These guys are fantastic. Ross and David do a phenomenal job with our yard. We have had them out to our house several times. We have a mix of old and new trees on our 10 acres and they have been incredibly helpful at protecting what we have. I could not be happier with my experience with Dave Leonard Tree Specialists. I needed to have several trees removed, several more trimmed, and a support cable installed. They were extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and completed the work for a very fair price. Everyone was very friendly and made our experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend them to anyone. -Edit - Previous experience a year ago was great. However, I tried to follow up with some additional work this year.

It was difficult to get in touch with anyone via phone or email. I figured that they were busy and they finally sent someone out. I was supposed to have Ross come out for a follow-up and to give me a quote within a couple of weeks from the original visit. After a month, I followed up with an email and was promised that someone would be out again within the week.

That was just over 2 months ago and I have not heard anything from them. I hate doing this after such a great experience the first time, but I would not recommend Dave Leonard Tree Specialists after this experience.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business. The original owner has sold the business, and the new owner treated us unprofessionally multiple times during the process of scheduling our job, and was very rude when politely questioned about multiple issues. Part of what you pay for in a tree service is trust - trust that their staff are skilled and will do the job without damaging your property or risking harm to your house or to other people.

We can no longer trust this company after multiple instances of poor behavior and hostile responses after we questioned them on their lack of professionalism. Do not use this business.

Dave and crew have taken care of our trees ever since the 2003 Ice storm. Advice, treatments, trimming and removals have been done with professionalism. I am pleased to pay a premium over the "lowest bid" companies in Lexington in order to work with them. EDIT: 18 years later we are still using DLTS for everything trees. They come by regularly for care. They let me know when nothing is needed (rather than just taking my money) and are straight with me when there's bad news. Strongly recommended!

I had Dave Leonard Tree Specialist come out and remove 6 street trees, grind the stumps, and plant 6 new trees. They were responsive and fast in getting the project quoted and showed up on time to do the work. They were very professional and cleaned up the mess and debris from removing the trees. Pricing was extremely competitive compared to quotes from other local arborist. I'm very pleased with the work and communication throughout the process. Will certainly use again when needed.

I was looking for a tree service to remove a large tree near our home. Dave Leonard Tree Specialists were responsive to come for an assessment of the tree and provided a variety of options for how to care for the tree or remove it. Their price was also lower than several other companies I contacted. Once we had a date set to have the tree removed, their three person team was prompt, worked quickly, and most importantly worked safely.

I had some hesitations beforehand because the tree stood partially over my house as well as our neighbor; however, their team took every precaution to precisely remove every branch without a single one hitting either house. It was honestly really impressive. After they were done, they cleaned everything up as hoped. It was a pleasure working with Dave Leonard Tree Specialists and I would definitely recommend them to anyone else looking for tree removal or anyone interested in caring for and preserving the plants they already have.

After watching Dave Leonard Tree Specialists remove street trees from our neighbor's home, we hired them to remove two 70' white pines from our backyard. They were professional and easy to work with in every area of the process (quote, schedule, arrival, removal, and clean up). I would hire them again in a minute. If you choose to hire this group you will not be disappointed. If you have very large trees like we did, pop some popcorn and prepare for a spectacular show - they are amazing!

This is our second time using the folks at Dave Leonard for tree services and the experience was excellent just like the first! I lost a large limb out of a Sugar Maple during the last high wind and it was a huge MESS. The Dave Leonard group showed up with their equipment within 48 hours of my call (lots of other damage in the region) and within an hour had everything cleaned up, shredded, and hauled away. The next day I took my rake out to the area expecting to have some final cleanup, but they had all but vacuumed the surrounding lawn where the limb had fallen.

There was NOTHING for me to complete! I've done business with Dave Leonard for years and have always received the same level of professional and courteous care. You cannot beat them!

Wonderful service. Dave came out to our office and walked the grounds, identified some safety issues caused by some problem trees, diagnosed some trees that needed extra care, and made some suggestions of what issues need to be addressed now and what to keep an eye on for the future. We have a few very large, very old trees that Dave paid special attention to insure that they remain healthy for years to come.

His crew has been here two different times to remove some trees and do some pruning on others. They are the hardest working crew I have seen. They work efficiently and safely. They cleaned up their mess when they were done. I would recommend them to anyone. We will certainly use them again in the future.
