I purchased a condo at 83 East Church St. which was built by Riedman Homes about three years ago. I have never seen drywall and paintwork this bad. That seems to be an issue with other condos in the building and is evident throughout the hallways. I can see every drywall seam, which was not correctly feathered, and my painter has to come back and skim coat the entire wall in my master bedroom and kitchen area (kitchen wall is uneven).
I think when you consider that most of the condos range from $300,000 to over $500,000, you’d expect to have higher quality workmanship. I am surprised by talking to many of the condo owners that Jay Benesh, the realtor that represented this property for Riedman Homes, didn’t disclose to the potential buyers of the ongoing complaints with sound transfer between floors. (Significant impact noise from the floors above the units) The condo owners initiated an acoustical/sound study, and the recommendation is not to walk around in your home with bare feet, which is unbelievable considering the complex was marketed as a premium condo community.
The tenants in the building told me that they talk to David Riedman about the issues, and his response was the building meets code, which is not the answer that anyone expected after spending this kind of money on a supposedly premium property. I found out from talking to some of the best acoustical companies in the country there is a high probability considering the drywall work (visible seams throughout ceiling and walls) and the amount of impact noise coming from the ceilings that the resilient channel was not installed correctly (crushed).
I am in the process of hiring an engineering firm to open up my ceiling to assess if the resilient channel is installed correctly or not. I informed the other condo owners about the analysis and If the channel is not installed correctly upon inspection to initiate a class-action suit against Riemann Homes. (Structural defect) I am willing to let anyone who is looking at a Riedman property to come in the building and look at the hallways and my condo for themselves. (jwf1racing@gmail.com) I would never buy another property from Riedman Homes.
I believe Jay Benesh five star review is disingenuous considering he has represented properties for Riedman Homes and should have mentioned that in his review. I would question any review from someone that does not live in one of the properties, or there’s no corresponding content explaining the rating. Someone has manipulated my negative rating of one star to maintain a five-star rating for Riedman Homes. I will contact Google on Monday and find out what is going on.

If any property they offer is like the The Park apartments, I suggest you stay away from them Riedman. No maintenance at site and they do nothing to upgrade the property. Exterior doors don't always lock and it's supposed to be a secure building. We were notified they were putting new door in this past spring, that never happed. Doors are flity, and slam constantly. I'd be afraid to go to Highland Hospital Since they are constructing the addition. All repairs here they use inferior products, or don't repair them at all.

Fairport Savings Bank first began working with Riedmam Homes in 2010 utilizing our single-close construction loan program. Our borrowers have been highly satisfied with the quality, coordination and timeliness of their work. Since then, we have enjoyed working with Riedman Homes, including their projects in Kilbourn Place and Canalside.

I have been in my home for just over a year now. This has been a year of getting things in order, downsizing, adjusting and rearranging. The move to the city was a big one for me. I am in a period of discovery. I never knew the city had so much to offer. Along that discovery path is a place I now call home.

We just completed our walk through for our first year in our Riedman home. Not only have we been pleased with the quality of our home, but more importantly with the follow through and support we received from Riedman and more specifically Matt Krautwurst. We never felt abandoned when we closed. Every concern and problem was addressed promptly and efficiently by Matt.

My experience with Riedman Homes has been great. The sales person is very responsive and extremely knowledgeable. Explaining not only their product, which is excellent, but also the differences from other area builders. It is an experience that has helped put my clients at ease and one that I am glad to refer whenever new construction is an option.

Working with Riedman Homes was a very good experience. By nature, my wife and I are picky individuals with very specific expectations. At every step of the building process we were accommodated in nearly every aspect of our design preferences. Lori and Christy helped us to understand ways to stay in budget while still creating our dream forever home!
