Bill's Landscaping Every spring we visit our properties to clean up any sticks, leaves, or debris left over from the previous winter and fall. Dead grass called "thatch" is removed to prevent suffocation and promote growth of the turf. Heavy stick areas are raked by hand to ensure a thorough cleanup of that area. To ensure removal of leaves in hard to reach corners we use back-pack blowers to blow the leaves onto the turf.

From there, our mowers use heavy duty collection systems to collect all thatch, leaves, and debris that are later disposed of. Sand left from the winter is very unhealthy for new turf growth, and it is also unappealing.

Brush Cutting
Report
Once a year it is good to cut down all the unwanted overgrowth and brush growing on the borders of your property. It helps keep unwanted plant and animal life where it belongs; in the woods and not in your backyard. This also gives you the option of planting grass and ornamental shrubs where all the brush used to be.
Weed Control
Report
Weeds by definition are any undesired, uncultivated, or harmful kind of plant-life. Weeds and vines are a constant nuisance in ornamental shrub beds. To ensure that shrubs are able to absorb appropriate amounts of nutrients and water, potential suffocating vines must be removed by hand. Unsightly weeds will sprout in pavement cracks and curb lines.
Line Trimming
Report
All turf that the mowers cannot maintain is evened out using line trimmers to replace the same cutting height. Throughout the mowing season some line trimming heights may vary. Therefore our employees spot trim where needed to maintain an even height with the mowers.
Turf Maintenance
Report
Upon arrival at a work site, once a week during the mowing season, lawn mowers are set at a desired deck height to promote future health and growth of the turf. If the grass is thick upon arrival and does not meet our expectations after the first cut, we then do what we call a double cut. Double cutting consists of going over the cut grass once again in the opposite direction.
Mulch
Report
We also offer mulching services. Springtime is the best time to freshen up existing mulch, or for a new ornamental bed installation. All mulch is spread using a pitchfork and wheel barrel. This approach leaves a smoother, hands-on, end result.

I hired Bills for a few years for Lawn care, and repeatedly was having to ask, ":Not so short on the grass and please sharpen their mower blades".I decided to also use them for one dead tree removal. I was told in July, "He can't come until September. Still I agreed to wait until September and waited, and waited. BUT: by Sept. 20th I called because I still I had no call back about the tree, so called again to ask "when".

They didn't call back, so I called yet again. When I called back again, they said."Maybe in December".? I gave up. I called another company, that did the tree for half of Bill's estimate, and that other company showed up the next day. After repeated asking the Bill's Lawn mower guys NOT TO "move lawn Benches", and "not to move the Glider." They moved both RIGHT INTO MY ROSE GARDEN, I finally fired Bills Mowers, after a guy showed up to see about the items moved, but didn't apologize, and didn't have a date for that tree still, or about the items his lawn guys had moved right IN TO my Rose raised beds garden. I gave up on both Bill's lawn and tree service. I don't know who owns the company, but he should talk to his people.

Needed my side and backyard leveled after an old retaining wall fell. They came within the week and leveled it and also did an amazing job removing 6 feet more back so I can get a truck in my backyard if needed. Didn't chew up the yard with equipment. All around a pleasant experience. Will be calling them back for landscaping and tree stuff. They are my go to people for now on.

Made an agreement to have a tree removed. Sent a crew with the wrong equipment. Said they'd reschedule. Never did Never responded to calls or a letter. Incompetent, uncommunicative. And put homeowners in jeopardy. Should not be licensed.

If you want a professional company with quality communication that values their customers, both current and potential, then STEER CLEAR of Bill's Landscaping. We hired this company in April to remove 10 trees and grind 6 stumps. Given a 6-8 week timeline, with a latest start date of the last week of June for the work to be completed, we thought we were put on a schedule.

