fix defencies because the bathrooms were functional.
On 10/27/2021 Mr Tanner called yelling and screaming that job was done and we just didn't want to pay. Threatened to call my husband employer and tell them was deadbeats we were, threatened to have me arrested and threatened to lien the house. Mr Tanner was upset because he had left 3 messages for my husband, but he was calling a man who was not my husband leaving messages. If you didn't get your estimate from Tanner but grateful. I wish we had not given them a 2nd chance to make it right. We will be filing a formal complaint with the ROC.

My husband and I recently remodeled our home and I couldn't be more happy! We looked at several stores but tanners by far had the best selection and best quality out there! Tanners removed all the old tile, carpet, and counters then replaced them with our wood look flooring and beautiful quartz counters I was so happy with the outcome! if you are looking to remodel your home Tanner materials is the place to use!

They installed the carpeting we picked out within a week. Their staff is very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The carpet installation took a little over an hour for a large bedroom and a closet. Their pricing is very good for high quality carpeting. Would strongly recommend them for any flooring project.

Buy your tile there if you patient but do not contract out installation services. Tanner's installation crew's are unvetted, whoever they can get off the street to do the work, do not follow best practices for installation, and do not expect the unnamed Tanner Material's GC/Supervisor to ever visit the site after initial quote, controlling quality and sub's.that is you job.

We walked into Tanner's on a whim and we're so glad we did! From granite selection through to installation, the team was professional, likeable and knowledgeable. Al was super helpful throughout the process - we always knew what to expect next. Harold, Francisco, and the instal team were on time, efficient and friendly. Truly an excellent local business! Photos after granite install. Stucco and finishing touches still to come.

We were having trouble getting kitchen cabinets and we went in and talked to Victor. They had lots of colors and styles to choose from and were able to get the cabinets in two weeks. The quality was very good and the prices very competitive. They also have tile and countertops, we didn't get those this time but we will definitely check them out in the future.

BEWARE! I cannot stress enough to stay away from these people. Very disappointed! I purchased my own materials for a bathroom remodel so I just needed someone to install tile, cabinets, countertops and hired Tanner-Phoenix. They don't protect your floors; so I had to do that on my own. They didn't protect my brand new tub either and the tile guy chipped it in 3 or 4 places that Tanner had to fix.
They split the wood on a brand new cabinet when installing the countertop. They sent one tile guy out who doesn't speak any English. Despite my couple of requests, they sent no one out to inspect the work. I complained about the finished work - uneven tiles, uneven grout lines, jagged cuts. It was decided by the new Tanner-Chandler team that they will tear it all out the next day and start over!
My designer had to get her Arizona Tile guy on the phone with the Chandler salesman to try to explain to him that you should have a glass cutting blade to properly cut glass tile! He took offense to that and cursed and said because my walls aren't even, my choice of product is hard to cut and my tub not being installed properly that maybe my job isn't the job for them.
He gave me the options that I could take what I get from them or be issued a full refund. Refund please. that I had to get on my own through my credit card company because no one reached out to me. I still have to replace the flooring and backsplash someday because that's a mess too. Meanwhile, I was still down to the studs and had to have my one and only bathroom back ASAP.
I was referred to someone at Arizona Tile. He is great at his job and I now have a beautiful bathroom! He didn't complain about crooked walls, my choice of product or improperly fitting tub.

This place had tones of options! I just wish it was better organized. We were trying to find several of the same tiles but in different colors and we had to look in a few different places. But other then that this place has tones of choices. From backsplashes to carpet tile laminate to counter tops and pavers. Enjoy!

Why did we wait.? Once we decided it was time to update our kitchen, Tanner Materials made it easy. We worked with Mike and Jim to get a quick education on the various counter top materials available today and then in selecting the specific granite color and design. They cut down the existing breakfast bar and created a spacious and modern kitchen peninsula. We extended our center island 2 ft. and dropped in two new sinks and facets. Overall, once the planning was done, the entire project was done in the same week.

Originally, I purchased cabinets and a granite countertop when we were remodeling the kitchen. Our general contractor recommended that we come here, so we did. We've had some problems with the cabinet hardware working properly and the slide-out garbage drawer ended up having to be replaced (the metal slide mechanism). This was about four years and a bit after the remodel. Tanner was pretty good about getting us a replacement, but it wasn't the same size and some modifications had to be done to the drawer to make it work again.
Since it was a few years after the install, I can't complain too much that the slide-out mechanism replacement was different. I rather enjoy the dynamics of the office staff, and they definitely tried to be helpful.

