I bought a house with Sting alarm system. Basically, I can't do nothing with it because you have to use their monthly service in order for the system to work. They charge $59.99 a month and they make you sign 3 years contract. I have no desire to pay so much money ($59.99 a month) and have no desire to commit for 3 years - I can easily install Ring equipment and pay ONLY $10/$20 a month with no commitment at all.

I have no clue how people keep paying Sting/ADT etc. so much money when there's a better alternative. I wouldn't recommend these companies (Sting/ADT) - you simply pay more and have to commit, and you get nothing extra in return. I also don't like their business practices as they make you sign 3 years deal - I wonder why? I hope these businesses will bankrupt or change their business model because I don't think they have a place in 2022+.

Isaac and Steven did a great job setting ups the alarm and positioning all the cameras, sensors and screen to my liking. Really wanted to keep it local and this is the team. John in Sales was also really good and straightforward.

*UPDATE - After speaking directly with the owner Jon, he arranged for his team to figure out what the issues were with the cameras and we now have a fully functioning security system. I am so relieved! It was a bit of a complicated process but they were able figure it out. Thank you Jon, Todd, Mike, Devon & Adam for getting us up and running and making it right.

Excellent service! We had a small issue that was causing false alarms, and Sting set up a service call for the next day. Our Field rep Billy kept us informed on his arrival time and was extremely prompt. Billy knew exactly what our issue was and fixed it quickly. We really enjoyed our visit with Billy- he is extremely knowlegable, and a pleasure to chat with. We highly recommend Sting!

Sting has done a great deal to improve their service since my previous review. No longer 9-5, which was primary complaint at the time. Two advantages to Sting over their competitors like ADT or Cox. First, they don't oversell. When they make recommendation, it's with a view to long-term customer retention. For example, Billy was just here for installation of two cameras. Ended up doing just one.

We talked about reasons, and pros and cons of what I wanted. Ended up going with a single camera, with option to upgrade further in future. Second, no matter what you add - cameras, sensors, smart thermostats - everything is controlled by single app, so no need to toggle between apps when traveling. And, even better, no matter what you add, your monthly monitoring fee stays flat and doesn't increase. Their turnaround time when you've got issues is amazing too.

Billy walked into my home recently to address my challenges with our family security system. Immediately, Billy diagnosed the situation and asked me to contact my Internet provider. He navigated the discussion and helped identify that the challenges were with my Internet company. He offered to review the entire security system and immediately added value by offering multiple suggestions to better protect my home and family.

Clearly during the discussion, Billy was laser focused on understanding any pain points. He left and I am confident that my home is more secure and I have a better understanding how to use my system more efficiently. My recent experience with Sting Alarm was to have two cameras installed on my property in the front and rear of the house. The tech, Billy was punctual, called ahead to inform me he was en route which was extremely helpful. Billy was very pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable of the installation and configuration of the cameras, very neat with the installation of the wiring and provided advice on how to customize settings further if I so choose. It was a very pleasant experience.

I called Sting because of an issue with my doorbell. Billy arrived on time, he was very polite and professional. He quickly got to work diagnosing the potential problem. After several minutes he found the issue and realized he would need to replace the doorbell. He explained what he was doing and why, which is thoughtful as most technicians just try to get in and get out asap.

He even helped me resolve a few questions I had about the alarm.com app. If you are every thinking about getting a security system, I highly recommend Sting as their products and service are second to none!

Billy was very very patient with us :- We had a few issues with our system and he made sure everything was working well before he left. He explained why we had the issues and what he did to fixed them. He really took the time to answer all our questions. Made us feel like an important customer and not just a number. We recommend sting for sure and if you are lucky enough to have Billy you won't regret your choice!

Quick and efficient upgrade to 5G for the radio that sends alarms from my house to the central monitoring station. Inexpensive and quick, less than an hour to get it done. Not 5 stars because the old system was fine and stuff like this should not require the latest and greatest in telephone technology. But it does so an upgrade was necessary.

Billy was so informative, patient, kind and helpful. He took the time to go around and help me identify/label the location of each device in the office. And located/removed a panel, that was above our ceiling tile, making a continuous beeping sound that has been unidentifiable for the past 3 years that we have been at this location. He's absolutely amazing and a phenomenal asset to Sting. I look forward to working with him in the future.

On Monday, October 25th, Steve Alvarado arrived to my condo after notifying me of his arrival time. (He was early in the 4 hour window! Perfect!) He introduced himself and was very polite and assessed my entire security system. He explained everything that he was looking at and was courteous and professional. After his diagnostics, he determined what the issue was and not only corrected that station but corrected the adjoining loop station that responds the same way.

