Critical: Professionalism Went in to buy gates. The guy had a bad attitude. All in all just a bad experience.

Aaron came out to get measurements. I liked that he broke up the prodject into 4our sections.

Friendly people good stock the prices are a little high wood and it is very difficult to get a discount when buying a lot but that being said ed they do have a ton of stuff on hand if you're willing to do the work yourself It does save a ton of money I was doing an acre Of fencing chain link and and it was $ $80000 to get it professionally done but I was able to buy the materials at full at tholl and do it myself for for just over $14000 I have to do a bunch more fencing for kennels and I will definitely be buying my materials from them

IF YOU HAVE A SMALL PROJECT (UNDER $30,000.00) AND LOOKING FOR A BID DON'T CALL THOLL FENCING THEY DON'T WANT YOUR JOB. I place this up front on my review if you don't want to read what happened and just move on. I called Tholl Fencing asking for a bid to place a motorized gate at the top of my driveway. I was told Trevor Applebaum would call me back to schedule a date to come out.

After 3 days I had not heard back so I called again and was told Trevor would be calling me soon. Later that day I did get a call from Trevor and the first thing he said to me was "Before I come out, I want you to understand that you are aware of what the cost will be around to make sure you want me to come out." I said back not sure you can guess since you haven't seen it but what do you think?

He replied "Around $30,000.00 to place a gate on your property" Trevor than went into needing a pedestrian gate along side the driveway gate. I told him this is private property and we are just looking at replacing the current inoperative gate. Trevor then said" We really don't want to come out and waste our time and not do a professional job." I replied that was the first honest thing I believe he said that he did not want to come out and do the job.

Since this conversation I have had Tahoe Fencing come out and place a bid and it is less than 10% of what Trevor was guess quoting. THOLL FENCING is a company that is either lazy or just want the large jobs to place their plaque on the fences. So, if you have a small project THOLL FENCING is not the company you want to call. I can not review the quality of their work since they didn't want to do the job.

Critical: Professionalism If you're a fencing pro and know the lingo and know what you want this is definitely the place, if you're a homeowner trying to do it yourself you'll likely be partially ignored and talked down to but at least they have a good selection of material if you can put up with that part of it. Less than professional communication and service. Shawna Downs, who stated, "I own this company", is not fit to run a check stand at Home Depot in my opinion. She, as well as her staff have run Tholl Fence into the ground. I am sure the original owners would not have put up with this little girl and her silly princess mindset. I am disappointed in the little boys that work for her. I requested my deposit back since my fence was to be done in November and Nick, one of Shawnas boys tells me sometime next year 2021 while they hang on to my $2000 deposit.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst customer service with the most condescending jerks imaginable. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake of supplying the wrong material and work towards a solution, the owner decided to gaslight insult my capabilities. This business has gone downhill since the kids took over.

I've worked with Tholl fence for almost 20 years. My company has used them as a subcontractor for numerous projects and I had thought we had a good relationship. I called today to basically give them a job, an client wanted a yard fenced in a rush and up to today they were always my first call. The estimator Nathan told me he wasn't sure he was going to bid to my company because they hadn't got a lot of work from us recently, and that we had used other fence companies in the past.

Construction is a competitive bid business and yes, sometimes I had to go with a lower number to get a project. It's the nature of the construction business, many of my customers have done the same with me, it's not something you take personally, you can't be the low bid every time. He asked me "what my intentions were" with this bid.

Like I was going to shop his number around town. That is a very, very insulting thing to imply to a fellow contractor. Basically he was accusing my business of being disreputable and untrustworthy. I told him that my intention had been to just give him a job, but not to worry about it as we will no longer be working with his company. An estimator is supposed to be a salesman, this guy is ruining a company with the way he is treating long time clients.

We are very satisfied with the gate they installed. We live on a hill and our old gate was constantly being torn apart and forced open by the wind. Tholl Fence not only installed a fence that appears and feels heavy duty, but they drilled into the concrete for added support. I am taking away two stars because it took two weeks for them to come out for an estimate and then the wait time for the new gate was close to 6 weeks.

On our scheduled installation date, we were told they had not finished building our gate. It then took another week and a half for them to come out and install it. The wait time seemed excessive, but I also understand we may be in the midst of a busy season. They did communicate with our landlord about the gate being unfinished on the day of our scheduled appointment, but they did not communicate when they would be installing it. We arrived home after work one night to find it done. I texted our landlord and she was also surprised. It would have been nice to know when they were there.

