Solar Direct

The install team was great, got the collectors up and working in half a day. I would recommend this Company for a solar pool heating install.

We were looking to update our 15-year-old system that the previous owners of the house had installed. After contacting a few vendors, we settled on Solar Direct based on the positive reviews throughout the Internet. They certainly did not disappoint. They were able to get my system changed out in a fairly quick length of time and walked me through everything that had changed. I am a very happy customer and highly recommend them.

6-months into this project being finished and still no problems. These guys are good but they had some staffing issues in the past. Very pleased with them.

No communication at all! Good luck even getting a call back! I spent 2 weeks on it, and left several messages, then just called their competitors.

I went solar in Aug 2018. It was something I wanted to do for a long time. I spent a couple of months learning and reading and signed up for some estimates when I thought I knew enough to do that. I went onto an online site and put in my info and it made my info available to solar companies to provide bids to me through them. I wanted to eliminate my bill for energy, but learned you don't want to size larger than you need as the excess is paid for by the power company.

I selected 3 to talk to. 2 were relatively near me and had good reviews, but one (Solar Direct) was in Sarasota FL, almost 4 hours from my home in Edgewater FL. Solar direct started out as the underdog due to their distance from my property. But eventually my salesperson Dale earned my business and I went with them, despite them starting off as the underdog.

I am happy that I did. They gave me a competitive price and excellent service and my system turns out to be sized perfectly without deficit or excess. My materials are high quality and the installation is neat and professional and passed inspection first run. We had a problem with one part of it when installed due to a manufacturing defect, so they got the opportunity to demonstrate great service when they made 2 trips from 4 hours away to diagnose and resolve the problem replacing the component at no charge.

I could not ask for more. I am glad I gave them the opportunity and am very happy in every respect. I highly recommend them, and if they are not close by, don't rule them out.

Tried to get parts for solar hot water heater. their site had what I wanted but they did not deliver. I was told I would have the parts the next day. 8 days later still nothing after numerous emails and phone calls. each time empty promises. tomorrow.tomorrow. tomorrow. I found the same parts at half the cost. I ordered and got tracking info within a couple hours. never again with this company. I received an email that my order has been cancelled (at my request). Something tells me I will receive the products anyway. this company can not get anything right.

Absolute shit show. Our panels came nearly 2 months late. Not once did they communicate about the delay. Not once. When we eventually got them only 2 out of the 3 boxes came. Again no communication. If you can find another vendor I would suggest that.

Oliver, It was really good speaking with you today. We wanted to take a minute to thank you and your team for our wonderful solar set up. I know you usually only hear from folks when things go wrong, but we haven't had any issues in the 3 years since our installation. I've been really amazed that the system has worked as well as you promised.

I actually think it's performed better. We have averaged less than $150 in a year in electricity costs to Duke Energy (outside of the $8.98 monthly customer charge). We really can't say enough about how smoothly and well managed the project was as a whole. We always sing the praises of Solar Direct when folks ask for recommendations. Worst customer service company that I have ever encountered. After spending $28,000.00 on a system from them, that now has failed for the second time, they still won't answer my emails or phone calls requesting service.

Solid solar company since the 1980's. Engineering based, so custom design and installs are very competent, but not quick. Worked with them for decades.

Quick to sell products, but very poor on service and repair. They missed multiple repair appointments and rarely call back. They did not fix my warranty repair the first time and charged a $200 service fee.
