We have used this company several times and have always had a positive experience. They are honest and up front about everything. Never any surprises. I highly recommend their services.

Great experience. I lost one of my business car keys(including the lock and unlock button). Instead of going to dealership(where I would have probably paid alot), I tried this company. This dude Nick took care of me in 15 minutes. It was inexpensive. I recommend this company highly!

For what it is worth, I served in the United States Army for 20 years. I have served as a chaplain of the Salvation Army for 7 years. I have served the community as a preacher for 40 years. I normally do not write reviews and I have no reason to lie about a business. With the said. My wife called American lock and key on Saturday, they told her that a fob and programming that fob would cost a total of $90.

I call them on Wednesday, and they told me the fob and programming would cost $100 dollars with no key. With a key he said, that it would be $135.00. I went there to get the fob and programming done, the gentleman ask me had he given me a price yet over the phone? I said, yes $135, he said yes and with tax it would be around $140. He got the fob, program my vehicle, and cut the key.

Once everything was done, he said, that it would be $249 dollars. I told him that he said that it would be $140 with tax. Then he said, that I never spoke to him on the phone. He began to ask the other clerks had they spoke with me, they all said no. Then I showed him the phone call, so he ended up admitting that he did in fact speak with me about 30 minutes ago.

Then he said that the fob cost $120 dollars by itself, but he charged me $150 for the fob by itself. If the fob cost $120, are you telling me that the tax on the fob is $30 dollars? They over charged me $149 dollars. Go there at your own risk!

I am extremely pleased with the service that American Lock & Key provided today. I requested same-day service, and they were able to send a technician out this very same afternoon. The Technician Scott Crocker called before arriving, was extremely friendly and efficient, and did an absolutely outstanding job! I can't say enough about how great my experience was today with American Lock & Key, and specifically with technician Scott Crocker.

Highly experienced and knowledgeable staff. I brought in my worn down car key and they were able to remake a new one to factory based off of my terrible key. I have been here several times for things other locksmiths said they couldn't do and it was no problem for them. I would call ahead to make sure they have everything in stock just to be on the safe side though

I went in today to have an extra FOB key made because I "thought" my extra key wouldn't work for the ignition. Andy educated me about my "valet key, " and assured me that it would be appropriate for my extra key needs. He was right. I appreciate the fact that he didn't try to "sell" me something that I really didn't need. He was very nice and knowledgeable, and for all the above reasons, I'll return to American Lock and Key for ANY future needs

Scott arrived promptly, and was very candid about what would and would not work on my property. He also shared quite a bit of helpful information pertaining to upkeep of the locks. Would definitely use again for anything else in the future.

Jenny was pleasant and easy to work with for scheduling our lock change. Scott was friendly, helpful, patient with his explanations and went above and beyond with our door situation. We will definitely be using this company again.

Went in to get a new fob holder for my Honda. Was helped right away and given a much sturdier fob than what I could find off Amazon. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. This is my second time in here for a key and will continue to use their services.

Couldn't have had a better experience with John. He was fast, efficient, and very kind. (Also great sense of humor ahah) I called and he asked a few questions and was there in 20 minutes. Not only that but he was able to get me the code on the outside of my car that no one knew when I bought it. I would 10/10 recommend them for your locksmith services.

My key fob broke one afternoon, and even with pliers, I couldn’t get my car started. I called, and once we established that my car was not going to start their locksmith was there in less than 1/2 hour. I have used them before, and they are great! I definitely will use them again.

Haven't been able to find a place with the right blank for my very old house key. They had it; made me copies in 5 minutes; and they're super nice!

American Lock & Key has always helped my family and business with our lock and key work. They're our go to Richmond Locksmith! This time they installed a new Nest Yale Smart Lock and door knob. Everything works great. Sam even took the time to help me install the app on my phone and teach me how to use it!

Would like to let you know that I have had 2 different experiences with American Lock & Key within the past year. Once to get new keys for a vehicle and then today, holiday weekend, John came out to my home to replace the ignition cylinder on our 2007 Honda. He resolved our issue quickly and correctly. Job was done well.... no complaints. There were some time delays, but may or may not have been the company's responsibility.... otherwise would have been 5 stars. Customer service and friendliness of staff and installers is uniformly good. Recommend this company.

I can't believe I'm writing a review of a key place. Holy mackeral - these guys are awesome. The most knowledgable people I've ever seen in this business by far. I threw them a couple curveballs after another locksmith recommended I go see them if I wanted to resolve my issue. They know their stuff bigtime. If you need anything more complicated than a house key made I wholeheartedly recommend using American Lock and Key

Amazing people here! Called them about getting a Honda Fit key cut and programmed, got a quote, went to the shop, and got everything done really quick all within 30 minutes. They were very helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are so much more reasonable than what the dealership quoted me. Thank you again guys!

Fast, friendly and easy to work with. Came out on a Sunday to fix a broken Kwikset lock on my house. Also brought in a difficult key to duplicate and they were able to duplicate the key correctly which other locksmiths couldn't do.

I have found my new locksmith! I recently purchased a new transponder key for my vehicle from Amazon, I took it to Lowes, Home Depot and Pleasants (Ace) hardware stores to have it cut. To my frustration and disappointment neither of these establishments would cut the key for being afraid to mess it up (imagine that).

I called American Lock & Key because I needed a part for a lock. I spoke with Mike on the phone and he confirmed they had the part. Once I arrived, he made sure that the part was indeed the correct replacement item.
