Winesett Nursery & Landscaping

We used Winesett Nursery and worked with Eli to install bushes around our fence over 10 years ago. When we decided to have our backyard landscaped, they were the first we called. Eli provided an amazing landscaping design proposal for our back yard. He listened to my "vision" and included everything I requested. He was super responsive, professional, and friendly.

Everyone on the Winesett Nursery team is very helpful and professional and friendly. The crew that installed our landscaping were wonderful and hardworking, answered all our questions, and got it done super fast (despite the heat!). It was amazing to see the design come to life. Everyone was on time and kept us informed throughout the process. We are very happy with the work they did for us! Would HIGHLY recommend.

We, Sumners', are very impressed. Great job! Highly professional. From design to implementation, any questions we had were answered. The irrigation was done to accommodate the new beds (they actually increased the efficiency of my existing system), they took care of everything. They also installed a paver patio that has maximized our entertainment area. The whole crew were highly respectful. We would absolutely recommend.

We needed a makeover of our flowerbeds. Eli was great to work with and had an amazing vision and great ideas. His communication through the whole process was great and appreciated. The workers were efficient, friendly, and cleaned up everything when done. The foreman was so knowledgeable and friendly while here. Definitely impressed!

Eli and the whole crew at Winesett did an amazing job. We picked a busy time of the year but they managed to squeeze us into their schedule and once they started, everything was done in 2 days. Winesett is an absolutely amazing company to work with! They completed a large reconstruction of our front yard, which had drainage issues, a non-functional sprinkler system, roots from several long-removed trees which were causing our front walk to buckle and weed-infested grass. They cleared and graded the entire yard, added a new stone walkway, installed irrigation, added lighting, sod and new plants. I have nothing but positive things to say about the design process, communication and end result. Would highly, highly recommend them for all of your landscaping needs!

Professionalism all the way around! Showed up when they said they would; did exactly what they said they'd do; cleaned up after every workday; and every crew went the extra mile to make our experience excellent! The initial consultation with Eli set the tone. He let us know the approximate cost and the timeline for completion. The first design revision was breathtaking (albeit, a bit more extravagant than we had budgeted for).

After a couple of revisions, however, we confidently moved ahead with a great design. Even after the installation began, the team made several significant value-added changes like raising one of the beds, splitting it and creating a swale between the two sections that would prevent the bed from washing-out during the rainy season. Neither my wife nor I knew anything about landscape design, indigenous plant species, bed preparation.

Despite being very hands-on, landscaping wasn't something I was willing to tackle. We gave Eli some initial guidance (e.g. likes/dislikes etc) and he and Mr. Winesett (the designer I'm told) hit a homerun! They removed the grass, installed sprinkler system, added about 4-6" of organic matter, tilled it into the existing soil, layered on 2-4" of manure, drilled holes and installed the plants and mulched - by mulched, I mean they laid mulch, tamped the mulch down around all the edges, smoothed it over w/ the back of a leaf rake and didn't walk on it again.

The level of detail that each of the team members paid to our project was amazing (and appreciated). For the rock "gardens", they laid a thick membrane down, pinning it every foot or so and carefully placed the rocks. We couldn't be happier w/ the final product! Side note: we have an invisible fence and knew they'd hit it during installation. I showed the guys where the contuit was under the driveway and where it exited and entered the beds and they reinstalled it and verified it functioned correctly.

I realize this is a bit lengthy but I can't say enough good things about our entire experience w/ Winesett. The last thing I'll say is that once the entire process is complete, you will quickly recognize the VALUE of Winesett Nursery.

I had been following Winesett's work now for over a year and have always loved their end products, so when we decided to do a paver project, they were our first choice. The turnaround time from estimate to job completion was extremely fast (two weeks). Eli was our designer and we showed him a few photos of what we liked. He quickly got to work drawing the outline of the proposed paver patio with curved wall, grill nook, and paver walkway leading from the driveway to the patio.

Upon seeing the design, we were immediately on board. We love our new paver patio and are currently working with them on front and backyard landscaping. We can't say enough great things about Winesett and we are eagerly anticipating the completion of our landscaping project with them. Update: 12/26/2021 - our landscaping project was completed this week and the results far outweigh our expectations!

I gave Eli a vision for my backyard and he brought it to life. We had 10 trees removed and standing water issues with just dirt. The team was so professional and the hardest working crew I have seen. They came to work smiling and ready to work, even though it was 90 degrees! I love how everything turned out and would recommend this company to anyone I know.

I have not yet used this Winesett but I can guarantee that I will offer them every referral I can until I have job to give them myself! Last week in the Blackwater area of VB I found myself on the side of the road at 8:30am changing a flat tire with my two elementary age daughters standing under an umbrella in the pouring rain. A gentlemen whose name escapes me, pulled over in his company truck and insisted on helping.

Initially what felt like an opportunity to show my daughters how empowered their mother was [to change a tire] it became a reminder that good humans still exist. And this one works at Winesett Nursery.

Winesett did an amazing job of our front and backyard yard drainage, irrigation and landscaping. They were polite and professional, collaborated on the design, and the installation went smoothly. Update: The strip of grass had gone dormant and after a few weeks of twice daily watering, it came back. The drains that were installed are working flawlessly and I am very happy with the results and have changed my rating to five stars. Original Review: I had some underground drainage installed this week by the folks at Winesett Nursery. Everyone I talked to was courteous and professional.

The team was on time to complete the job and did a great job replacing the sod that was cut. I would rate this job five stars, but as you can see in the photo, a strip of grass was killed in the process. Before the job was completed, I was assured that I would not be able to tell they were there, but it didn't seem to be the case.

We have used Winesett a couple times now, as well as for annual irrigation maintenance and spring clean-ups. They are always extremely courteous and the crews are hard working throughout the day. My wife, who is home while they work, always comments on how nice they are while they are at the house.

Great customer service helping me with a backflow prevention device annual test. This does not appear to be Winesett's area of expertise but they made the extra effort to put me down the right path with someone who handles this regularly.

I purchased eight English boxwoods in April. I noticed when I purchased them that a couple had yellow spots. I mentioned it and was told I had a year's warranty. I knew they would take care of me if I had a problem.
