These guys are great. They moved the service entrance and upgraded my panel to 200A in a 1912 house in Duluth. The work was clean and high quality and the guys left no mess behind them (in fact I think my basement was cleaner after they left). Jim was easy to get in contact with for an estimate and I was able to have guys on-site the following week to do the work. I was very happy with the experience and would recommend to anyone looking for electrical work in Duluth.

Jim's crew was on-time, answered questions, and quickly and efficiently pivoted from a simple to a longer job after unintended complications. I'm glad to have found this company and will definitely use them if our household has any electrical needs in the future. A+ would recommend to anyone! Lenard is a very capable electrical contractor. He handled a large commercial project for us. Of all the subs on the job, both union and non-union, Lenard was the most efficient, always on time, easy to work with, had clear and timely billing, and was fair with any change orders. Lenard is a non-union contractor. I recommend Lenard for any residential or commercial project, and I will be asking him to bid on future projects.

Lenard Electric comes highly recommended based on our recent experience with their service. We have a 70 year old cabin that needed an electrical upgrade/overhaul and then new construction that needed electrical as well. From the initial meet and quote process to the actual install, Jim and team were very professional and the quality of their work was excellent.

I have worked with Jim and Lenard Electric for many years. Lenard Electric has always helped us with our electrical issues with honesty and integrity. Jim and his great employees always do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it for the price they quote. Keep up the great work!

We are a small general contractor and have been using Lenard Electric for over 20 years. We have had great service and professional work at a fair price. We are all human and may at times have an oversight and Lenard is no different, they are not perfect. That being said, Jim has always left our projects with 100% complete satisfaction. We value our working relationship and feel they are a trusted sub-contractor. We have no reservations to recommend them and will continue to use them on a daily basis.

Do not trust his "estimates". He will call it an estimate (and a high estimate at that) but it is actually a quote that he calls a "bid" if he comes to your house to look at what you want done, and he won't tell you about that upfront, which is how he said he's done things for 20+ years and nobody has complained about it. He also informed me that if he hadn't come to my house, then the "estimate" would have been an actual estimate which is subject to change, and not a quote/bid which is a locked in price. Basically, he charged me a minimum of $175/hr for labor, which included travel time, simply because he was in my house for under 10 minutes. I will NOT be using this company for future electric projects nor will I be using companies that refer him.

I hired Lenard Electric to complete repairs after the July 31st Storm. His electrician came out as promised. However he left garbage all over my yard that I had to request the owner to pick up. Which he did one month later. The electrician had removed an exterior plug and not replaced it. When I noticed that this was missing, I wrote to the owner and asked him to please replace this plug, believing it was an over site.
He was in the process of setting up another project for me at the time. Instead of making this right as he should have, he wrote a very nasty text back to me, did not offer to replace the plug, and cancelled my upcoming project saying " Please do not text me on Sunday. I have a life too." Unbelievable. This is not the Minnesota business code of conduct that I am used to.
In retrospect he is overpriced and rude. I would not recommend him to anyone. There are many competent courteous electricians in Duluth who can do the job. No need to be treated this way by Jim Lenard. Jim Lenard has contacted me several times by text since this review: twice on Sunday asking me to correct the quote as reflected above. The review was written by me Susan Berg not Nicholas as posted (my son had logged on to my computer).
I received a sarcastic text on Sunday from Jim Lenard suggesting I use my real name. Sorry Nicholas. Jim has also tried to defend his position stating that he was paid late for the storm repair project. In reality he agreed to this job as an insurance job and was paid as soon as the insurance check cleared the bank. He also stated he picked up the garbage, old electric boxes, wire, conduit nails and packaging, which he did, a month later.
To date he has not offered or acknowledged that he should replace the outlet that his electrician removed. He does not understand that his behavior was rude and unprofessional and seems intent on trying to defend his disagreeable response. I have asked another electrician to replace the outlet and Jim Lenard to leave me alone. His position indefensible.
