I walked into the NEW Cosmic Fischer Locksmith on 10th Ave.& 45th and 46th. ATTITUDE EXTRAORDINARE. The young guy and the older gentleman are both obnoxious. Almost like they are doing you a favor by asking questions. Of course the women in the place don't say a word. The first time I went and asked about cylinders and locks. The older man walked away to do a Service Call while he was talking to me. Seriously. NOT a word just walked away and left me standing there. Horrible Customer Service for walk-ins. I can understand why they get so many 1 and 2 star reviews. Go anywhere else for you locksmith needs. Wish YELP had UINDER ZERO STAR RATINGS.

Completely terrible service went in to make a copy of a key after standing there for a few minutes was told he was too busy. I asked him if you could at least look at it and sell me the blank he didn't even try to help.

I live a couple blocks aways and figured that they would be the best to replace my apartment door handle. Wrong, they quoted me 700$ to replace a door handle and when I called the store to ask why their technician quoted me such an unrealistic price upon his arrival they started to get very defensive like they new they were in the wrong telling me that that at best anywhere else would charge me 600$ to replace an apartment door handle.

So clearly they ended up not replacing my door handle because I refused to pay 700$. And clearly they tried to take advantage of someone who made it maybe a little too clear that they needed their services for safety purposes. But fortunately I was smart enough to wait until the next day and get a realistic price from the next closest locksmith, Value Locksmith Company. After telling them about my experience with Cosmic they were very eager to help me out.

Quickly fixed the lock, but clearly took advantage of a situation. Charged $700 fix a minor issue! I'd go somewhere else.

Working with the team at Cosmic Fischer was easy and professional. Quick and clear communications with Stephen during the estimate process carried through the entire installation process for a 75 unit building intercom upgrade along with CCTV and new storefronts with keyfob entry system. I fully recommend Cosmic Fischer for any building security and entryway upgrades.

OVERPRICED. I have dealt with this store twice. They are very much overpriced, and their owner is very curt and money-hungry with customers. I had them come to look at my front door lock and after spraying it with WD-40 and tightening the screws they charged me an arm and a leg for this nothing burger "tune-up"! Look elsewhere.there are many, many other options for a friendly and reasonably price locksmith in NYC.

Cosmic Fischer made the entire process of changing a lock very easy, start to finish. I was impressed by their level of service and their professionalism.

Cosmic Fischer managed all security projects at 50+ of our buildings over the years. They handled the projects on time and took care of any additional emergency we had on a 24/7 basis. The quality of their work is second to none, and when I called they answered, every time.

AVOID THIS PLACE ALL COSTS! This locksmith locks did not work and I ended up having to get them redone at a separate location. There are better options in the Hk neighborhood.

This place is incredibly impolite to their customers. I asked for a copy of my key to be made and they made a copy with a different type of key. I then asked the locksmith and the cashier for a key that most closely matches my own since the cheaper keys sometimes gets jammed in my door. The locksmith, instead of answering my question said, "it's made correctly!" and then ignored me and continued to speak on the phone with someone else.

The cashier immediately got incredibly passive aggressive at me right after that, she told me the price of the key, and I gave her my card to pay. She then slammed the receipt that I needed to sign down on the counter along with slamming the pen I needed to use to sign as well. I asked "did I do something to you? I was just asking a question." and she replied "no." and then said "here's your receipt." and again slammed my finalized receipt on the counter.

I have no idea what I did for them to be so rude to me. It doesn't seem like I can ask questions to get the best key possible for my place- so I really wouldn't go there again. And- I was correct, and my "new" key from them DID get jammed because it was the incorrect style of key. what a waste! I am a person of color, and there was another person of color who came in at a similar time to me.

The cashier was extremely rude to her too! I hope they don't treat all people of color as badly as they treated me and another person who came in. So rude! Would never recommend! it's 2019, people should be able to do some customer service well no matter what color your customers are.

Comical store. Rude service, and was more interested in eating his sandwich than providing a nice customer service. Search elsewhere. I'd recommend Value Lock.

Got the price on two keys was told $2.50 each was charged $3.25 after sandwich man said the lady who told me the prices didn't know what she was talking about. Felt a little cheated.

I went here to get a brass key duplicated. The key cutter was not super friendly and sounded very condescending but did the job quickly and well. I asked him why the key cost $7-he smirked and said he matched the original brass "real" key blank to make sure it works correctly. He wouldn't bother fixing my Home Depot keys that didn't fit correctly.

I didn't feel great when leaving the store because I thought I was overcharged and didn't like the "old school" condescending tone-but went to another key duplication place and realized Cosmic Fischer was legit and price was right for midtown Manhattan. I would recommend this store for the locksmithing and key duplication. Don't go expecting a friendly chat.

I think the staff/owner could use some training on customer service and friendly communication. It would serve them well to survive as the mom and pop shop they ask us to protect.

