Spencer Air Conditioning and Heating was established in 1960 by Harry Spencer. Mr. Spencer moved to Irving in 1947 after serving in WW II as an Army Airman. While co-piloting a B-17 bomber to England, Mr. Spencer and his crew crash landed on the Greenland ice cap. He miraculously survived 89 days before being rescued.
He received the Legion of Merit in 1943. The Legion of Merit is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed on a member of the armed services for non-combat heroism. Upon his arrival in Irving Mr. Spencer joined his brother in-law Louis Blaylock as a co-owner of Trinity hardware. Mr. Spencer was very involved in the Irving community, including two terms on the Irving City Council followed by two terms on the Irving School Board.

It's 100 degrees outside and of course our A/C stops working on a Friday 4pm. Our regular service provider couldn't send someone til next week, so I called Spencer's and they sent a repairman within an hour who was very polite and quick to diagnose the problem. Really appreciate the prompt service at what I know is a very busy time for them.

I was visiting my parents when my wife and I were realizing that the house was getting pretty warm. Soon found out that the AC wasn't working. It was pushing air but wasn't getting cold air. I called Spencer's based off good reviews and they rang true. I called and right away they added us to the emergency help list and got a technician out as soon as possible.
From me calling and the tech coming out was less than 2 hours. He came out and fixed my parent's AC unit promptly. He had the parts on hand and now have AC. The tech, David, was prompt Andy parents couldn't be happier. Thank you

This is only the 2nd review I've ever written, but I felt compelled to take the time. I first started using Spencer to service my old HVAC unit a couple of years ago. Last year, my system needed replacing, and I got several quotes. Justin from Spencer came out, spent lots of time with me and explained WHY I needed what he suggested that I needed. And his quote was incredibly reasonable compared to several others.
I trust this company which is the highest honor I can bestow to a service type company. As a consumer, I want things fixed that need fixing and I know that Spencer will take care of me.

If you are considering replacement for your old HVAC system, look no further. Spencer just installed Carrier Infinity units (2) in our home. I knew our old units were noisy and inefficient but didn't realize how bad they truly were. The new ones are so quiet you have to check to see if they are running. The house felt more comfortable almost immediately. Justin explained all the options in great detail pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of all the options.
But I never felt as though he was trying to upsell us. Joel and installation crew were fantastic. They were courteous, professional, and competent. They covered the floor and stairs, wore masks, and cleaned up very thoroughly. The attic is cleaner that it was when they arrived. I've never dealt with a better crew for any home maintenance or repair service. There's a reason this company has been in business for so long. They do it right!

Spencer reacted quick and sent Raul same Day i called on a Saturday although I said it could wait for next business day. Raul was very professional, located and fixed the problem (motor flywheel) of our furnace in 20 minutes. For the issue we had I thought it was a bit pricey but I can't complain about the overall service

Just leaving this review to share my experience. Jeremy was the tech who came out. Jeremy was wonderful. Kind, professional. Unfortunately the pricing system from the top not so much. Over the phone was told it was 150$ to have someone come out. Fine. Agree to that on short notice especially in a winter storm. Jeremy came. Nothing wrong he just noticed the filters needed to be changed which we changed 59$ a piece for 2.
At closing I was given a cost of over 520$$$. Breakdown was 150+ (59x2) and a surprise 250$ charge for them to come out and inspect. Ultimately a surprise 250 I was not aware of. We were able to argue 100$ off of this but still a significant charge. Great technician, poor front end communication. Would not use them again, and if you choose to make sure the disclose all pricing up front.

I got quoted and charged an extreme amount from another company so I started looking online for other companies and Spencer is the first one that I called. The lady I spoke to was so nice and patient with me and then a few minutes later, I get a call from Justin saying he is on his way to take a look at my system! WOW right? He was great and super easy to talk to and understand. Fast forward, the job got done within a few days and I havent had a problem since! Highly Recommend! Thanks, yall!

We recently used Spencer Air Conditioning & Heating to resolve an on-going issue with our upstairs AC distribution amongst the rooms. We have battled this issue for years and it was not resolved even with the replacement of our AC unit (different company). He enlisted others to troubleshoot and came up with a damper solution that made a significant difference in our household. We were very, very pleased with the work and the cost of the service call and his attitude. The support of the company in the scheduling process was also very good. They are definitely our "go-to" provider now for these services and I highly recommend!

Spencer was recommended by a general contractor that I have used and trust. They responded promptly. They charged a reasonable price and were very professional. Ray did several tests to identify the issue causing the A/C unit failure. Unfortunately all the freon escaped and the damage was in the service line inside the wall which will require another visit to repair. Ray did everything he could to see if there was a way to get it working again even temporarily. We reviewed some options he presented and decided to wait till the lines could be replaced. I appreciated his concern for our comfort.

Justin was extremely helpful and honest about every part of the business that he does. He answered all my hard questions about the systems and pricing options without pressuring me to choose one I didn't need or want. I was also over quoted by another company and he gave me a reasonable estimate the first time which everyone can appreciate. He came out as a second opinion to my first quote and gave me great perspective about getting a new unit. I recommend working with Justin and Spencer Air.

I want to thank your technician for the excellent job he did. My condenser fan motor started making horrible noises and Spencer showed up neatly dressed, very pleasant, and very knowledgeable.
