We hired Decksteriors based on positive reviews posted by previous clients and could not be happier with the final product. Our new deck is not just a solid, well-built structure, it is also beautiful. I highly recommend Decksteriors to anyone interested in hiring a reliable, professional company.

I have used Decksteriors over the past ten years to construct decks for two homes. Keith is a very competent builder. He is honest, competitively priced and does great. Highly recommend.

We had the owner Keith Smith come over to discuss options/ideas with our outdoor space. After discussion and measurements we agreed on a project consisting of a pergola and custom patio window wall made of cedar to provide a bit of privacy as well as a place to design my living confederate jasmine vine wall. Both pergola and wall took about one week and looks fantastic.

The price was competitive and reasonable and we received a military discount. Keith is a Master Carpenter who worked very hard, polite and professional and cleaned up at project end. I plan to stain myself in a few weeks. We plan to have Keith back in the future! We highly recommend Keith!

As a Real Estate Agent, not only have I used Decksteriors for my home, but I have referred them to multiple clients. The owner is very straight forward with communication & his teams work ethic. I've had multiple large decks in the past, none of them have had the clean cuts, workmanship or design done by Decksteriors. Not to mention there isn't much they cannot create! Very impressive!

I started out with a deck and ended up with a deck and glass enclosure which turned out beautiful. I have oak trees which I did not want to lose, so he cut around them and they are in the middle of my deck, giving it a lot of character.

We added a deck with Jacuzzi on our house. The deck is over 800 sq. ft. We're very excited and pleased with the result. The reason I chose Decksteriors was the design. We initially looked at 3 different companies. The work was done in a couple of weeks which was quicker than I expected as it was a large project. The entire experience was a pleasure.

We hired them to work on our deck in October 2016. They said it could take up to two weeks to start which was fine however they didn't start for over a month. When they finally 'finished' the deck, we had to call them back out to fix the spacing in the railing which was obviously wrong compared to the other rails on the deck. We are now almost mid March 2017 and they still have yet to 'finish' the deck as it has not been properly secured and added the completely wrong arch to the top.

We have received excuse after excuse as to why they haven't come out or why they had to cancel, yet again, from coming out to finish the job. Unless you want your deck done incorrectly and unfinished, I highly do not recommend this company.

I too had Decksteriors do two projects for me and they were both excellent. They were professional and did the jobs in a timely manner. It rained, but that couldn't be helped, but they did their best to keep on schedule. They also cleaned up their messes, which I can say all contractor don't always do. Keith also kept us up to date on what to expect and when I made changes, he explained that the adjustments would be additional which I understood.

By the way, the person in the review below is incorrect because Decksteriors does not do staining and never has, they refer this work to another company whom I have also used and they too do excellent work. I still use them from time to time to freshen up my deck. Bottom line is that these guys do a great job and I would highly recommend them and have.

Two of my neighbors have used them after seeing the quality and workmanship of my deck. They too are extremely pleased with the company, the management, the crew and the product they received.

Designed and build a new deck for our home, using composite deck material called Evergrain. Price included hauling off old decking materials, all materials and labor for new deck, including skirting around the bottom. Jeremy did a great job working with us on the design. He visited on 3 occasions to work with us on making sure the deck was designed to our needs.

Prompt, courteous, and always kept me informed. I would highly recommend this company. I have had other contractors do work for me in the past and this company is far superior to most. I like being kept informed and they did an outstanding job of this. The workmanship is great and they cleaned the area daily and when finished with the job.

The second deck had endless problems. The builder that showed up had not been acquainted with the plans and then made HUGE mistakes in following them. When I confronted them, they tried to argue that I didn't know how to read the blueprints.

They almost had me convinced until I took another look. Once they admitted their mistake, we had to make BIG adjustments mid-project to make it turn out okay. Worst of all, we ended up having to pay additional money for these necessary alterations. The final blow was after everything was finally complete, Keith's sales guy Doug offered to have HIS team sand and stain the deck.

The weather kept causing them to have to start over but even on days that were beautiful they would show up late and barely accomplish anything between cigarette breaks. In the end, they stained around our barbecue pits and closed up the underneath instead of putting a hinged door. As well as completely forgot to stain our picnic table. When I contacted Doug, he promised to take care of it but never did.

I can't find his company to write a review but I do feel like Decksteriors is partly responsible for the entire debacle. If you decide to deal with this company, I would micromanage their every move. And don't pay until the job is completely complete and visually inspected

Would I hire them again? Yes. We initially contracted with Decksteriors to expand our existing deck and construct an arbor. Decksteriors representatives worked with us through numerous homeowner association (HOA) inquiries, HOA and neighbor requested design changes and subsequent building permit and engineering requirements.

This is by far the best deck builder in San Antonio! Decksteriors made for me beautiful deck on my house which is near to the lake. The feeling to drink coffee every morning on this deck and to breathe fresh air can't be viewed with words.

Last week, I made an appointment for the Decksteriors sales rep to come and give me a quote for an arbor. When he didn't show, I sat around for an hour and a half waiting for him. He contacted me hours later, told me he was with another client, and apologized for double booking. I accepted his apology -- mistakes do happen -- and we rescheduled for today.

I left him a reminder voicemail last night and another this morning. Still, he didn't show up for the appointment this morning. When he was 10 min late, I called the company and waited around for another 20 minutes while they tried to locate him. Then he called me to say that he had double booked again and wouldn't make his appointment this morning. I said there was no need to reschedule since I have lost all confidence that they will show up (much less show up on time!) if I were to hire them to build my arbor.

He will always do his best to help the consumer. He does not take short-cuts that are commonly taken in the industry that the consumer will rarely pick up on. I would ALWAYS refer people to Decksteriors first before anyone else.

Best employer I've worked for. Honest businesses practices. Put out a consistent product. Customer satisfaction is top priority.
