Linder Electric was founded in 1958 by Clint and Helen Linder specializing in residential installations serving the greater eastside. Our first shop was located in downtown Redmond performing services from a Volkswagen bus and old Ford panel van. Years passed and Clint and Helen's son Bob joined the family business and entered into the seventies expanding services with a new building and new vans.
Bob purchased the business and employed 4-5 journeymen. By 1975 Linder Electric became a model small business servicing the Puget Sound region in the commercial, industrial and residential industries. Bob's two sons Mike and Jim graduated from Washington State University in the mid 1990's and on the company's 50th Anniversary year purchased the business from Bob. Currently the company employs 8-10 employees.

Linder Electric has worked on some of the more prominent and sophisticated industrial sites in the Puget Sound area. Our team is dedicated to working competently and efficiently within a larger build. That level of experience means we can also quickly come in to work on smaller projects within an existing building, minimizing interuptions to our client's daily operations.

I contacted Linder to replace my home electrical panel so that I could add two EV plugs in my garage and prepare for a heat pump and heat pump water heater that would soon follow the project. The bulk of the install process was great and professional. The project hit a snag at the very end when I noticed that the second EV plug was 120 instead of 240.
I was told that the panel that was selected wouldn't work with a second EV plug or with the the heat pump devices that were going to come next. That was a shock! I had wondered about this before we started the project. I asked if a higher-amperage panel was required. I was told "that's a big deal and will cost you $20k." There was never a statement that the panel we were going with wasn't going to cover the stated project goals.
After the project, I called PSE to get a better understanding of the service they offer to my home. They told me I had been given bad advice and that they could deliver whatever amperage I needed without trouble. The new panel that was installed was 125 amp. PSE told me that they guarantee 200 amps to the home, per WA law. They also said that I ALREADY had 200 amp to my home, so clearly no requirement to pay $20k to get it.
I reached back out to Linder with the new information. I proposed installing a higher amperage panel and that I'd pay the bulk of the cost but wanted some discount because I didn't feel like this poor outcome was entirely my fault. They told me that they "don't do work for free", even though I wasn't asking for that. They told me go to talk to Bel-Red Electric if I wanted the issue fixed.
That was another shock. I thought that the relationship had gone pretty smoothly up until that point. I guess they had booked a good profit on my project and didn't want to give that up. In any case, I think it is good advice to go talk to Bel-Red electric. I will go do that and explain that I need help in right-sizing my new panel for my project goals.
In summary, I have no reason to question the quality of the work at Linder. The install looked super clean and was done quickly. A friend had recommended Linder. He is super handy and would have never got into this problem. He would have calculated his amperage requirements before even calling an electrical company. I don't know much about electrical and was expecting guidance from Linder on how to proceed per my stated project goals.
In fact, I asked them about this later. They told me that I negotiated too hard on price and so a 125 amp panel was the only option at that price. That's a really strange way to do business. The panel upgrade cost $7k. Is that a lot for a 125 amp panel? So, if you need help navigating your project and are not too familiar with electrical, you might look elsewhere or end up with the same outcome as I did. I'm just a regular home owner like a lot of people.

Our power line was torn off the house in a windstorm. We were desperate to get it fixed and didn't know how to proceed. Called Linder after being referred to them and got voice mail. Finally got a return call and was told to deal with PSE ourselves even after explaining that we didn't know how to do the forms. I guess we just aren't a big enough fish.to them. Very discouraged with their customer service, our job was a "Go do" and they blew it.

I needed a charging port installed for my car. I called several places. Some never got back to me, some wanted to charge for coming to make an estimate (and wouldn't credit that toward the work), one gave a rough estimate based on pictures I'd sent and said that the final charge would "depend", and one just ghosted me. Linder sent BJ out and he was great.
He showed up on time, gave an accurate estimate, came back to do the work on the day promised and did a great job. He was efficient and very personable. The city inspection of his work went without a hitch and the inspector seemed impressed with the quality. I'd call them back for future work in a heartbeat.

Never actually came around to do any work. A guy came in and did an estimate for installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage, got an OK from me, and then would message me once every couple of weeks to find out when I'm available. That's all great, but then he goes quiet for a couple of weeks. The work is still not scheduled or done. It's been a month and a half. Unbelievable.

Few companies hold to the professional standards of Linder Electric. Their work is excellent. Their response time is quick. In addition, they handled an error on my end as though it was no problem for them. It will cause them more time and effort and their main goal was to make me feel comfortable. I recommend them highly.

