In 1938, Jack Starnes founded Valley Roof and Insulation Co., of Chico, CA. After 12 years of running the business, he decided to partner with his two sons, Ted and Robert Starnes. They renamed the business Butte Roofing Company in March 1950, and a new era was born. In 1963, after Jack passed away, Ted and Robert took over the company.In 1964, Ted bought his brother's share to become the sole proprietor of Butte Roofing Company. Ted's son, Mike, began roofing with the company in 1972 after graduating high school. Ted ran a successful business and retired in 1997, leaving his son, Mike, to run the company.

After a heavy winter storm, I contacted Butte Roofing. Jordan from Butte Roofing returned my phone call and provided a thorough roof inspection and roof inspection for a very reasonable price. Jordan provided me with a detailed explanation of the roof inspection and repairs needed, and why the repairs were suggested. I plan on calling Jordan, Alfredo, and Butte Roofing Co when I'll need to repair my entire roof in a few years. I will definitely refer my local friends and family to Butte Roofing.

I needed my roof repaired in order to maintain my current homeowners insurance coverage. They are very friendly and they did a 5 star job with the repairs, however, I'm giving them 3 stars because they refuse to provide me with proof that the repairs were made which is necessary for me to retain my insurance coverage. I've made multiple calls and each time they promise to send what I need but so far they have failed to deliver. This has been going on for 4 months now. Sad that I may lose my coverage due to their failure to comply with this very simple request.

Butte Roofing Co was SO great! I needed a Spanish Tile replaced on my roof before the rain came. The guy returned my call right away, made time for my repair, came when he said he would, and had the new tile up in less than 20 minutes. I am so happy with the service I got, and that my roof got fixed before the rain. I highly recommend using Butte Roofing Co for roof repairs.

Always pleasant to deal with, timely in their work schedule and quality workmanship. They went above and beyond in that the original builder did not put vents in the roof, hastening it's decline. Butte realized the problem and installed several vents to extend the life of the overall roof. Service: Roof installation

After buying a home, which another roofing company had previously repaired for the previous owner, we found that the roof was still failing, causing massive water damage. Butte roofing was able to assess the issue and repair a rather complicated flat roof repair on a 100+ year old house. Al and his crew were amazing! A tree branch had punched a hole in my roof and Al went out of this way to come out on a Saturday and repair it. The guys did a fantastic job and cleaned up all the debris. I can't say enough great things about this company and it's employees.