Been coming here since 94. They moved to Glendale next to their office. No where to park, tiny signs blocked by junk. Just awful. Rudest lady in the world pointed to the office where I could buy product, with a 'you can't see that dumbass' look. Well your sign is on the ground behind a bunch of junk. I still try to buy stuff and she kept bad mouthing me asking what did u say. I said you suck and your a rip off. Bought same metal poles and fencing down the street for half the price! They are a rip off. Shop around.

This is not the same Tholl Fence that set the mark in Reno for years. Voicemail hell, no call backs, 3 weeks out for an estimate. I used them both commercially and residentially for years. Haven't needed fencing in a while called them and yikes, I miss the old Tholl.

Tholl Fencing gave me an estimate on my 13 foot cedar fence with two 5 foot gates. The estimate, are you ready for it.$2,800! That's $215 a linear foot. I think if they were to busy or the job was to small, they should have just referred me to some one else. Sooo, I decided to do it myself. I did it over the weekend. All by myself. I bought all the materials at Lowe's which cost me, wait for it. $250.

And I bought all treated wood, Tholl wanted to put in galvanized fence posts which does not look nearly as nice as an all wood fence. The people who hire them must have money to throw away. See the photo of the new fence.

What an unprofessional joke this company is. I saw it had a fairly high review and couldn't resist adding my two cents. I've made 4 phone calls and left 4 messages over a 1 week period and "no one" has returned my call. If this is how they react initially, I would never trust them to do my work and neither should others. Very rude of them to not return customer calls. Give you a good idea of what to expect if you do business with them.

I received a proposal that did not match the scope of work discussed during the walk through process. When pointing that out to the Sales Representative in an email and asking for a revised proposal, I received no response. I sent a 2nd email & still no response. Contacting the company through their website I received notice they were going to discuss the matter with their employee and get right back to me.never heard back from them. Not even a "We really aren't interested".nothing!

Thanks Tholl Fence. These guys did a great job from start to finish. They were the lowest bidder and the work they did is top notch. They even did a little extra for no charge. Thanks again.

They not only were affordable (not the cheapest) but the very best, most professional, and most likable people you could find. Call them, you won't be disappointed. Just an update. I recently called Tholl because I had a problem with my mailbox.

I called 22 contractors and no one wanted to help me, at any price! I called Tholl and low and behold my mailbox was fixed, quick as a wink. I love these folks! They are truly are the best!

Start to finish our experience with Tholl Fence has been exceptional. My husband contacted the office to arrange a quote. Everyone with whom we have spoken in the office has been friendly and helpful. The quote was set for a few days later with Trevor who arrived on time, prepared, and highly knowledgeable. He really listened to what we wanted in a fence and created multiple quotes for us to allow us to make a decision about what would work best for us. Trevor also helped me through the frustrating HOA approval process.

He took the time to craft a well-written explanation of the fence material and appearance and why it was a fence that met the needs of our neighborhood. The install crew were a hard-working group led by Ricardo, who is an ace carpenter. Our fence was a massive project and there were many weather issues that delayed the work, but even still they finished the job in a reasonable amount of time.

The icing on the cake, though, happened a week after the fence was completed. We had a really windy day on Tuesday of this week. As the gusts of wind were bombarding our neighborhood, my husband observed that one (out of thousands) of the boards had come loose and was flapping. I put it on my list of things to do the next day. The next morning, before 8 am, I heard hammering outside coming from the area where we had observed the loose board. Later, I took my dog out and walked along the fence to see if I could find the loose board - nope.

It had been repaired before I could ask for help from Tholl. I do need to say that a Tholl Fence crew was working on another fence on a property in direct view of our house. However, these actions show tremendous customer service and pride in quality work. I would highly recommend this company.

Then I talked to other more knowledgeable individuals and decided to return the materials as they were over priced and not exactly what I needed and there's a 15% restocking fee. Not happy with the so called experience and taking money for having materials less than 24 hours.

I just got off the phone with their salesman named David who tried to justify why he was a lot higher than the competition for 1,000 feet of 8' high screened fence. I told him it wasn't my first time out and he said well good luck.

As honest and ethical of a company as any with whom I have ever done business. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

The crew from Tholl fence came to my home and installed an Iron view fence and it is beautiful! It was fast and professional and I couldn't be happier. The price was also very good because half of it was on an uphill slope.