The company did not communicate with us regarding when we would be scheduled. They often did not respond to phone calls or messages. And changed our date of tree removal 3 times, with the last being the final straw for us. It is July, and our trees still stand. We had other tree companies come out on those initial April days, and only went with Bill's because we thought we were picking a quality company whose trucks we had seen in our neighborhood, on our own street even.

When you read the other negative reviews on these pages, it is often thought that "oh that's just one bad experience" they're probably not always like that. And I thought the same, until of course these negative experiences became my own, and 2 months of my time was utterly disregarded and my value as a paying customer was negligible. Quite clearly they live up to their negative reviews. Do not allow your time wasted, or value to be pushed aside by Bill's Landscaping.

Wonderful work done from Bill's. Workers were diligent with being very careful taking down our extra tall pine tree that was close to wires and houses. Cleaned up well after the job also. Would definitely use them again! Service: Tree removal

Had a very large Ash Tree removed from our front lawn by Bills Landscaping and couldn't be happier with the end result. They arrived on time and finished on time. Matt and his team displayed great work ethic and met all our expectations at a competitive price. We highly recommend Bill's Landscaping for all your landscaping needs! Service: Tree removal

Recent Summer of 2020 storms dropped numerous sizable branches and trees around our historic farm house and property. Bill's Landscaping responded to our initial call for service within 24 hours and was on the property consulting on the sizable job within 48 hours. Very thorough walkthrough of the property by true tree professionals identified key risk areas we needed to focus on for clean up and making the property safe going forward.

From consultation, through negotiations then the actual work and clean up was nothing short of Exceptional. Bill's Landscaping consistently showed a team of true professionals who operate with safety first and has a total eye to customer communications and satisfactions. This was a big, risky and somewhat complex job that my family and I are very happy we had Bill's Landscaping Tree Division there to do the job.

They do a great job with my weekly lawn cut but with everything else they are very expensive and not worth it. I spent $1400 for mulching but they did a terrible job and had to be redone after I complained. I have also gotten estimates for bushes, fall/spring clean up and trimming and it was twice as much as some of the people we used. They also keep changing crew I constantly have to remind them of what they have to do. The lawn crew are usually very nice and courteous.

Exceptional service. Just days before the 4th of July Holiday Weekend, I had a tree fall in my driveway blocking in all my vehicles. I called Bill looking for help. Bill came out that evening and gave me a very reasonable quote to remove the tree. Within 18 hours, Bill's crew was on-site as promised. The crew was highly skilled, professional and even offered additional recommendations for tree maintenance. I was so impressed that I am looking to hire Bill's team to come back for additional "planned" tree cleanup and removal. Thanks Bill and crew!

Not what I expect from a landscaping company. Their quality of work is poor. In Oct 2015 they can out and added mulch and new plants to the property said also plants would be guaranteed for a Year! Well come spring April 17 I called because the plants/bush they planted did not bloom. It look like they were planted wrong or I don't know because none bloom in the spring.

And They didn't add enough mulch either. When call to let them know I finally get someone to come out view what I was talking about, then they ask for an additional charge and guess what still waiting over a month for the issue to be fix. On May 25, I call and no date is given just we will be there. Very disappointed in the company I entrusted to make my home beautiful and all they did was make it horrible.

Nothing like what was promised! Also paid over 2000. For this and it looks like I paid someone 20 bucks. Not what my money paid for. They get one star for taking away the old bushes and cleaning up after themselves.

HORRIBLE. My condo complex has been using them for years for snow removal and landscaping. I have had to call numerous times because they would remove the snow and leave a sheet of black ice for a parking lot - no salt or sand. NOTHING. This week, we got a few inches of snow and they did such a bad job, I slipped and fell on the ice. At 33 weeks pregnant, it landed me in the hospital for two days.

And the kicker? They didn't even call to get a statement like they were supposed to and didn't even apologize. I believe their contract is up and I hope the complex goes with somebody competent rather than the cheapest bidder. You get what you pay for and with Bill's Landscaping, you don't get much besides hazardous conditions. I was better off walking in the snow than on a sheet of black ice.
