Tony Skettle, the founder of Skettle Electric, Inc., began his electrical career with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. He worked for CEI from 1974 to 1985 in overhead and transmission lines. During this time, to supplement his income, Tony did electrical work for his family and friends.
He eventually realized that he enjoyed being an electrical contractor and in control of his own business more than his work at the Illuminating Company. In January of 1985, Tony left his job with the Illuminating Company and officially started Skettle Electric, Inc. As the business grew, Tony brought his wife, Kathy Skettle on board.

Most customers are unaware that the ownership & maintenance of the service mast with the meter base on the outside of their homes or places of business are their responsibility. They are also unaware that this is in integral part of their electrical system. The wires running through this mast bring power from the utility company's equipment into their main panels.

I have used Skettle Electric for several months. Scheduling is a cinch. They have been incredibly responsive in helping me. They are reasonable, honest and do excellent work. Ian came out to do electrical work several times. He is on-time, knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. They deserve highest rating. (I don't know why location says SF? I am a Cleveland'er and don't know how to change this.)

I called this company to see if they would be interested in a job in the area. Without even listening the lady who answered said to not call again and to take them off my list and hung up. I called once more to let them know I'm not a telemarketer and was interested in hiring them for a job. The lady was very rude and said they are not interested without me providing any information about the project. I wouldn't advise anyone call them for work after this experience.

We chose Skettle Electric because of their stellar reputation in our community FB group. They responded quickly to my initial call and scheduled a site visit. They called the evening before to confirm the appointment. Two Skettle electricians showed up on time, introduced themselves cordially and got right to work. The two problems that we had were quickly repaired. They also offered a couple of helpful tips for me. Skettle is now on our "always call" list of trades services! We highly recommend them.

I scheduled to have a ceiling fan replaced, and some basement electrical work done. The ceiling fan was easy, and I was told I would receive a call about doing the basement. They did call, but only to collect payment for the ceiling fan (I was told it would be included in the total bill). I reminded them of this and we scheduled a time for them to come by.
I legitimately forgot about the appointment, and they showed up and I was not home. Kathy claimed they called to remind me over the weekend (never did). I apologized and we rescheduled, but this time it was Skettle that never showed up. I emailed them, and they said I was not on the schedule and they no longer wanted to do business with me. No call, No show.
They claimed that they "forgot" to tell me that they no longer wanted my business.then why even schedule it? I took off work. They clearly forgot, or vindictively just didn't show up even though they said they would.

Scheduling was very prompt and convenient. All staff were highly professional and pleasant to talk to. They did a very complete job. I have hired other companies with high ratings and was disappointed. In fact, Skettle had to fix some of their work. I would call Skettle again. Karl came over and looked at my electrical panel. Another company had told me I only have 60 amp service. Karl confirmed it was 100 amp, and pointed out some other issues I was able to fix myself. Also he did not charge me anything for the visit! This saved me a ton of money and was very kind. I asked alot of questions and he answered them all in great detail. I will be calling them again when I need them!

I hired Skettle Electric Inc. to repair a room that had suddenly lost all electric power. The 2 electricians work for an hour and a half then they discovered a bad outside motion light was to blame. They were very thorough and professional. The price they charged was very reasonable. I would suggest using them if needed. Service: General repairs

I've been using Skettle Electric for quite some time, but it's been awhile because we downsized to a smaller, newer home, which doesn't seem to need as many repairs as our great, old center-hall colonial. Skettle, however, is yet the ever reliable, friendly, and reasonable service company to the rescue! They are sooo nice, from the first phone call, to the polite and personable service agent who appeared on time, dressed appropriately, masked, and offered to wear shoe coverings even though the work was in my garage! (I assured him that was unnecessary!) He was professional, efficient, and very helpful in offering information/suggestions about my electrical system. Ten Stars!