I recently had an electrical problem that I was attempting to troubleshoot myself. The people at Linder electric are very professional and courteous and treated me like their most important customer. They provided guidance and assistance and treated me with respect. They genuinely seemed to appreciate that I had called them. More important, my problem got solved very quickly. I would recommend them as an electrical contractor to anyone and would not consider anyone else if and when I need major electrical work done.

I would not do business with these guys. Several of their installed GFCI burnt out on a house we just purchased. They came to take a look at it and blamed it on other contractors. They went ahead and replaced them all without giving any quote or estimate. They were there for about 45 mins. Later sent me a bill for $500 which I had perceived to be warranty related work.
If it was not, they should have been upfront and provided a quote so I could decide I want to work with a company who does work that fails so quickly. I would not be surprised if I find more issues with their work.

We had an electrical problem that ended up being a bad breaker and a bad outlet in an old home where I have lived for 10 years. Having an electrical problem we could not figure out was very unsettling and they arrived when they said they would, figured out what equipment had failed and were professional and polite in our home, and gave us peace of mind knowing they could tell us what had failed and what needed to be fixed, and fixing the problem correctly and clearing up the issues. Stand-up guys!

Linder came out for a minor job a year ago and while the elec was there he heard a humming noise in the microwave. He spent two hours trying to figure out the issue and after figuring out nothing, left me the bill for the two or three additional hours. If the tech cannot solve the problem, DONT BILL THE CUSTOMER. What prompted this review is their Linder Electric truck parked at the Home Depot veterans parking slot this morning.
It means NOTHING if the electrician might have been a veteran; if so he can park HIS vehicle there, not a company vehicle. Tacky, unprofessional and unnacceptable to bill someone for absolutely nothing solved wrt the microwave which was not the original reason he even came out. Sad you guys are so desperate for billing and business; hope you go out of business just like Daly's did in Bellevue ripping off their customers.

BJ came out on the same day that I called. He fixed the breaker which restored heat to our chilly home! I am so grateful for the quick response, excellent professional service and getting to learn a little bit about how my fuse box works. I definitely recommend BJ with Linder Electric! We are toasty warm on a cold rainy night. Thanks BJ!

We purchased a new fireplace from Kirkland fireplace which necessitated electrical work. Linder was the subcontractor to Kirkland fireplace. It took 3 phone calls over a 5 day period to get someone to return call. They sent out a service tech named Matt and he seemed to take way longer than was necessary. Our contractor in general remodeling commented on how slow he was.
Thirty days after they left we received the bill which was quite high. I asked owner for an audit of the bill. Instead he had Matt call who proceeded to be argumentative and condescending. Needless to say I never did receive a call from his supervisor, nor will I ever have anything to do with this company again.

We used Linder Electric through our kitchen remodel with the Home Depot. The work was expensive, but apparently did not include enough work for us to pass the electrical inspection at the end because the job was not finished. We were told it was finished but failed an electrical inspection, which is not what we expected after paying about $2,300 for them to move a couple of outlets. In the end, my husband had to finish the job because they never called us back.

I had an issue with a tripped GFI, but wasn't able to locate it. I called Linder, and within 30 minutes got a call back from Matt - who was busy. After I told him the issue, he walked me through what I needed to do on the phone - without coming out here. And it worked! Huge time saver, and truly got me back up and running with my electricity issue. Thx, Matt!

I rarely write negative reviews and am saddened since the profile offered such promise in past client experiences; not to mention I used them years back and it was a great experience. As a contractor, I had both Corey & BJ at two different jobsites w/in 3 weeks of each other - one for a whole first floor, the other for large master bathroom. Both were initially very responsive and made accommodations to come onsite. THEN NEVER returned a bid.
Multiple promises on when one could expect a proposal and no follow through. I understand people get busy, bids get delayed ( I'm in the trade!) but 7 weeks no answers, no bids, then ignoring phone calls and kind text prompts for update. Forget it, if they want to turn down what has now been signed work with another company totaling $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 in business guess they are too good to work on my honest residential projects. Don't call if you are needing a job right now, let alone if you are 3 months out.

Need an electrician who goes the extra mile? Look no further! Call Matt from Linder Electric. It is rare, especially on the plateau, to find an electrical contractor who will go above and beyond. Matt brings years of experience as an electrical contractor and backs it up with a high degree of integrity and a commitment to safety. We used Matt to correct some electrical issues that surfaced in a home inspection and he fixed everything on the checklist - from installing new GFCIs to more complicated issues. What's more! He delivered on a very tight schedule.

Super honest guys. AC company quoted me $900 to $1100. But when they arrived and looked around, they said I can save money in half by running the line from the old water tank I had. Some company would just do what AC company suggested and charge me around $1000. I am super satisfied with Linder electric.
