White Heating & Air Conditioning

We contracted with White to replace our heating and A/C and clean our vents. Their pricing was very competitive. Two techs arrived on time on installation day. They were conscientious about floor protection during the installation installing drop cloths. I had installed a humidifier a couple years ago and the installer cleaned up my installation on his own initiative adding extra clamps and doing other "tidying up" chores. I highly recommend this company for your future HVAC needs.

Normally I do not write negative reviews, but my experience with Whites has been that bad. My humidifier was not working properly (some steam, but not much) so I called Whites to send someone to troubleshoot it. The tech they sent out told me upfront, "I don't know much about these things". After spending about half an hour on the phone with Aprilaire, he told me that they said I needed to replace my humidistat.

Thank goodness I knew enough to know that my humidistat was working fine, otherwise I would may have gone down a rabbithole of unnecessary repairs. After the tech left I called Whites and politely let them know that I would not be paying for the humidifier service call because they sent over a tech who did not know anything about humidifiers. Then I called Air Controls (Which I recommend you do from the get-go); they sent a tech over who quickly diagnosed the problem (It needed 240V instead of the 120V we had plugged into it).

I upgraded the voltage and my humidifier works great! Back to Whites. I received a bill for the service call. I called them up and politely informed them again that I would not be paying the bill and why. The lady who I talked to was nice and said no problem they would get that taken care of. Next month I got another bill. I called again, and politely let them know I would not be paying and why. Again, "no problem".

When the third bill arrived, and I called for the last time, they made me talk to someone who, if I recall, was a customer service manager. He was belligerent and insisted I pay the bill, because it was for a service call, and they DID do a service call. No matter that the tech they sent knew nothing about humidifiers and recommended unnecessary work.

I was not so polite with this gentleman; at this point I was mad at the nonsense of the situation. Well, maybe I should have been nice to the customer service guy. Whites sent the bill for $98 (plus $4 interest LOL) to a collection agency. Here's the kicker: dealing with the agency was a better experience than dealing with Whites! They were competent, reasonable and helpful, which is everything that Whites is not.

I recommend you avoid using Whites if you possibly can. (Edit) Based on the response to this review, Whites wants to appear reasonable. They are not. If they were reasonable they would have apologized and canceled the bill when I first called. Instead they tried to push a second service call on me. For free? What a joke. Giving someone terrible, possibly fraudulent service (selling me hardware and work I don't need) and then expecting them to give you a second chance is unreasonable. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

So easy to work with! They did major work 10 years ago with a new heating an A/C system that runs great. Called them again for gas line and venting work-again outstanding service!

I contacted them when by furnace would not work on a Saturday. I was contacted in a 1/2 hour by the technician Ray and he walked me through the diagnostic process on the phone. White has been responsive, professional and thorough from our first interaction with them. They installed a propane fireplace insert for us and did a beautiful job. The day it was scheduled to be installed, we had 2 other contractors scheduled for the same day but for different services. White was the only one of the three to show up on time and get the job done.

White Heating is probably the best company in Billings, bar none. Their customer service is off the charts! Alex went out of his way to help me get my new fireplace (that they installed) up and working. Luke did an amazing job installing my new gas fireplace. All of their employees are very professional and helpful. You can't go wrong using White.

I highly recommend them. Every person we had contact with was friendly and very helpful. We love our new fireplace insert and the installers Luke and Christopher did an excellent job. And, our dogs loved them!

Absolutely love this company! The office staff is super nice and the technicians are over the top helpful and very nice! Alex spent extra time taking care of us and the new fireplace we had in our new home. It looks fantastic now and works perfectly. Excellent customer service. Alex spent 2 hours on the phone helping us when we couldn't get the pilot light to work on our propane stove that was purchased from White Heating. When we couldn't troubleshoot the problem by phone, Alex came to our house on his time off & fixed the pilot light for free. Thank you Alex.

Scheduled White HVAC to do check of 2 gas fireplaces prior to winter use. No problems found, cleaned glass, checked for gas leaks, and explained safe operation. Was here about 1 hr due to going back and forth to truck at least 4 times. Then proceeded to charge me $215 ($130 for "service call" and $85 for "miscellaneous repairs".) This is a bunch of crap. We will not be using White HVAC in the future.

Super thrilled with the service. I own a house in Lakeside, MT that is undergoing a remodel. I needed covers for the round ceiling vents in the basement. Stopped by on a whim to see what solutions they might have. They showed me the most up to date covers that slide in and attach to the pipe. Super easy to install and they look great. I really appreciate working with professionals that are willing to help and offer a solution.

Keep in mind they did not have to even offer up anything. I did not buy a furnace from them nor have they ever serviced the home. The covers are $12 each. They look beautiful.

Super fast service. The technician replaced a complicated boiler part in a few hours with no noticeable interruption and with limited explanation. I will use this company exclusively.

White has installed a furnace and a couple air conditioners in my rentals. They are always GREAT to work with. Everyone is professional and shows up when they say they will show up!

Wouldn't recommend this company. Had them install an expensive central AC unit in my house and the job they did was not only low quality, it was also dangerous! Most scary was when they re-installed the furnace after mounting the evaporator coil, they did not re-glue the intake or exhaust connections.

I was very impressed with their service. We had a vent installed for our bathroom fan. The technician was punctual, friendly, and professional. He got the job done quickly and then showed me what he had done and explained maintenance, etc.
