I have used DM Steele Fence a few times over the last 20 years. I always go out for bids and they are usually one of the lowest. More importantly, they are fast, professional and accommodating. This fall they were able to get it installed before December even though I changed the order twice. I really appreciate the entire team: office and field. Thank you!

They were by FAR the most economical choice of the five estimates I received, and every step of the process was smooth. They hide behind the contract they have you sign which basically lets them drive their truck into your house and it's not their fault. Installed my fence and every post hit our sprinkler lines. Every. Single. Post. You would think they'd hire installers with common sense who would see that they are hitting the line every time and move the fence a few inches which would have saved us $800 in sprinkler repair.

But nope, got the excuse the lines are small and dirt is flying. They can't be expected to see what they are drilling into. They are bright blue lines. Kind of hard to miss. We signed their contract in good faith knowing we may have to repair a spot or two. Not the entire line. If you like businesses that are full of excuses and take zero accountability, this one is for you!

Des Moines Steel Fence was fabulous to work with. We had other projects that got delayed and they worked with us to reschedule multiple times. New business in the area called for a new fence pretty good size one for the perimeter of the property here but they said it sends one out if not the same day the next day for sure we can have later never heard from them but I did save money on my car insurance but thru Dairyland lol I would've been happy with at least a call back and rescheduling but to ghost you ran welcome to the neighborhood

Great experience. Received four (4) quotes (5th company refused to give a quote), then found Des Moines Steel Fence Co., Inc. Estimator was very helpful, explained everything and did not rush to get out of here. After discussing all the various items he gave me a quote within 15 minutes, most impressive. More than that, this was the best (not cheapest) of all the quotes received and there were no hidden charges come time to pay.

I had three (3) 4-foot walk gates and one (1) swing gate across the driveway plus about 180 feet of fence installed. The installers were great, answered various questions I had about the installation and ensured everything was just as expected. I am most impressed with the courtesy and workmanship of the installation crew.

I called on December 7 and was told they were booked out until January 1 for installation. I told the receptionist I just needed an estimate and was treated rudely. As I said before I just needed an estimate and could have waited until after January 1 for any type of installation. The receptionist didn't even ask if after January 1 was ok if I accepted the estimate.

My yard is 3/4 fenced in already and the rest of the yard has the posts already there for chain link but she did not even ask me about this. Also, there was nothing on their website showing they were booked until January 1.

Our fence turned out great. It took a while to get on the schedule because they are so busy, but I thought that was a good sign that they have a lot of experience. Eddie and his crew put up a beautiful 6ft aluminum fence with three separate gates for a yard that has quite an incline. It was a beast of a job and the men worked hard to get it done in a few days. They were friendly and kept everything very clean and clutter free. I am very happy with the investment.

Wonderful work! To begin the process we had a tricky spot to deal with and Mark helped make sure that we were going to get it done right the first time! The office staff were great to deal with. The men who showed up to put the fence up were professional and got down to business.

DSM Steel Fence was great to work with. There were some issues with a hill in our backyard and they kept at it until they got it right. In the end we are very happy with the fence and the service. It's so refreshing when a company cares enough about their customers and their reputation to redo a fence a few times to get it right.
