My mom had them out at two days ago to fix our central air. He got here on time and called first as requested but he didn't check to ensure it was fully working properly before leaving. It froze up that same night and won't turn back on now and they want another service charge to come back out 24 hours later! We had just paid 220 dollars for them to want another fee. He never even looked at the outside unit. Never agin will I use their services

I had them come to replace a thermostat and I was told by the technician that with my discount it would be $49. (and some odd cents). When they debited my account they took 453.30 out. I called thinking that it was just an error and no, that was the cost. They said prices whet up. I told them I was told it would be $49.00. They said they would call the technician but we all know how that goes my word against hers.
I did sign for the service but what that had me sign was just a screen with a signature line. I never thought they would be that deceptive and dishonest. From now on I will record all conversations with any technicians so I don't have this problem again. Oh, the thermostat cost 122.00 on Amazon, that means they do a 400% markup on their parts. Lynn B

Nick & JD were right on time, very nice guys & made quick work of relocating our kitchen gasoline (they had to do some ductwork too to get there!). I really appreciated how fast Church could respond to my appointment request & how easy communication was the entire project. Will be using again, will even try to request Nick & JD if possible. Had to call the overnight emergency guy and Caleb said he would be sure to get us on the schedule and we would get a call the next morning. I stayed home from work and by 9 I got nervous and called, there was no record that I had even called the night before. The lady on the phone was nice though and got a very friendly plumber out the next day. It's just too bad I had to miss work for an extra day when we already have an unexpected expense to deal with. Not to mention the inconvenience of turning the water on and off to do dishes, laundry and take showers until the work is done

This was quite possible the best service call I've experienced. JD explained everything and worked with me so I could see how he worked through my radiator issue and we came to find a solution. He also listened and repaired my toilet so much better than the last person we had called out for the same issue. Church will be getting all my calls from now on. Thanks so much!

I have no idea how Church Plumbing & Heating ever got these bad reviews - my whole family, and our neigbors where we live in southern Michigan, are DEVOTED fans of this business. They are quick, super reliable, extremely affordable (relative to such services), and totally professional - they have either fixed or newly installed several items for all of us and there have been ZERO problems.
Plus they back everything up, are kind on the phone and in person. I could go on and on, mostly as a reaction against these negative reviews. Were they written by people hired by rival companies? That's my only explanation. Quentin Martin, Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Called them in the morning and they were able to get a plumber out by 11 that day. Guy called me and said it would be several hours worth of work. Come to find out he was done in about 30 mins and had to fit a piece of pex pipe in. They proceeded to charge me $390.00 for the 30 min repair. Multiple calls to the company with no call back from management. They refuse to give me a breakdown of work performed saying they don't have to because they are a flat rate company. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

I had this company last year for my furnace and outside AC unit. I was told they would do a cleaning of both units. When I called to complain that my furnace was not cleaned under my service agreement I was told they only do a basic cleaning. The tech did not even do a basic cleaning. When I called to complain about this they did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem.
There radio commercials are not true. They do not care about resolving the customers problems. Church does not have a problem taking my money but does not do what they say they will do. I no longer recommend Church and will share my experience with others.

First of all, the $99 service call is a little on the steep side! Secondly, they state that if you use their services, the service fee will be waived. That is laughable! My tenant called Church out to our shop, directly across the street from their office, tech wasn't there even 10 minutes and they quoted her $402 to clear a clogged drain. $402 and the service fee is waived.
I call bs! Considering they don't give pricing over the phone and you're already $99 in before they even open their toolbag, it's a total rip off! I had Frog Plumbing come out to my home a couple months ago, that guy worked his tail off unclogging my drain all the way to the main. He also fixed a leaky seal while he was there. Total cost $248! Thanks for being not so neighborly Church! I know crossing that 2 land road between us was exhausting!

Horrible experience. Had them come out to look at a leaky pipe in my basement because my normal plumber couldn't fit me in. The so called professional plumber said that the leak was coming from the valve when even my 8 year old could see it was coming from the pipe above the valve. Claimed they would need to remove concrete around the pipe and valve, the foundation and replace the water line all the way out to the main valve at the road. Said the repair would take 3-4 days and gave an approximate quote of $4000, but that the boss would email an official quote Monday morning. Told me that the leaking pipe would be fine over the weekend. Monday came and went without a quote, but a phone call apologizing that they didn't get the quote to me on Monday and it would come first thing Tuesday.
Quote didn't arrive until almost noon on Tuesday and was over $5000! In the mean time, the pipe burst Monday night (remember the Church plumber said it would be fine that I didn't need to turn the water off to my house) flooding my basement. I called another plumber to fix the disaster in my basement. He came afterhours and fixed the leak for only $200 and it only took him an hour!

