I am very familiar with Benjamin Plumbing. I have used Benjamin Plumbing several times in the past. I have used them to remodel a bathroom and have a bathtub installed. I have used them to add additional plumbing pipes to raise the height of a shower. I have used them to install a goose neck kitchen sink faucet. My last experience was horrendous and because of it I will never use them again.
I have always known Benjamin Plumbing to be more expensive than most plumbers, but the quality of work was always good. I called Benjamin Plumbing about a month ago to have them fix 2 leaking shower heads. The Dispatcher scheduled the appointment and the plumber arrived on-time. The plumber takes a look at the model of the shower head and realizes right away he doesn't have those parts.
He says they will order them and re-schedule. I told them don't worry about rescheduling because I will call someone else. Approximately a month goes by, and I finally get a voicemail from Benjamin Plumbing saying the parts are in. I didn't bother calling back because the leak had been fixed. Approximately 2 weeks later I received an invoice through email from Lisa at Benjamin Plumbing for 30minutes of labor totaling $116.
This wasn't an invoice for a call out fee, it said labor. Well, there was no labor performed because the plumber didn't have the parts. I replied to the email asking why I was being billed and I got no response. 2 weeks later I got another email from Tammy at Benjamin Plumbing saying I haven't paid my bill. I replied to Tammy asking why I was being billed for labor when there was no labor, why they were trying to nickel and dime a returning customer, and why the dispatcher didn't ask me what the model of my shower head was from the beginning so they could verify if they had the parts.
It's been about 3 weeks and I still haven't gotten a response from Lisa or Tammy. Highly unprofessional! I decided to just pay the bill and advise people to never use them again. I didn't want to waste a vacation day taking them to small claims court over $116. Which I am sure is what they were counting on. No one wants to be nickeled and dimed. No one wants to deal with anyone unprofessional.
No one wants to deal with a lack of communication from a company. Save yourself the headache and some money. Go with someone cheaper and more professional. It's not hard to find cheaper because Benjamin Plumbing is one of the most expensive. Again, I have used Benjamin Plumbing several times and I will never use them again. I hope this review helps anyone considering if they should go with Benjamin Plumbing. I would advise against it!

Benjamin Plumbing is a family run business that has done work for my mothers house and mine. Sampson Benjamin has replaced a water heater for my mother and a toilet. He replaced a toilet and two outside faucets at my house. He is a honest and respectful and did a great job. His prices are reasonable and he is very friendly. I would highly recommend his business.

Bengimin Plumbing installed my water heater and let me know about a problem with my drip pan that was not draining. I called to make an appointment to get it fixed and sent photos of the problem. They didn't call me back and after several days I called them again. Both times I talked to the receptionist and both times I never heard back from them. I then called Pertzborn plumbing who were responsive and gave me a quote. They are doing the repair work for me.

I called Benjamin Plumbing for a leaking toilet. The first service call didn't fix it. After that they found that the tank was cracked. They were very helpful working with me to get everything right and a new toilet installed. The repair person I worked with was Mike. He was great! Always professional, efficient, helpful and easy to talk with. He even tipped me off that Madison Water Utility will pay $100 for replacing an old toilet with a new efficient one. I definitely recommend Benjamin Plumbing!

Their billing practices are either shady or lazy, period. I called them for a disposal replacement. They got me an appointment about 3 business days out. The plumber took about 15 minutes to arrive at my house after telling me he was on the way, and spent about 15 minutes in my house. The disposal he installed was $100, available from a dozen online retailers.
All fine so far, but when I received the bill for their service, it was $300.00 exactly. That seems a bit excessive for 30 minutes of travel and work, even if we assume that's rounded up to 1 hour, but whatever. The thing that's NOT fine is the bill they sent is not itemized whatsoever. It simply says "disposer installed" with a charge of $300.00 with 0 sales tax applied.
Without an itemized breakdown, I have no way of knowing if they're gouging the resale of the disposal, overcharging for labor, skimming sales tax, or something else. All in all it's not a lot of money and not a huge deal, I expected it to cost $200-250 anyways. It's the principle behind it that leaves me with zero trust in them - I'd never consider using them for a larger, more expensive job. Be better about your billing practices.

