United Roofing Group's President Nathan Sparrow, began working for a commercial roofing company in 1988 as a laborer that tore off and disposed of old tar roofs. He was fortunate that a few old school roofers recognized his potential, and took him as an apprentice to show him the correct means and methods, and tricks of the trade that allowed him to progress quickly into a Foreman position after only 4 years.

He wore many hats including Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Safety Manager, Estimator, and Project Manager helping to grow the company into the largest commercial roofing company in Alaska.