Never again. Had a toilet not flushing after 3days of trying all the YouTube suggestions called church. The person I talked too said we probably need the truck with the correct equipment for drain cleaning. The plumbers showed up and did exactly what I did auger and plunge to no avail. They said they needed the equipment that was in the repair shop when I was supposed to have had. Paid for nothing other then what I'd done called to complain and was told they would talk to the service manager. We'll guess what they never called. Terrible custom service

Poor customer service. I paid for the yearly maintenance plan and that meant, I wasted my money. They did not come out in a timely fashion. I have 2 leaky faucets, still. The plan gives you no priority. Then the people answering the phone give excessive attitude. I called another company and got a second opinion, church wanted to replace my tankless hot water heater for thousands of dollars when another company was able to tighten a piece and only cost a few hundred. Very disappointed and will never use them again!

My air went out on Wednesday. I contacted church via email Wednesday evening not expected a response until late Thursday. At 7:45 am Thursday I received a call from church and in a matter of minutes a visit was scheduled. The technician was friendly, professional, listened, was concerned about cost and respectful of my home.

I guess i should have read here first, i would give them negative stars if that was an option. i was out of town and my wife was at home with no heat and she called church plumbing and heating for help. the tech came over, looked at the furnace and said it would be around $500 to repair. my wife knows nothing about furnaces so she trusted the tech and agreed to the price since she had few options since the heat was out for over 24 hours. the tech said he had to replace a pressure switch and had to go get one. he left and soon returned and he was in the basement around 30 minutes and said he would send the invoice later. when we received the invoice all it said was pressure switch $543.00. after doing some research on my model furnace i found that the most expensive pressure switch was $43, so $500 for labor and driving to get the part seems pretty ridiculous. when i returned home i called them and asked for an itemized invoice and was told they would call me back, when they didn't i went to their office. there i met with Mike Church, the owner, who told me point blank NO that they would not give me an itemized bill and that my wife was given a price and she accepted. IMO his statement told me all i needed to know about this company, they are hiding costs, overcharging for services and will never be honest with customers. i do agree with his statement about the quoted price being given but i do feel that they took advantage of the situation; my wife not knowing anything about furnaces, and took advantage of my family at a vulnerable time; no heat for 24 hours. IMO i would never recommend this company as i see them as deceitful and willing to prey on customers any chance they get just to make a buck.

Excellent service. Church installed and maintains our heating and a/c and our water heater. Whenever there is a problem, they look for ways to save us money, searching service re-calls, etc. They are professional, on-time, efficient and courteous, and they do a great job of explaining what is going on to non-experts like us. I highly recommend them.

I recently had Church out to work on a few things at my house. I have a few complaints with my service from Church. First off, they operate out of a "price book" where a certain job will cost a certain amount. It would be fair to pay that rate when it turns out to be a 5 minute fix, as long as when something goes south, they stick to that rate. That isn't how it works though.
I drastically overpaid for them to fix a toilet, for which they just screwed on a new flapper. But when rodding my drain went sideways, they stopped and said "this is going to be more expensive." When discussing what was going on with me, his phone rang, and mid-sentence he picked it up and started talking on the phone like I wasn't even there.
I went back in my house. I called him on being rude, to which he replied that it was the office and he had to take the call. I get calls from my office that I have to take too, but that doesn't stop me from at bare minimum saying "Pardon me a second, I really have to take this." Lastly and most significantly, after rodding my kitchen sinks, they told me they couldn't free it up, that I had a break in my main line outside my house, likely under my concrete patio (yikes).
They were to get back to me with numbers. I told them that I had a home warranty, and I wasn't sure if they would let me choose my own plumber or not, but that I'd be waiting on their figures. I never got anything, which was probably fortunate. I had another plumber come out and he rodded the lines and told me that my issue wasn't in the main line at all. The guy rodded the same sink lines that Church had already done, except now it works. No digging or concrete patio busting needed.

Absolute garbage company. Incompetent, incapable of meeting their appointments, incapable of dealing with the problems their company creates. I would do anything to avoid this company in the future and recommend the same to anyone. Everyone else I've talked to about them has a similar horror story. It's a little scary realizing that utterly incapable people would run a heating/AC/plumbing company, as these are utilities people rely upon and Church is entirely unreliable.

We called Church plumbing to help with servicing of a/c units at an apartment complex, upon scheduling the appointment nothing was ever mentioned about a service call fee or inspection fee as we asked for an estimate of work required. The worker showed up on time and spent about 20 minutes looking at the central a/c units later that week they sent a bill for $380.00 for a service call.
Again nothing was ever signed or agreed upon for these charges and now they continue to seek payment from a collection agency. Do not use this company unless they explain to you the hidden fees they later try and charge for a service request.