I have to say that these folks are fantastic. My fiancee and I just moved into our new house to discover our water heater was not working properly. Benjamin Plumbing's number was on the side of the unit, and from the moment we got in contact until the issue was resolved, they were professional, genuine, prompt and expert. It took a day to narrow in on the problem, but they sent over personnel quickly and diagnosed the issue as fast as they could. All individuals we worked with had great attitudes, were professional, and worked with us to resolve our issue. I STRONGLY recommend working with these folks.

Highly recommend! I returned home 10:30 pm from a business trip. no hot water and a broken water heater leaking on the basement floor. The gentleman on the phone was very kind and got me an appointment right away. Dave and Trevor arrived, installed my new heater, lined all the walkways carefully with drop cloths and swept the area after working. It was cleaner than when they arrived. Also, I asked about a slow leak in a pipe, and they completely replaced the valve and section of pipe for me.
Then they went above and beyond by noticing a drip from my furnace. saw that a drain tube was clogged and cleaned it for me! They likely saved me a costly repair, and told me what to watch for in the future. They also took the time to show me how to shut off the water to my outside spigots. I was so overwhelmed by their kindness and patience that I almost hugged them! I had a small question about the invoice and a friendly young lady helped me immediately. It's a relief to know they're just a phone call away.

I can't say enough about Rick! In addition to installing my new water softener, he had to repair old plumbing, fix a broken valve, and clean out a plugged up floor drain. It took him much longer than a normal installation, but he didn't charge me any extra. I am very happy with my new water softener.

Fraudulent Charges I purchased a water heater, placed it next to the old one and was quoted $250 to simply disconnect the old one and hook up the new one. I took off work to be there for the install--they cancelled on me and re-scheduled for a day I couldn't be there. They installed the new one and forced my wife to pay $1000 before they left. In that $1000 charge was 40 feet of PVC (about 8 feet were used).
They charged an additional 1hr of labor beyond the time they were there. They marked up parts used by 200% of the cost at the hardware store. They charged "delivery" for a water heater I had on site. They also charged $200 for a flexible gas pipe when they could have use a standard pipe for a fraction of the cost. When I contacted management they said they would knock about $50 off the price. I have used Benjamin Plumbing in the past but will no longer do so due to their crooked billing practices.

I just had another great experience with Benjamin Plumbing. Plumbers are very hard to find. I appreciate those that are professional in their conduct. This company does a great job. They responded to my online request within a few days and had someone out to do the work very promptly. The plumber they sent was knowledgeable, he pointed out how he could save me money and did a great job. They have a reputation for being a little high priced, but in my opinion they are worth every penny! Thanks for great service!

Paul saved our tail last night during the polar vortex. Before he made it to the house, he continued to check in and give updates on where he was and how long it would be until he made it- very appreciated! He was kind and efficient, unfreezing a pipe with -30 temperatures! Clearly it was one of his busiest nights (it was after hours), but he did not leave until everything was back in control. Thank you Benjamin plumbing! Enjoying hot showers again in the sub-zero temperatures!

Was hoping to use these guys after all the good reviews. But upon making my appt. and having my husband take off work for the afternoon to be there between the agreed upon time frame.they called me and said they would have to reschedule after not hearing back from me. Unfortunately, as a teacher I can't have my cell phone attached to me at all. times.
So my husband wasted a day off for nothing. They really should call the night before to REMIND people of the appt and then tell them they won't send someone over for that SCHEDULED appt until they hear back via telephone. I would've been more aware of checking my phone when I didn't have kids in my class or given them my husband's cell number.

I had Benjamin Plumbing come to my home to repair a broken drain pipe. I was very pleased with the work that was done. The gentleman was very kind and professional. I originally had some concerns about the invoice I was given, but after speaking with Benjamin Plumbing afterwards, they addressed the situation again in a very polite and professional manner. I will be sure to recommend this company to anyone in need of their services.

Always the best service and their parts folks are very helpful. went out their way to make sure I had the correct part and new how to install it correctly. We've used them for a number of projects and they've been fast, efficient and much better than the plumbers who did the original work in our house when we built it.

Benjamin Plumbing installed our Salon shampoo units. I felt completely at ease leaving their professionals alone in our space to complete the installment, which normally I like to keep an eye on contractors. They did a fantastic job and we've never had plumbing issues. They even made a complimentary trip over to help figure out a solution for connecting our portable dish washer to our utility sink. We will definitely rehire Benjamin Plumbing again in the future!
