Capital Lock

Update 03/22/2022. Stopped in with a lock assembly out of my gun safe which I was missing the key - I literally wasn't in the store ten minutes - key blank identified and four keys cut and out the door. Super reasonable, professional, they ARE the "go to" security professionals. Thanks again Capital Lock, you guys are awesome. One other review said this is the "go to" lock shop in Madison - they were absolutely right. Professional, honest, and reasonably priced. I live about 40 minutes away and won't use anyone else - definitely worth the drive!

These folks are the experts on door hardware and locks. When you can't find what you need this is your go-to place. Plus they have friendly helpful service.

We called with a door emergency at our business and Justin was out that afternoon with not only a repair but a remedy for issue. Installed a completely new store front door lock with a push lever and automatic locking. Clean, professional and extremely helpful. Will only use Capital Lock from now on.

Do not recommend purchasing locks here. They sold me a lock for over twice what I would have paid on Amazon and refused to lower the price. Naturally this did not come up until they had already rekeyed the lock. I understand that they need to make a profit, but their price ($249) versus the internet ($95) was egregious.

Got locked out of car. They said they could have someone out in 2 hours. 1 1/2 hours later they arrived. Only took a few minutes to unlock my car, didn't try to upcharge me or anything. Overall happy with the service. Service:Car lockouts

Locked out of my apartment and they charged me $138 for a guy to come and wave a fob on my door lock. He smelled like cigarettes and it just didn't feel professional. They have a contract with my apartment complex so we're forced to use them. Although they were upfront about the cost we didn't have the ability to shop around. I feel so bad for the people who can't afford such a large amount. It could really be devastating for lower income families.

Awesome experience! Called him and asked how long it would take to make duplicate keys. He said "just a couple minutes". It LITERALLY took less than a minute! Super nice guy, quality keys, and great prices. This is the go-to shop in Madison!

We had a great experience with Capital Lock and Justin in particular. He arrived early to both appointments (the walk through and the actual work) and went the extra mile to explain the project and new lock to us. He even fixed our loose door knob though it was unrelated to the lock project. Really great value for the work and the service!

I have used them twice in the last 2 weeks. Once at the hotel I manage, and the other time for my condo storage unit. Both times they got back to immediately and were there within about an hour. The situation for the hotel was for a guests room and was after hours. Fair prices, quick results, and excellent service. Can't beat that.

The technician was very polite and friendly, both when he came to re-key the locks and when he came back to re-attach the doorknob that fell off. My problem came over the weekend; my parents were locked out of the house, mainly because the doorknob had fallen off, but when they called the company they were told they would be charged the weekend emergency rate, even though it was Capital Lock's fault.

The icing on the cake was when I called Monday to complain, the reaction I got was, "sorry I had to go through that", but Sundays are for emergencies only. I don't know about you, but my 73-year old father trying to unscrew screens to get in the house in high heat and humidity might have resulted in an emergency of another kind. Fortunately the technician from Lock and Unlock was willing to come out but also gave my parents a tip on getting the door with no knob opened. Guess who I'll call the next time I need a locksmith?!

We had Capital Lock come and work on two exterior door locks shortly after we moved in to our home. They were professional, timely, friendly and have stood behind their work, as we needed to have them return to take a look at the front door a second time. I recommend them.

Called with a question about programming an ignition key. Capital didn't have the technology at the time, but they were very helpful in referring me to another locksmith who did. Since businesses sometimes refuse to refer people to their competition, I thought it was worth acknowledging their good will in this case.