Had a very large job completed by this company with wood inside and tile outside over 3000 sq ft of materials. The work performed was a nightmare from the beginning. The material was not delivered when it was supposed to be, the workers didn't show up when they said they would, and when they did only one or two would show, stay for a short bit and leave.
The demo of the old material resulted in damage to other items. The cuts of the wood materials was poorly done that it had to be repeated several times. The floor wasn't always leveled and again had to be redone. Items verbally promised with work quality wasn't completed. The tile work outside had to be redone multiple times as water wouldn't drain properly off of it. Tried to work with the owners and foreman multiple times for all of the problems with little to no resolve. Family business or not you don't bully and try to intimidate people when you do a poor service. If you choose to use them, do so at your own risk.

Good quality product and competitive pricing but in my opinion, this company is not worth the effort to do business with. Total lack of respect for my personal property; un-necessary delays; incorrect/incomplete bids; lack of communication between sub-contractors, client and company; bad information about finish options, etc. Not to mention resulting to personal insults when confronted with concerns. Too bad because it would be nice to do business with a long-time local company instead of a big box store. But. Never. Again.

Visited their showroom over a month ago to pick out tile that would be available, and to schedule installation (last week). The materials I wanted, i learned last week were not available on short notice (not what I was told). The materials i ordered last week was to arrive friday (it didnt). A crew was to be here last week to start shaping a shower basin and doing the pre work on walls. (they didnt show up). Thursday call. they confirmed a crew would be here friday morning (they stayed 15 min then left). Friday call said a crew would be here Sat morning (no show).
Call monday at 9 said another guy would be out at 10 (no show) a call at noon said he just sent my address over to a guy should be arriving soon ( no show) now they are not taking my calls. Dont believe them. plan your project with someone reliable. NEVER AGAIN. I've got visitors coming next week and should have this done last week.

I am a professional residential property manager and have been responsible for renovating multiple apartments that were originally built in the early '60's. I've contracted with Mike Tanner for each of the units as tenants move out. Over the past 6 months, with Mike's help, we've completed three units (cabinets, quartz counter tops, flooring and even exterior pavers). I could not be more pleased with the performance of Mike and his crews. Mike has earned my business and I have already referred him to my other clients.

I get a chuckle from so many of the reviews. It is a family business and the dad has his opinions and can be a bit grumpy (and sometimes sleepy). The dynamic reminds me of the tv show Pawn Stars. I have used Tanner Materials for three jobs and have been very pleased with all three jobs. The bids I got from tanner were 5-20% less than others and the intimation was timely and very professional

If I could give negative stars I would. This company agreed to match our other bids by adding the countertop to bar area at same price. They did not however send modified contract and later when they did not do the bar claimed that we did not have it in writing. The younger TANNER immediately threatened litigation and used vulgar language to my wife and eventually me.
I called the older TANNER (the dad) and received more of the same. How they stay in business with this type of customer service is beyond me. Be sure to look them up with the ROC also and BBB. they may have been able to get complaints removed and that is why YELP is such a great forum. Run away from this company!

This one star review is based on service received from Jim the owner. If there was a way to do business with this company and only deal with Mike the owners son than this would be a four or five star review. Jim has no customer service skills and will be negative and impossible to deal with. Look at all the other negative reviews based on working with Jim.
He will make you upset and wishing you never did business with them. Also, make sure you check your receipt because they will overcharge you on the thinset and grout. I would not recommend using this company.

Tanner has just completed two shower/tub tile jobs. The experience was very good. Greg Church was easy to work with on choosing our materials. We first went to their Phoenix showroom which was very unorganized, so we then went to their Chandler location which was by far nicer and easier to select materiel.

I've been using this company for 8 years now and have installations done by them and also just purchased tile and installed it myself. Overall I spent approximately $20,000 here. Twice I have over estimated the quantity of tile I needed and had no problem returning the excess until today. The owner of this company is a very rude person to deal with.
You should here how he treats his employees. And then the customers after he is off the phone. It's totally ridiculous. I gave them one star for usually having the products I needed. As you can tell by this review, I will no longer be doing business with them. I hope this helps your decision when selecting a flooring company.

My wife had started a kitchen redo, but she passed away 2 weeks ago. The kids and I knew how much she looked forward to this, so I moved forward by calling Tanner's, talked to Mike, and we set up an appointment on his calendar. Long story short, I showed up at his place and as far as I know, he did not. I waited over half an hour, and no one there appeared to want to call him and I never was contacted by him.
He did not appear to care about the job, he disrespected the memory of my late wife, he has never followed up with a call, and I left the materials she chose because if appointments aren't being kept, it would be logical that projects won't be completed correctly. I would not be able to recommend them. Josh