We had a great experience with Skettle Electric! I called for an estimate late in the afternoon, and someone came over early the next morning. They were able to come out a couple of hours after that to perform all the work. Very friendly and conscientious. Could not have had a better experience! Very pleased. I just had a very disappointing experience with one of the owners. I had scheduled an appointment for the 25th of February which they canceled that morning. We rescheduled for this morning and yesterday late in the day she called to reschedule again. When I explained that my business is effected by these cancellations she agreed to have someone come out later this morning.
The young man who came was pleasant and seems to have fixed the problem, but in the process wound up frying the modem for my internet. I called AT&T and they said this happens with power surges sometimes. I called to let Skettle know that it happened so that they wouldn't have this problem with other customers and the owner was extremely rude and unpleasant! She didn't even let me explain that I was just calling to let them know before telling me how difficult and unreasonable I've been. Truly unbelievable!

I just had these guys come out to switch outlets to GFI, test 2 outdoor outlets and figure out an ancient light fixture (1927). I made the appointment about a month in advance, around my schedule. Making the appointment was very easy over the phone. They called to verify the appointment. They called the morning of, and said they guy coming to my house called in sick, they asked if they could send someone later that day or the next.
Two electricians came and got the work done quickly and unobtrusively. They cleaned up after themselves. The price seemed a bit high, but I won't mess with electricity. They do NOT take AmEx. Nice, knowledgeable people, I would hire them again.

Called Skettle for what would've been an easy job for an electrician, but impossible for a DIYer for some lights installed and a junction box installed. Flat out told me the didn't want my business and it wasn't worth dragging out a ladder tall enough to install a chandelier. If they didn't want to build a customer relationship now they won't have another opportunity for it again. Find a different professional that WANTS your business.

We had a bad experience with Skettle Electric. It took 3 tries for a man to come for a look. Once they said they would come in a time range and I waited hours, but no one showed up/no one called. Receptionist seemed surprised he never showed up and said he should have called. Next day a man came when they said. He did not give me much information about my project.
He discussed one of 2 places to put new receptacle, which I said I'd discuss with husband and get back to them (which I did next morning). When I called back next day to book, the receptionist said I needed these other things that were not discussed (outlets grounded, which was not part of project). I was confused. Then she said we need a permit.
I said let me check with city, since I know some contractors say it's not necessary by experience (protection of homeowner). She was going to give me an estimate on email. Instead I received an email stating they refuse to work our job because I am telling them where to run the line. That's confusing since I said where the receptacle should be (asking one of two places that my husband wanted it).
I did not say how to run the line since I have no idea. They said I challenged them on permit and using existing breaker. No one informed me I could not use existing breaker. I found that out when I had another company give an estimate. Other company told me I did not need a permit, that we needed a different breaker (which I said fine to), and told me a completely different way he wanted to run the line which we have agreed to (where line would not be seen in basement, unlike what Skettle was planning, I think?, but did not mention). I'm confused with this attitude that Skettle gave me, but they were very unprofessional. I'm not angry, but surprised by their hostility.

Somehow, we lost power in one half of our second level in our house, which included two bathrooms- not an ideal situation! Skettle came out the next day and fixed the faulty breaker. The service repair man showed me what he did and answered my questions. I was truly worried that I had a much bigger problem on my hands, but I did not. Within 10 minutes, power was restored for $95.

I had Skettle install a new main breaker box in my moms house.replacing an old glass fuse panel. The office response and communication was great, the guys were prompt, professional and courteous. They even offered to stop back at another time when I got ready to add another circuit for a project I wasn't done with.

The coat of the wire in my garage is worn out so I call Skettle (They are around the neighbor hood). They be able to come and fix the problem at the same day at very reasonable price. The electrician Mike is very honest, reliable, and humble. I am very pleased with the work and want recommend their work to others.

Scheduling with Kathy was easy. The electricians were quick and got the job in our basement done quickly and even stopped by on a Saturday to make sure things were in order. They were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. My family has been using this business for years and has always been pleased with their work. We will continue to use them as needed! Thanks!