I was impressed with his knowledge and his timeliness. I feel confident enough that Steven has convinced me to stay with the company. I had some equipment that was seemingly faulty but it looks like due to the sun, heat and austere conditions. I was about to leave and he convinced me to stay. Thank you Sting for employing an outstanding employee.

The only good thing about this company is the Tech named Rick. He has done everything he could to make this work but their equipment NEVER works and you can't view the cameras when you need them. People will ring my doorbell and nothing records. Their contract is shady as hell. I patiently waited out my 3 yr contract but because I didn't give a 30 day notice they automatically renued my contract for another year. DO NOT use this company if you need peace of mind that your house will be safe.

Sting Alarm put in an amazing camera system in our house. The platform is super easy to use and the tech was absolutely amazing! He spent quality time ensuring that we understood how the system worked and answered all her questions. He was professional and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend Sting Alarm for anyone looking to install a hardwire camera system at a super reasonable rate!

Stay away! horrible people! horrible service! you might as well hire a mob man! First they need to stop having their own people open multiple Yelp accounts just to post fake "good reviews" for their own company. That alone shows their lack of ethics and lack of integrity. the owner john needs to burn this business down and never get in business dealing with people! mark and sales team are sleazy and arrogant!

If John wants to stay in business he definitely needs to fire mark walker for being and arrogant, cocky son of b#%^* who doesn't know how to interact with people. just go somewhere else!

This company deserves 10 stars. Everyone from start to finish was exceptional. Their equipment is first rate. Their cameras are right out of any current movie. You can immediately view the cameras live either individually or all on one page, no lag time. Both the cameras and the doorbell load super-fast, unlike the products from a well-known doorbell company or a three letter alarm company.

Our technician, Chris, was the most knowledgeable person I have ever dealt with and he was incredibly patient. He also corrected mistakes from another service-related company which improved the speed and accuracy of my cameras. He was not in a hurry to install and leave. He made sure everything was perfect and that we understood how it all worked. I wished everyone and every company I interacted with operated with such integrity and pride of workmanship as Sting Alarm.

I have lived in my gated community since its origination 14 years ago. The original contracted company changed twice, the last company being Sting Alarm. Two years ago the company changed its billing software which resulted in cross over billing issues; always claiming that there was a month due. While I found that the company's account manger was difficult to deal with, the company's owner went above and beyond to resolve my concerns. I am happy to have my home managed by Sting alarm. The fact that the ownership cares about customer service and loyalty goes a long way with me.

Stay away from this company. The service is horrible. I signed an initial 3-year contract on November 4, 2020, after talking with John Laughlin and agreeing to a monthly service fee of $54.00 monthly. When I received my first bill it was $64.95. I called and was told that the billing was correct and it was the amount I was quoted, which is false because I have the quote in writing.

I asked by phone and email for a copy of the contract I signed through DocuSign and was never provided one. The installation dragged on and was not completed until after I received my first bill. I had to call and remind them to get them to come out and finish the sensors for my garage doors. When I received Laughlin's sales pitch he told me that having a monitored system was better because their staff would come right out and fix any system problems, and respond to an alarm after confirmation that it was not accidental.

My panel (under warranty) and radio signal stopped working on Thursday, 6-3-2021. After multiple phone calls to troubleshoot the problem with both Jamie and Rick, Jamie told me she could not have a service person out until Monday between 8 and 10. I phoned their office at 11:45 because they had not shown up. The person that took my call said Jamie had scheduled me for the 14th as that was the first available! Eleven days response time after a service request from a security monitoring service is outrageous. At this point, I am looking for a way to cancel this contract legally.

I Recently had an issue with my doorbell camera and the service guy (Aaron) was punctual, friendly and extremely helpful, my issue was resolved in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend Sting alarm to anyone looking for reliable affordable alarm service these guys are the best!

Called multiple times a week for customer service about an alarm and cameras that never worked. I never signed a contract and they are forcing me to stay in contract although they bought the contract I was in years ago and never re-signed from the prior company. These guys are snakes and assholes over the phone and will do whatever to take your money and not honor their service.

Any alarm service is better than them. Do some research and STAY AWAY FROM STING! This comment is mainly about Marc Walker who was a complete asshole on the phone. Jon P if you want to call me 702-498-2222 -TERRIBLE SERVICE -TERRIBLE EQUIPMENT -don't waste your time or money on them

I'm in a new build and was bombarded by security alarm companies as I was moving in - some literally followed me into the house as I was carrying boxes. They could have at least grabbed a box! Sting was not at all salesy but still very confident in their service. I liked them right away. The install was easy and the customer service is great. I've used the other alarm companies in the past and love that Sting is a local run business and that you get local customer service, not someone in another state with an employee ID you need to write down. Highly recommend!

