I purchased a high end Master Spa hot tub from Michelle, owner of Above and Beyond in February 2021. Service was good until I made a warranty claim about the spa cover which the photos I took clearly show was defective. Apparently the manufacturer put the foam insulation into the cover while it was still hot causing it to weld itself to the cover material, which made it impossible to flip the insulation over from time to time per the manufacturer's instruction in order to keep water from pooling on the cover.
I sent photos along with an explanation of the issue to Michelle, the owner of Above and Beyond, which she forwarded to Master Spas. Master Spas requested additional photos which I provided, in abundance. Since then, which has been over two months, I have heard nothing from Michelle or Master Spas. I have emailed Michelle and left numerous messages, as she never seems to be available when I call.
At this point it is clear that she is ghosting me and has no intention of doing the right thing. This is an example of how you don't really find out what kind of business you are dealing with until there is a significant issue, which replacing the hot tub cover qualifies as. Michelle, as owner of Above and Beyond, as well as Master Spas have demonstrated they are not good companies. I would never consider doing business with either again. Take heed, shop elsewhere.

Bought a hot tub from them with a cover and a lift for the cover. Within a year the cover was tearing and coming off of the lift. After months of calling and emailing I finally got them to send someone out who basically said "it looks ok". A few months after that the cover tore and came off the lift completely. After emailing and calling for a few weeks, their response was basically, "not our fault, can't help you." The hot tub is less than two years old.
I can't recommend buying a hot tub from them given their customer support after the purchase. Edit: The response from the owner is simply not true. I'm not sure if he has me confused with another disgruntled customer or what but there was no "high wind" damage.

I have been a faithful customer since 2006 and have had 2 pools. Purchased a liner from them a couple years ago. Installation was not done properly and had alot of creases. I believe liner is too small. Have talked to Vince a few times who refuse to come fix.even after one of the workers said the guy they had come out for the job was new and didn't know what he was doing.the liner in now falling down.very disappointed and they have lost another loyal customer and I will no longer be referring them.

New to the pool world this year. We had ours installed late June. Communication was good for scheduling. Pool school was good. (I'm sure I looked like deer in head lights) I went back to test levels, Devon got me hooked up with what I needed. I'm actually headed there this week, I'm having chemical level issues. User error im sure, still learning the ropes. But I feel these guys don't try to over sell and are nice to walk me through the process. Not close to my house at all, but worth the trip. Thanks guys!

They took $50 out of my parents account twice. My mom went back to the store and tried to resolve the problem but even after having them talk to her bank they are still denying they ran the transaction twice. After my parents being good customers for years and spending lots of money with them, they still are not willing to fix their problem. Petty and poor service. They will no longer being using them and will never recommend them to anyone. Maybe they should do the right thing.

Poor poor service paid for liner up front took many calls and excuses just to get it installed 2 months later did a rush job left a mess with wrinkles in the bottom of the pool and what seemed like rocks under the liner pool light no longer worked called and complained they sent a guy out he fixed the light but nothing else now I keep calling and just get run around!

Spent $6000 total for pool within 2 months you could feel the pool structure thru the bottom liner it settled that much they didn't put enough sand down. They promised come out to fix. Never did. Called again before next pool season promised to come never did. Now we have to pay someone or do ourselves before we can use this year cause we are afraid the liner will tear. Not eve 3 yrs old. Do not go there!

I blew my salt water generator system it was totally my fault water damage electrical damage anyway I talked to Michelle and told her what happened I thought she would say the company policy is you have to pay full retail price NO she saw how distress I was and took like 100 off the price I really appreciate the empathy she showed I did buy the pool from her and lots of other stuff! If you are good to them they will be good to you.

**Note: Yelp says I am from Brentwood, TN--I am from Kansas City.** We switched from a national chain who had teenagers working behind their counter that clearly just went to a training class or two and always tried to sell us more and more chemicals and never solved our issues. After spending literally $500 in products we visited Above and Beyond.
They tested our water, recommended a product ($20) and it didn't solve our issue. Next visit to the store Michelle GAVE us a product, with the stipulation that we take pics of the before/after to show how well the product works.who does that? We ultimately didn't need the product and returned it to her. Turns out we just didn't wait long enough for her first recommendation to work.
They have installed a pool liner, no it didn't happen when they said it would, and there wasn't great communication regarding the delays, but much of this was weather related and they cannot control the weather. It was also spring, their busiest time of the year. Did I pick up the phone and call them regarding the delays? No. Yes, it gets busy at times, especially in the spring, yes if they are working with you on a big issue and there is someone with a purchase, they may need to walk away from you to ring someone up, or answer a question.
Someone said they aren't kid friendly. I am sure they just don't want your little angel crawling all over their displays and running amuck and getting hurt in their store. Here is the bottom line-They know pools, they have experience with pools, they have "done" pools for years and it shows. It's not some kid with a part time job who doesn't own a pool and has never maintained a pool. It's a family owned business people, support your LOCALLY owned businesses!

