In 2008, Pickett Solar was started by the team at Don Pickett & Associates, Inc., a local commercial construction company with 40+ years design-build experience. We learned, the hard way, there was a need locally for a solar company that specialized in large commercial installations. You see we had been on the "buying" end for a number of our own commercial projects.

But when we searched for a solar company willing to handle larger commercial projects, we ran into roadblock after roadblock. Yes, there were a few companies willing to do the work, but when it came to large commercial installations, they were dabblers.

This video shows the work of Pickett Solar, a commercial solar installer located in Fresno, California. Pickett specializes in commercial, agribusiness, and government solar installations. We've installed one of the largest rooftop mount solar systems in the nation.

Pickett Solar installed 822 solar panels at 300 watts each on carports for golf club. Carports also provide shade for customers. 365,845 kilowatt hours will be saved annually, which is equivalent to the C02 emissions from 29,000 gallons of gasoline consumed.

Pickett Solar installed the 2.9 megawatt solar system for SunWest Fruit near Fresno, California. With 9,576 solar panels, this is one of the largest rooftop mount systems in the nation. 3,922,600 KW hours will be saved annually, enough to power 490 houses for a year.

We were so happy with the results and the savings that we are adding a 2-megawatt project that will add 6,360 more solar panels. This will bring our total offset of electricity to 72% and will be one of the largest privately owned systems in the Valley.

These guys know solar. Not only do they do a great job on the installation, they also understand the best way to maximize the system size. They focus on commercial and industrial and I had them install a system on my office. The first year it overproduced (or we underused) so we turned the AC down to zero out the true up.
