After serving four years in the US Air Force, Robert Bourque and his wife Sandra settled in Fort Myers, Florida in 1973. With his training in electronics and radio maintenance, Bob decided to pursue a career as an electrician. After three years of hard work as an apprentice and journeyman and finally a master electrician, Bob opened Sun Electric Service in 1976.

From out of town and needed options information and a quote for a generator transfer switch. Bob himself responded to my call and regretfully told me he was understaffed due to covid19 and would not be able to help in my time frame. What he did do though was outstanding. He took the time to answer some questions about my options and reccomend some others who might have staff that could help me. He is a bright light in these conflicted times.

What a pleasant experience. Live in Chicago and our AirBnB in Florida was needing an electrician. It is so daunting to secure services from remote. From the moment the young lady on the phone picked up the phone to the fast turn around to diagnose the issue.stellar fast! Bob diagnosed it quickly but more importantly, ,,,,h onestly. I had a simple electrical job (replace 2hanging lights and put in a dimmer switch). The electrician was professional and very pleasant. When the new dimmer switch didn't match the 2 other switches in the switch bank, he suggested changing them to match. The cost of the 2 new switches was reasonable ( $5 each). I am very pleased with the service and will call Sun again.

Yay Bob! My AC breaker tripped last night, probably because it's a dinosaur and it fell victim to the flooding rain. So I toughed it out sleeping with the windows open. This morning I tried resetting the breaker again and poof, the electricity for the whole house went out. So I call FPL to see if an outage occurred at the exact same time as me flipping the breaker. Nope.
I broke my house. So I call these guys and I talk to Bob. I tell him I've tested all the breakers, including the main breaker. (Me thinking the main breaker is the one on the very bottom in the breaker box.) And guess what? That's not the main breaker. With phone in hand Bob directed me to where the main breaker is and u flipped that breaker and whalah! I've got power. Sure, he could have charged me a service call to do that, but he was nice and saved me the money. Very honest. Deal with Bob for you electrical needs. I'm sure you can't go wrong.

Rang Sun Electric on back of reviews. Talked to secretary who put me through to Bob. Told him I had lot of electrical issues in my living area. Bob Told me he would come out for first hour for 95 dollars and see if he could fix it or give me a fair repair price. Bob came, looked and Fixed! In that ONE HOUR. My problems are NO More. Bob's Your Man. Cheers Bob.

From the start of working with Sun Electric I have been pleased! The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. The owner came out the next day to give me a quote and did not try to sell me more then I needed as did the other quote I received. We needed wiring for a pool heater from our garage clear across the house to the other side. The guys did a professional job and we had heat for the pool!
Two weeks later I had an issue with some power going out at around the time my pool pump was turning off and on. Bob came out to see what the trouble was. We figured out the issue (my cords outside for lights were turing off the power due to dampness, I had it on a dusk to dawn timer) so it had "nothing" to do with the job they had done. Then, in the mean time the pool pump would not stay on.
The breaker malfunctioned. Bob came back a second time to replace the breaker and did not charge me for the two trips that did not even have anything to do with what they had done in the first place. WOW, Great guy, great company! I highly recommend you use them when you need electric work done. They are willing to go the extra mile. You do not find that much anymore. Thank you!

After finding the website and phone number on the internet, I called this electrical company at 10am and explained the electrical problem in my condo unit. Mr. Borque advised the approximate fees he would need to charge. He arrived punctually 3 hours later and actually charged less than he estimated. He was truly professional and we will recommend this very decent man whenever we get a chance!

For impeccable, business-like response - Call on Sun Electric. I was at the mercy of two squabbling vendors, Xfinity & Litestream. The tech from Litestream told me that I must have an electrician drop another cable through the house so that I would have Xfinity's internet and Litestream's TV. Luckily, the tech from Xfinity was on site when Bob Bourque arrived to assess the situation and give his quote.
Their conversation, and a Litestream service tech on the phone, led to the conclusion that one more Litestream visit may resolve the issues. Despite the disconnect in advice that I had from both Xfinity & Litestream, Bob, in contrast, was calm, practical, and gracious. He offered to return should the TV people's work fall short of running the needed inside cable. Bob clarified with a smile that Sun does not specialize in TV or internet, but he could return as needed.
Thank goodness for that cool drink of water called Sun Electric competence. Sun's office was quick to make an appointment and to keep me posted on arrival time. Most of all, it's reassuring to know that I can call on a well seasoned master electrician when the going gets tough.

When my husband and I moved into our first house, we did not have any ceiling fans because the house was so old. We wanted to install fans into all the bedrooms. A family friend told us about this company. It's family owned and operated, and Bob himself came over to give us a quote for the job, he was extremely friendly and the prices were very fair and reasonable.
We are so happy with the fans, and the company. If we ever need future electrical work, I will absolutely call them again. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. They do great work, and I like to support local business.

This company serviced my house promptly after I called to make an appointment, and the staff was very accommodating and professional. I had 4 exterior lights installed on my house about a year ago. I also had motion sensor lights installed, and I am extremely happy with all. Just recently, I called them again to have them install a heat lamp for my bathroom. I am very pleased with all their work.
