In 2003, a neighbor recommended Action Security to us for monitoring our previously installed and unmonitored fire and entry alarm system. Action sent a representative to our rural location to evaluate our existing system and suggest potential updates. Upon agreement, Action made the improvements efficiently and neatly, and the connection to their central monitoring location via POTS (plain old telephone system) was made.
We have had no equipment failures, but we know that Action is monitoring because they immediately catch our occasional "whoops! I forgot to disarm the alarm" moments. The only system trouble calls we have had were caused by the external POTS lines. Recently, when Action Security called us to offer installation of a more reliable cellular communicator, we accepted, and now have a more reliable system. We remain very pleased with Action Security's equipment, service and the responsiveness of their personnel, and strongly recommend them.

We have been a client of Action Security for a over a year and have found their monitoring service to be effective and their cost for services to be very competitive. Security and fire monitoring is one of those invisible services that you hope is working but at the same time, you hope you don't need to test it to find out.

Updated review. We have used Action Security for more than 25 years. We had an issue a few years ago which appeared to be a faulty CO detector because it was chirping. It was actually a faulty smoke detector on another floor, which we found out when the problem persisted after the CO detector was replaced and the fire department came and saw which device was flashing.
They put the old CO detector back (it had been fairly new) and waived a lot of the labor charges which I thought was very fair. However, we had to have them in recently after replacing our sliding glass door. The service person told me that we would need to pay a fixed service call fee plus the hourly rate, which would be pro-rated. It took the guy less than 10 minutes to replace the sensor, but we were charged a full 1 hour's time. I called back and was told that was their minimum charge, which is NOT what I was told when I scheduled it. Very annoying.

Terrible customer service! Very shady contract - read the very small print. 5 year contract! When we had the service started we where told they didn't have a contract - we didn't notice the small print of the contract (fool me once). We tried to cancel after one year and twice was told no problem and service was removed (fool me twice) I should have got that in writing as now we are being held to the shady contract. Not to mention the security service wasn't very good - they couldn't even get our safe word right.

Worst service ever. I already have an active property with them (which is often a mess and customer service nightmare.people are crabby and customer service responses are non-existent). Tried to have a system installed at another property and the process dragged out for so long I've just given up. Business must be so good they're able to ignore potential and current customers?! Stay far far away.