By the way, their store is 15 minutes farther than our local chain store, in an area of town we don't have other business in, so yes, it is out of our way, but totally worth the drive and our time when they solve the issue on the first try and without upselling you on chemicals you do not need.

Went in to purchase a in ground liner, talked to Michelle who we have been buying equipment and chemicals from for 16 years. Michelle is super nice gave us there price we gave them the requested deposit (price of the liner). Vince called and said he needed $400.00 more and that Michelle miss quoted the price. We found this hard to believe as we spent 45 minutes discussing the type and thickness of the liner we wanted.
I would not recommend there store on the way Vince handled the situation, i believe he was trying to get extra money out of us. We even offered to split the diffrence as we had another bid of $3400.00 which they originally beat by $200.00.

Excellent customer service on every level. Friendly & knowledgeable even the delivery was amazing.! They had to Crane are Swim Spa over our three story house and landed it on the pad without doing any damage to anything. the owners of the store were there the entire time overseeing the installation and making sure we were happy with our product. I would highly recommend above and beyond to anyone looking for pool Spa or hot tub. You will be extremely happy you shopped there!

When we first went to this business. The owner Vince was very nice. We ordered a in ground pool liner. We put a big portion as down payment. Well it's been over a month. They don't call you. They lied about the timing. They are never available when you call. Horrible service and they still have our money! Nobody knows a thing when you call the store!

Great location, knowledgeable staff, good prices and selection. We worked with the crew on a pool installation several years ago and it was a seamless and smooth process, everything worked out great. I've now evolved from a pool owning newbie to a pool owner, so I still need advice and support and these folk are always helpful. They can get busy, but the staff has always been good to me, they get me set up with the right chemistry and I'm quickly back to floating with a cool one.

I had a plastic 1/4 drain plug that started leaking profusely when the pump was running on my auto-chlorinator. Looked online and could purchase for $5 including shipping, but 4 days out. Above and Beyond saw me coming, knowing that they were the only place open to get one and charged $10 for a used one. Not the first time I have had issues with them. Wounldn't return if they were the only pool place within 100 miles. It's a crying shame businesses treat customers with such disregard.

The owner is real nice, if you can get her. She's the only one that knows anything about hot tubs, so getting assistance is limited. I had to get help 3 times and each time took multiple calls/emails. The last time she never contacted me back. The plug to let out the water doesn't work. I let her know. Nothing. There is a strip that is damaged, purely cosmetic, she got me a new one, but the other one is glued on. Told her about it. Nothing.
I got a good deal because I bought it during the summer, but it's like buying a new car with missing hub caps. I won't even go back for chemicals and will order them on Amazon, though I like to support local. I just can't support her store anymore

They have been helpful with questions had our pool put in last July with a ton of wrinkles contacted Michelle Jason came back out this season to help with the wrinkles by stretching the liner there is still wrinkles but it is better they told us that was normal but when we bought the pool it was a guaranteed wrinkle free pool.

The owners are the employees. They want to sell you what you need. They are my first, and usually last place I need to go to get my pool going for the season. Now let me be clear, I own an Intex "bag pool" that is 16x48 which has provided three years of fun in the sun. I started out at a national pool retailer but ended up here because of the friendly service and the desire they have to sell me the right product.
I drive out of my way to support this local company. They have competitive pricing with the national retailer, and the selection is better than the "mart-gets." They have never attempted to up-sell me. They are consistent in service. They serve you as a first-in, first served business due to the limited staffing. However I have seen them stop serving somebody to help a 'cash and carry' customer when they are involved with a pool purchase due to all the paperwork involved.
Just one word of advice, they are not a kid friendly company which is odd considering the primary product sold is for pools. I guess that they expect you to keep your kids locked in an attic while you get your pool supplies.