These people don't deserve any stars. We were long time Sting clients. We have a medical practice. In August 2019, we suffered a break-in; miscreants seeking drugs. Sting did not notify us or the police. Subsequently, we determined there had been a malfunction with the phone line. When an alarm company monitors your property they can always see the alarm is communicating with them.

The logs will establish Sting had knowledge the system was not communicating but failed to advise us. We requested a repair technician. We waited weeks for Sting to provide a technician, and, had to call repeatedly to "remind" Sting of the need; meanwhile we had no alarm protection. We had to install a secondary camera system. There were two problems with the system; 1) the failure to communicate and 2) a zone showed an open.

In September 2019, Sting's technician visited our office and claimed to have found the problem but never tested it properly. At day's end when the system was armed we determined the system was still not communicating. This brought on the second trip by Sting's technicians. During that trip a zone that worked perfectly before Sting's technicians arrived showed a fault after they worked on the panel.

They rewired the RJ31X communicator and transferred the alarm telephone connection to our fax line claiming that was where it should be. Their assessment of the inoperable zone was the panel was antiquated and needed to be replaced. They "completed" their work and left us with that zone inoperable, meaning any miscreant could access the building. We subsequently discovered Sting's technicians had disabled our fax line; thus any pharmacy seeking a patient refill could not receive a fax response. Additionally, their efforts disabled another telephone line. Sting's qualified techs disabled two (2) phone lines, created another default in the panel and left our building with the alarm in that condition.

This is a medical practice with drugs on site. We subsequently brought in a local alarm company. That technician discovered Sting's people had broken wires to two zones and improperly wired the communicator. We cancelled our service with them and requested reimbursement for the losses they caused. Instead of making things right they continue to send threatening letters and claim our contract is 'on hold'. Sting couldn't properly monitor the alarm and have been unable to work out we're no longer a customer.

Sting Alarm purchased my prior alarm company. I was very satisfied with the prior company but Sting has been exceptional in all respects. In fact, I seldom write reviews but they have been so great I want to share my experience. Some of the greatness stems from customer service, willingness to take the time to walk me through questions on how to do things with the system, and upgrading the system at no extra charge. I've been with them for years and they have consistently proven it was a wise choice to stay with them. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the system performs as promised. Our home is well protected and we know there are great people keeping us protected.

Salesman Ron honestly made us feel so uncomfortable. We signed a contract just to get him to leave. Turns out he tricked us into a 5 year contract though by simply asking us if we thought we would be in the same house for the next 5 years. And considering we had just purchased a new construction condo (which Ron the salesman knew since we were getting some new community bonus deal or something) and this visit from Sting Alarm was within the first 48 hours of us receiving our keys yes we said we planned to be in the house for 5 years and security was important to us. We feel totally manipulated.

I am totally appalled. Why would you lie and take my money for 2 years straight? Here's what they said "We don't know how you had service in that house. It was a rental, we will not put it on the new house it's a rental. We need a new 3 year contract. Oh and you owe us for early termination because we won't let you change service location under original 36 mo contract." Then your going to steal $50 out of my account when I'm not even at the old house and you have left me and my family vulnerable without an alarm. I cannot believe the audacity of this sales and retention manager Mark. I used to recommend this company, I need this rectified ASAP.

We purchased our home with an existing alarm system that we couldn't use since the previous owner had left no instructions. I called around for days to find a company that could use and reprogram the existing system. Sting came to the rescue, inspected the home, added some units for little cost (e.g. an outdoor video camera). The sales process was very efficient although I had tons of questions but Todd Villazante was very patient and answered them all in a very timely fashion. The installation was great and Devin guided me through the entire, now upgraded system. I'd highly recommend Sting Alarm.

We've had a great experience with Sting over the last year-and-a-half that we've been using them! Friendly sales people signed us up, clean & prompt technicians installed our equipment, and happy people answer their phones. They offer all the services that everyone else does, motion sensors, glass break, cameras, smart phone operation, etc.

We used a different company at our old house, got broken into, and there was only one security guard on call that night and he was across town. Long story short, LVPD arrived at our house before them! That's insane. Hence why we chose to go a different route. We have our bright yellow Sting sign in the yard, their stickers on our windows, and I feel comforted by the promptness they have promised us. A phone call is made to us within seconds of any false alarms we've had. So far, so good!

We order service 3 years ago and paid in advance, the equipment didn't work, we called several times and didn't want to refund our money, not only didn't get a refund but they're asking money beyond the contract Don't use!

Had Sting install cameras for our office. Was told cameras were more than enough to see a cars license plate. After company vehicles were vandalized this was not the case. We have had no attempt to rectify the problem other than paying a ridiculous equipment upgrade fee.
