Won't service the $66,000 system they installed. I hired RM to install a system 10 years ago and I was very pleased with their service. I've even been a reference for them multiple times. I don't know what has changed, but when I needed a simple service two months ago, they gave me a runaround for weeks, promising to come out in a week and then going out of touch.
When they finally committed to a service date, they waited until the only day we've had rain all year. Their foreman called me up to tell me that if they came out, they couldn't work in the rain (understandable), but would still charge me $150 for the service call and I'd have to schedule a second call at additional charge some other day. He didn't offer any other alternatives like coming the next day or waiving the charge if they had to reschedule.
I told him that was unacceptable and asked him to go back to the owner and find a better solution. Instead I got a terse email from the owner telling me they were not longer interested in servicing my system and I could go find someone else. Had I known this is how I would be treated in the future, I would have gone with one of the big name solar providers instead.
Regardless of what the sales person tells you, solar is not maintenance-free. You will have problems with the system. Inverters and panels go bad. And if the provider won't service it, you'll be looking at tens of thousands of dollars of useless glass and silicon. Sorry RM, based on my recent experience, I can't recommend you anymore and you've gone from five stars to two in my opinion. Please do not use any of my prior recommendations in your future marketing.

We started the process at the end of May and were told it would be 6-8 weeks because of jobs before us. They started in July and were the most conscientious workers of my landscaping that I have ever had. The process was longer I thought but the utility company was surprised we were on line in august. We have air conditioning and our aug/sept bill was $35.00. So pleased.

This is the most nightmarish experience of our life. We signed with this company in July we are now the 11 of November and our solar system which was finalized last week after months of mistakes in installation and 7 fixes as well as3 failed inspections from the Building department and the City of Colorado Springs has stopped working. We are told to be patient, no one has come to check and we already have put 2 complaints with the BBB and are now asking for mediation. We have never experienced such a dilettante, rude and incompetent company and wish to warn any potential customer of the nightmare awaiting them.

The president Lotus had no clue about solar it seemed. He kept changing the subject To talking about how I should believe in aliens! He definitely made my decision not to go with this company. Seemed I got more answers out of the foreman Richard. He was a nice guy just worked for a horrible company.

We had a great experience with RMW&S from start to finish. Just turned our system on, and everything is working exactly as promised-and the project came ahead of time and right on budget. Communication was great at every step- from Camilla, our sales rep, to the project foreman and electrician who did the installation. The panels are high quality, the company is local and has been around for years, and the 25-year warranties offered by RMW&S beat all of the 7 other companies we got bids from. Definitely recommend, and we're happy we went with them.

3 people in the office and no one knows what is going on. Every conversation was like a bad Abbott and Costello routine. I had to do the permit search for them. If it was a sitcom on Netflix it still wouldn't be funny. Is this even a real business? Go ANYWHERE but to them. Edit : I did ALL of the research after I was told there was no permit. Then the person who was supposed to contact me "mistyped" the permit number I provided and said my information was wrong until I proved them incorrect.
The idea that these very rude people want to try to scold me when I have witnesses to their lack of competence is laughable. Also it is pronounced turBINE a turBIN is a headress. I will keep good on my word and tell everyone I kniw how bad the customer service is.

We have an electrically heated home in Teller County at 9000 feet surrounded by national forest with great exposure to the sun and a roof design perfect for solar panels. We had four local companies compete for our business with Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind handily winning the RFP. Their staff is knowledgeable and proficient, while their American made products have not disappointed us in a 31-snowstorm season winter wonderland by nullifying a significant electrical bill via our rural electrical provider.
After 18 months of worry free service we are looking forward to our 33 panel system paying for itself within 9 years, possibly sooner should our winter storm numbers decrease slightly providing a remuneration from feeding the grid. Research and product selection are critical in this process, and to date we are pleased with Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind.

Rocky Mountain Solar & Wind won my business after competing with 4 other companies. They were both best on price/kWh and service. The other companies wouldn't do much besides s sales pitch before I had to sign on the dotted line while Camilla at Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind actually came out and did a shading survey and took measurements to give me some real data about what solar panels would generate on my property.
She did all the leg work in making sure my rebate applications and paperwork were completed so I could get the largest federal and CSU rebates possible - a real weight off my shoulders after all the research done in making sure solar was right for me. Communication through out the project was great before, during, and after installation. When you're searching for a solar installer, you'll find that sales people can be a little pushy, especially if you allow them into your home. Not so with Rocky Mountain Solar & Wind. Camilla gave me the space to look around, get other quotes, and yet stayed responsive when I needed help and had questions.

Rocky Mountain Solar has been a great partner and I'd gladly recommend them to any of my friends or neighbors. I am happy and would use them again. I did 3 bids with Rocky Mountain being the most responsive and willing to explain more of the basics to me from the beginning. Their price was competitive but I opted for their solution that included a slightly better solar panel that had better guaranteed capability over a few decades (it degraded much less than others over time).
The work was done well, they communicated well, the workers were respectful and kept the area clean. They took care of my rebate work with the local utility and all permits. I had one main contact to work with thru the process and she was great to work with (excellent job Robin) The tool they have for me to watch my solar production is great - simple to see on my phone or a computer. I had one hiccup after the system was up, issue with being in an older part of the city, and they were very responsive and worked quickly with me to solve the issue.

Wow, just tried to call and get an estimate on a remote power system, (says to call in for details/pricing on website) and was basically hung up on.twice and accused of being a sales person trying to sell them something. Well "Summer".wow.terrible CSR skills and congrats on being one of the rudest company representatives I have ever spoken with. Def would not do business here after being treated the way I just was.unbelievable