The owner of this business is a real jerk! I don't like to give business to dishonest businesses, I hope they go out of business! Don't call them for locksmith work, unless you like to be taken advantage of and get treated like a cash machine than a customer.

I contacted Cosmic Fischer for a quote on repairing a double glass door saddle for our office. Stephen was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what exactly was needed. They had a field installer out the same day to look at it and we had a very competitive estimate within hours. They were actually ready to do the install the same day however we had to arrange paperwork with building management first.

Once done, the job was done within a week. Efraim was their field technician who did the install. He was a pleasure to work with and made sure the new saddle fit as perfectly as possible and the doors and locks were in full working order. He also cleaned up when he was finished. I would not hesitate to recommend Cosmic Fischer for any door or lock repairs you may need and they will definitely be my first call in the future.

I was amazed when I contacted Cosmic Fischer locksmith via email regarding a key I needed copied that is from 1938. I took a photo and emailed it to Stephen@cflocks.com - he right away said "yes" we have the keys to make a key for you. I went to the shop, they had the exact old key I needed to be made off. I also brought along 2 old keys I had that are from Brazil - YUP they had the keys to make copies for me! This place is amazing, they are super knowledgeable - and helpful. Highly recommend.

Super nice guy at the counter. He was very friendly and helpful. Was in and out in 3 minutes and got my keys copied!

I needed multiple keys duplicated and it was done fast and cheap. They were patient and went the extra mile to correct one key that was problematic for me. I would definitely recommend this shop.

They have no idea what they are doing. They broke my car in order to unlock it. They have been dificultades to deal with in terms of getting reimbursed for the damage to my car!

They had one job to do and yet they failed at what they are supposed to be experts at. Cosmic fischer was near my old apartment and we went into get one simple copy of the key. The pro: price, which is $8 so I thought it was cheaper than other HK location. Con: they had one job of copying it and it would not work- went back second time to thin out the key- however, due to lack of attention, ( and despite mentioning which one is the master twice) he thinned out the original not the copy key. I am very disappointed. He thinned out the copy key and told me if i lubricate it then it should work. Came back home to try the copy and still does not work. so sad.

I went in to get some keys made. I must have interrupted his breakfast, because he said "Hold on a fucken second". Then without giving me a quote on the keys, he just made them. When he told me the price, he got really vulgar about the fact that I was not going to pay. Then he said, I better not come in again, or he will beat me like the faggot that i am. I proceeded to leave, and go to a much friendlier store 3 blocks down 9th Ave.

I purchased a lock and installation from Cosmic. Fourteen months later the lock failed. I went to Cosmic and spoke with the owner. Although the lock was only warrantied for three months, Cosmic was willing to communicate with me and was sympathetic with my dissatisfaction. Ultimately they replaced and installed the lock cylinder free of charge. I greatly appreciate this company's willingness to respond to the individual situation so professionally and to sometimes compromise in the face of strict policy. Thank you Cosmic Fischer Locks for a job well done!

I was locked out of my apartment when I got back from work. I searched for a locksmith on google, and called Comic Fischer Locks. They quickly replaced my lock and were professional and friendly. I'm a happy customer.

Great place to do business with. I work for a small business in a 15 story building literally across the street from these guys. My boss wanted new locks and a key fob lock for the front door. I inquried a few different locks smiths in the area and they guys were the 1st to respond. Pricing was more than reasonable I let them know exactly what I wanted and they came out the same day within a few hours.

Not too sure of the gentlemen they sent over, but he met with my boss and needless to say he was our top pick immediately. Imformative, helpful and answered all the questions my boss had. They had to schedule the work we wanted for two days, but that was seamless because they sent one locksmith to do the locks one day and the very next day early morning two other gentelmen came in to do the front door.

They explained how everything operated and even cleaned up after themselves when they were through. Very pleased! And would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a locksmith.

Pros: Fast and quick. You'll be in and out in a minute once they get to you. Cons: The owner knows his stuff really well but he is always yelling at the phone. The first time I came here he took 10 minutes to even look up at me. Just hope that someone else working there comes out of the back room and spots you if the owner is busy because he will not even talk to you.

Never, ever, EVER use this company. I don't care how many stars it has. They came in and jiggled my lock - it was stuck, but they didn't do ANYTHING else and it cost me $120. A HUNDRED AND TWENTY FUCKING DOLLARS. They didn't say anything about the price just to come over on the phone. Really fucking ridiculous. The guy they sent was nice, but insisted that there was nothing he could do.

Simply Professional! A prompt service at the correct price. Replace my locks and repair my door at 8 pm. The installation was neat and the technicians very friendly. Now I have an official locksmith for my business!

Kept me waiting to have keys cut for 20m, still hadn't started the job, 3 employees sitting around doing nothing or on the phone, I left since I didn't want to wait any longer.

Guy didn't show up, I called every hour and they kept saying 15 minutes and after three hours they stopped picking up the phone and sent me to a full voicemail box. No help at all!
